Terrible service and support from the beginning. Crane sold multiple faulty appliances, and repeatedly failed to provide adequate service. As an example, our LG gas range had an issue immediately with the regulator. It took weeks for a technician to come provide service, when he did he ordered the wrong replacement part, and we had to wait another few weeks for our stove to be workable. Less than a year later, we had another issue with the stove and Crane was not helpful at all in getting it fixed. These are just examples of poor service and products provided by Crane, there were others. I recommend avoid this company for any appliance needs in Falmouth or on the cape.
Description of Work: Needed basic repairs for a faulty regulator (because Crane sold a broken/non-functional product) among other repairs needed (a fridge they sold us also didn't work properly).

I called Crane for service on my dryer. The woman I spoke with was quite nice, but since it was Friday, couldn't get anyone out to look at they dryer 'til Tuesday. That was fine, they were going to call Monday with a time window for the appointment on Tues. Late Monday, when I hadn't heard from them, I called to see if they might know the time so I could plan my day better Tuesday. I was told that the appt. had been made for A WEEK FROM TUESDAY, a week and 1/2 from when I called initially. This error was Crane's as I wasn't even going to be in town the day they scheduled the appt. I told them that I really needed the dryer serviced, and asked if they'd honor their appt. on Tues. - I could be completely flexible on timing. They said all their service people were booked - there was zero apology. I asked if there was any way, the woman put me on hold and "spoke w/her manager" and then came back and said no again. I asked if I could speak w/her manager and she put me on hold . . . for more than 10 minutes - clearly a tactic to get me to hang up, which I did. Terrible service - and what irritates me more is that I had to give a credit card number to secure the non-existent appointment, which now I have to call and cancel . . . that's the first and last time I deal with these folks.

. On two occassions delivery dates were canceled and postponed. Their excuse was that a supplier was unable to meet their deadline for delivery to the Crane warehouse. Our arguement was that Crane should allow for such delays and promise client delivery dates further out-- we have to keep our dates firm and would prefer a later delivery date to insure both Crane and we are sure it will happen. Our first purchase of stereo eqquipemt we waited for only to find delivery date was postpoined three times. In anger, on our second effort we canceled our order and had our funds refunded for a freezer and a refriderator and went elsewhere.Becasue Crane has a monopoly in this area for their types of merchandise, we tried them a third time but made them promise the washer and dryer were actually in their own nearby warehouse and could be delivered without a hitch on the promised date. They did. However, we did not receive a confirmation call to set up a delivery time/window and were fortunately at home when the truck appeared. At best we find them lax. However they have been tottaly unprofessional in their handling of these situations and failed to offer either appropriate apologies or any sort of compemsation. We have the feeling we are expected to sit around and wait for them to do whatever pleases them. If there are to be delays, sufficient notice should be given to allow a client to change plans. We are outraged by their rudeness and sorry we don't have another local dealer. We have found however, that a dealer at some distance is more than willing to delivery the three Dacor appliances we wish to buy at over $15,000 and service them. Because we have had success with them in the past, they will get the order.

The salesperson was professional and efficient. The sales room was attractive and functional. I purchased the dishwasher, knowing which model I wanted. They had it in stock and at a very competitive price. Delivery, installation and haul-away was available for an extra $175.00. The delivery was exceptionally fast, the next day and the delivery person was also the installer. He was punctual, neat and cordial. However, the dishwasher was not level and was installed at an angle. I called the next day and asked if the installer could fix the problem. Meanwhile, the dishwasher moved each time I closed the door. There was a large distance between the dishwasher and the edge of the cabinet. The installer returned promptly and leveled the dishwasher. He told me Bosch dishwashers move around, however, a screw had pulled out of the cabinet. After leaving, I noticed the dishwasher was not centered and the installation looks sloppy. I do not feel like having the person return since the dishwasher works andthe installer does not appear to care about how the installation looks, as long as it works. You may want to arrange for your own pick up and installation.
Description of Work: I purchased a Bosch Dishwasher to be installed and to have the old dishwasher removed.

I got the clothes washer for half the price. I was just beyond myself. Really great. It looked very professional. They were very personable and professional.
Description of Work: They're an appliance store, but they install things. They installed my dishwasher and clothes washer. They also will deliver and install and then remove whatever you have.

Promises but never returned my phone calls. 5 calls to Fisher. 5 calls to Crane. No calls returned.
Description of Work: Bought fridge - payee did washer. Very expensive. It developed leaks onto the floor. 2 repair visits and it still leaks. Telephone calls to the repair company and to the manager resulted i promised but they never returned my calls.

Given the age of the machine, I suspected it couldn't be repaired. When I called the office, the lady made it clear that it would cost $129 for the repairman to come out and look at it. If he couldn't fix it, I would get $50 off the purchase of a new machine. The repairman was prompt and polite He showed me the obviously worn out parts inside the machine, and explained that new parts for that model were not available. So far the new machine is working well. Maybe it will last another 20 years.
Description of Work: The repairman examined my washing machine, which was leaking a lot of oil and moving around during the wash cycle. He quickly determined it was past repair -- unsurprising, since it was about 20 years old. He gave me a $50 coupon towards the purchase of new one from R.D. Crane.

The entire transactions went very well. A very nice woman assisted us on the telephone to ensure us they sold a couple of washer/dryer models that would fit into our space. Once we arrived she gave us the time and attention to measure and answer our questions. She was friendly, professional and very helpful. Kyle assisted us with the selection of 2 flat screen televisions, advising us of the specials being offered and the differences and comparisons of various selections. Kyle was very knowledgeable and helped us to make the right decision for our needs. Delivery and Installation of Washer and Dryer were done within 3 days. Delivery was on time and done quickly and well. Men who serviced us were professional and courteous. Likewise, delivery of televisions were done within a week and installed onto walls well and with skill and professionalism. Only feedback I would have would be that delivery and installation is not free, like it is at some of the larger appliance suppliers. Installation of TV's was a bit steep.
Description of Work: Moved into a new home and our washing machine and dryer were too large to fit into the closet space, we needed to purchase a new smaller washing machine and dryer. Needed 2 new televisions also.

THE SERVICE PERSONNEL WERE VERY COURTEOUS. THEY REALLY DID TRY TO DETERMINE WHETHER I WAS BETTER OFF WITH A NEW STOVE, OR REPAIRING THE OLD ONE. THEY SEEMED VERY SINCERE IN THEIR EFFORTS TO MINIMIZE MY EXPENSE.
Description of Work: CRANE APPLIANCE CAME TO MY CONDO, AND SERVICED THE EXISTING STOVE. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE STOVE WAS NOT REPAIRABLE. THEY SOLD ME A NEW APPLIANCE, AND INSTALLED IT. THEY ALSO DISPOSED OF THE OLD APPLIANCE.
