We had just bought the house and it needed a new septic system. The installation was performed very promptly. I was not present and found out after the fact that instead of running his own wire for the pump alarm he disconnected a temperature sensor to the house's solar heating system. I had intended on trying to reinstate that system which the previous owner had not used. I feel I should have been consulted. They had to move a very large rhododendron. Instead of returning it to it's original position they put it in a spot too close to the house. I asked them to return it to its original location and was told the only thing he'd come back to do is cut it up with his chain saw. On the positive side the job was done in a timely manner and has been problem free. I just don't feel good about the way I was treated.

We were under tremendous pressure to have the septic system replaced as quickly as possible. The system failed the Title 5 inspection and we could not close on the home until the work was completed. From the very first call the office administrators made me feel comfortable with their knowledge and confidence that they would be able to deliver a quality system within the financial and time constraints. Falmouth Engineering designed the new system to upgrade the current 5 bedroom failed system to add a leach field for 6 bedrooms. I asked 6 different septic system installers to bid the job based upon the engineering plan. Only 3 companies were able to meet the unreasonable 12 hour bid deadline. A&K Septic provided a complete bid and did not exclude important items like the other vendors. For example, they said that they would work around the utility lines rather than the other vendors bids that placed the risk on us. Even though the A&K bid was significantly higher than the low bidder, their bid included everything. As soon as I awarded the bid to A&K, they went to work immediately, contacting Dig Safe and going to Town Hall to take out a permit on the job. As soon as Dig Safe had reported the utility locations A&K went to work immediately. They excavated right next to multiple stone walls without disturbing the walls. They removed and re-planted several large bushes. They completed the job within the 3 days they had estimated up front. The Town immediately issued a Certificate of Compliance. A&K did excellent work, under budget and on time. It is such a pleasure working with people who do exactly what they say they will do, unfortunately it is rare these days, which is why I'm taking the time to write this.
