All went very well. This was a big job over multiple days/weeks. Paul (the boss) was excellent and the site lead was a perfectionist. Great communication when the inevitable unexpected arose. Def hire again. PS: This was the only contractor who asked me to inspect his work to make sure all is well.

Very well -- one miscommunication about colors early on, but they adjusted on the fly and were very professional and thorough.

Before hiring Paul and his team at ProTect, we received several quotes from competing painting companies. Paul did say that he would not be the highest nor the lowest bid. And that is true, he did come in the middle. Paul was able to estimate the size of the job himself, using his old school of pacing around the property. The job was able to be started early, they were courteous and always communicated when they'd be on-site, etc. When the job was in the swing there were several guys on-site at once, the foreman, "Al" was a great guy and the one I communicated most with during the project. The painters brought anything to my attention that needed repair; one section in particular that required the help of an outside contractor to fix some years-long water damage. We could not get a contractor out to fix the damage until after the painting job was "complete", however when we did have it completed, Paul's sent a couple of guys to come back out and paint the new siding that had to be replaced.

Everything went very well. I had called at least 6-8 contractors to get help with ice dam repairs/painting after I had a wall & ceiling ripped out in 2 rooms and found out there wasn't any mold. IF the contractors got back to me at all, they were booking estimates for 2-4 months out. This was considered a small job. I first contacted Paul on the third week in August. He was referred to me by a friend. He came by for an estimate within 2 weeks. I hired him within a day. He couldn't promise the exact week in October, since he was finishing up a large outside painting job and I was fine with that. Paul's team worked quickly and thoroughly. His head painter, Mario is very experienced and thorough and nice. Everything was done before the end of the month. My 2 rooms with the water damage looked as good as new!

They showed up on schedule and always returned my calls which is very important. My house is large with wood siding. The prep work was done excellently. They completely stripped down to the wood the peeling side of my house. They replaced all split and rotten boards, replaced some rotten trim, replaced any nails sticking out with screws, chalked all areas, primed and painted with 2 coats. I also had a leak which we thought was coming from where the porch attaches to the house and they pulled the shingles and siding off the area and put flashing and a water barrier underneath. Cleaned up at the end of each day. Painted shutters and rehung them. I would highly recommend them.

Our building, housing a machine shop, is located in a residential neighborhood. The paint was peeling badly and the neighbors were starting to complain about the way it looked, so I looked in Angie's list to find a reliable painter to do the job. Several were contacted and we awarded the job to Paul Dauteil of Protect Painters of Dracut. The painters arrived on schedule, did a great job and even gave us a 300.00 Angie's List coupon discount with even asking! Very happy with the results and our neighbors are too.

This spring, my wife and I decided we needed to paint our house and garage. The latter also required some carpentry work. Of the half dozen or so companies we contacted, ProTect was one of only two in our area able to do both the painting and carpentry. Better, their quote - *with the carpentry* - was significantly less than the other quotes we received, most of which were for painting *alone*. After checking references and so forth for the three best quotes, we decided to go with ProTect. The owner - Paul Dauteuil - was very helpful from the beginning, and strongly backs the quality of his people's work. Indeed, he made a point of inspecting it himself on several occasions over the course of the job. The painting/carpentry team he sent - Tommy and Jason - was excellent in every respect: weather-permitting, they were usually at our house between 7 and 8 in the morning, worked a full business day, 7 days a week, and completed the job in just about 2 weeks (not including the power wash). What's more, they went well beyond what one could legitimately expect from them, fixing problems we didn't even know we had (at no additional cost), and doing everything they could to make sure our house was as livable as possible during the painting process. This, plus the fact that both are genuinely nice guys, and do good work, made working with them a pleasure.

Protect Painters did a great job. They were on time, didn't take very long to complete the job, and left the house clean and picked up. There were a few issues with some items that weren't painted or the paint was peeling, but they came back and did touch ups for us.

In my initial conversation with Paul, when he came to inspect my home, he told me that he wasn't going to be either the least or the most expensive. That was true; he was in the middle, on the lower end. Paul gave me confidence that he was not going skimp on the process, tools or clean up. I felt that Paul's desire to do a good job, get a good write up and word of mouth reviews were his primary motivation. Therefore, even though he wasn't the lowest bid, I was the most confident that Paul would deliver a result with which I would be happy. I am very happy with the result. Paul's team leader, Al, is a great person with whom to work. He and his team arrived early to start work and were effective and productive in power washing, scraping, priming and painting my home. Al is easy to talk to, got questions resolved up front and never had a problem handling fixes and corrections. The team was very respectful of my home and family, my wife's raspberry bushes, and our privacy. They kept their work area neat and always ensured we had clear access in and out of the house even as they were painting doors and porches. The painting job is spectacular. My home looks better than I had ever hoped and I will be asking Paul to do more for me in the future.

Crew was on site for two weeks and exceeded our expectations.

Perfect! Paul did a beautiful job patching and painting my father's bedroom. We selected colors and he made everything simple and easy for us. Bought the paint, perfect patching (lots of picture pin holes) and even found spots that needed fixing we had not noticed. We added an accent wall which truly enhanced the space. Paul was professional, very reasonable and you can tell from the moment you meet him that he enjoys his work and takes it seriously. This is the second time I have used Paul's company (first time was a bathroom), and I will definitely us him again.

Paul's team did an excellent job with both the repairs and the repainting. Paul was referred to me by a local architect on whose house he had done similar work, and I was not disappointed. Work progressed steadily, and the workplace was cleaned up nightly. At the end of the project, the team thoroughly cleaned up, and Paul came by to walk through the job. In addition to the minor punch list items I asked be fixed (and immediately were) Paul found a few more things he wanted to have some extra attention, and they were taken care of the same day. Paul also provided a 1-year written warranty on the work, which in this day and age is both unusual and appreciated. Although Paul's price was not the lowest, I do think that I got a fair value for what was paid, and the work was completed by experienced, career painters and carpenters. I already have and will readily refer Paul's ProTect Painting franchise to others.

Paul is EXACTLY the guy you want to work with. He is straight forward, very "by-the-book" and does not cut corners. He listens to what you want, educates you on the pluses and minuses of options available to you, and then does the job just as agreed. He was very clear about pricing. He stated that he would not be the absolute cheapest and then explained to me why and the value added by the products he used and the methods he employed. He educated me on things to focus on, and with this knowledge, it soon became clear that what other contractors were proposing was not as good of a job. To summarize: if you work with Paul and his team, you will get a no-hassle, quality end result that is completed in a timely manner and on schedule. Stop looking around and just call Paul.

Protect arrived on schedule and completed the trim painting within the expected time window. They cleaned up each day and stored their equipment out of sight. They did an excellent job on the trim and suggested innovative ways to correct previous painting errors from other painting services. They were willing to work weekends to get the job completed as quickly as possible.

Paul the owner and Mike the foreman were just exceptional. They went above and beyond. They even put a lock on the garage door. I am so pleased with the house. They cleaned up daily after working and neatly stored ladders etc. in the back of my yard. They were quite and respectful of both me and my property. Mike is such a perfectionist. I looked at the job when finished. It is immaculate!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paul Dauteuil and his men from ProTect Painters spent nearly eight weeks on this project. Fortunately, the weather was cooperative because it was an extensive job. The property is really an estate with ornate designs and four tall Corinthian pillars. Paul explained the scope of the job and listened attentively to my concern that all the old paint be removed before applying new coats of paint. He gave me his assurance that his men would do as I requested. The estate had been painted about ten years ago and touched up periodically but never has all the old paint been completely removed. Paul and his men lived up to my expectations and beyond. They did an exquisite job, never missed a day, on time, looked and acted professional, and each evening left the place in perfect order. Before they finished, I carefully inspected the work and pointed out a few areas I thought needed to be redone. Without any hesitancy, Paul offered to have the areas redone to my satisfaction. He even provided me with a written 2-year warranty and told me to call him should there be any problem with the paint. I would give ProTect Painters a grade of A+, perhaps even an A++!!! That's how satisfied I am with ProTect Painters from Dracut, MA. I will used them again and intend to recommend them to others. I wish I could post a picture of the estate. It looks gorgeous.

Two years ago, we had Paul and his team paint the entire exterior of our house. As we had just replaced the cedar siding, Paul did an excellent job of priming and painting the house and trim. We also had Paul paint our shed to match the house. This time, we asked Paul the best course of action to enhance the appearance of the exposed, exterior concrete foundation. Over the years, portions of the skim coat had cracked and fallen away. Additionally, there were signs of rust near the exterior basement windows. Paul explained the best way to address the foundation and then outlined the types of products he would use to complete the project. Our deck is fairly large and was in need of re-staining and repainting. Here again, Paul and Tommy did a great job of preparation and completion of the deck project. It looks brand new! While Paul and Tommy were here, they also did a refresher coat of paint on the shed (which they painted two years ago). The elements had worn part of the paint, and Paul gave it a touch up coat. Each day they were here, they made sure to clean up and put away their materials so that the curb appeal was maintained throughout the project. They are professional, personable and thorough. We would highly recommend Paul and his team.

Paul and his crew scraped and painted the exterior of our house. This was no small task as the house hadn't been painted in 15-20 years, and we just completed a full remodel including new windows/door and a shed dormer. The guys showed up early every morning and worked diligently through out the day. The work area was cleaned, and raked and all equipment and supplies were neatly stacked in the back of the house when they left every night. The final product is amazing. The original color was a horrid brown that they covered beautifully in a light gray. They also did some light carpentry and replaced some shingles and boards that had seen better days. When they wrapped up the job the only clue that they were there was a beautiful new paint job. I would definitely recommend Paul Dauteuil and his crew to anyone who needs a paint job.

These guys are great. I really like them a lot. If they were mechanics, I would go to them. His crew is very hard-working. They are very conscientious. I like this guy and trust this guy a lot. We've had his crew here basically four times at house. I would never hire anybody else to do it. He keeps 90% of his crew he has for 10 years.

They were very efficient, neat about their work, and cleaned up well after themselves. They did their job quickly. They did a good, thorough job, and they were able to fix things along the way. Everything they did was satisfactory, their pricing was very reasonable and fair, and we were very satisfied with the final result.

Paul is the main contact at ProTect. His company has provided painting services in our neighborhood for years. We selected him based on a recommendation from a neighbor approximately 5 years ago, and since then he has done all of the exterior and interior paining for us. Since our house exterior is DRYVIT, Paul had to be very careful when selecting and applying the paints. As we started preparing for a party for our older daughter's wedding - one week in advance - we noticed that the wood trim around the windows (lot of them) was peeling, sometimes to the bare wood. Not only was this not good for the house, but we wanted everything to be the best for the party. We contacted Paul, and within two days he had an entire crew working on the house. Within three days, all of the trim was scraped and repainted. The house looked great, and the party was equally good. They used an oil based sealer. It takes a long time to cure so the deck is a little sticky yet. The old based sealer lasts longer. It was his recommendation. It looks good and they did a thorough job. They were very nice and timely. The product was not their fault. They were good at doing their work. I would use them again. I should have known that using oil based sealer would take a longer time to cure. It might dry when the fall comes.

I am pleased with the job they did. Paul is a very friendly guy. He made a very professional presentation. He had photographs of houses he had done. He was able to match a color we were looking for. The color was not a common color. He was able to match it exactly. He has a crew of six or seven guys. They were here for about a week. They were all incredibly polite and very hard workers. They were very exacting and did an impeccable job. I have nothing but praise for his entire crew. They get along very well and did a great job. The next time we have work done I will hire him again.
