+ 2 moreI would highly recommend, without reservation, San Marino. Everything went smoothly, all appointments were on schedule, and the quality of the work was outstanding. The price was reasonable and every detail was attended to. I could not be happier with their service.

+ 1 moreOur backyard needed a new retaining wall and patio... at least, we were hopeful we could afford to include a new patio in the scope of the work. We were referred to San Marino by a good neighbor, and the San Marino representative that came out to give us an estimate was on time and very nice, very professional. The pricing he quoted us was well outside out budget for both projects. Our asphalt paving service referred us to Four Seasons landscaping, which was far more affordable, so much in fact that we could get the new patio done in conjunction with the retaining wall. We were skeptical and thought the pricing was too good to be true. We asked the Four Seasons rep why their company costs so much less, and he acknowledged the difference, explaining that he and San Marino started in business around the same time, and the San Marino company just got really big so they can command big prices. Four Seasons' niche business is home landscaping, and they occasionally do a big commercial project. What's more, the San Marino owners hire his company for their landscaping projects. So, there you have it. Both are very good companies, but we are super happy with the job done by Four Seasons. We wish everyone well with their projects.

+ 0 moreThey were a sub-contractor for our landscape architect (who is excellent). We were doing a major landscape rework, which included a lot of plantings new lawn etc.. They sent a crew of three, of which only one person worked. A 2 day project turned into 4+ days. They had a person drive a small dump truck, who couldn't drive, and drove three times into a stone retaining wall in our driveway, and ultimately drove over the retaining wall, which resulted in the dump truck hanging over the wall. Once the truck got off of the wall, they pulled it up to the top of our driveway, let it idle for over a half hour with a fluid leak that leaked on the asphalt driveway, and softened the asphalt to a point where tires left a mark.

Description of Work: They were very responsive and came out to give me an estimate (which was very high) and showed up on the day promised to do the job. The workers were very pleasant. I hired them for a spring clean up, edging and mulching. |During the process a great many of my plants were trampled and others completely buried under the mulch. The edging was too shallow and the mulch was very sparse in some areas and heavy in others. There was also a significant amount of debris that was covered up by mulch (rather than removed). Overall I was not pleased with the quality of the work done. | |I notified them that i stopped payment on the check and dealt with the owner of the company's son who was initially very nice about the incident. We agreed that I would purchase and re-plant the lost plants and then deduct it from the bill and they would come out and re-edge and re-mulch as needed after I planted. |That process seemed simple and fair but got slightly unpleasant when I was threatened with legal action if the amount did not equal what was expected which was an insulting scare tactic. In the end,I re-planted and had someone else re-edge and add mulch as needed because i did not think they would do a good job. Ultimately, I paid them more than I would have considering the circumstances. |I think they would do a fine job if there were big plants and shrubs to work around, but believe they lack the experience to work in a garden with small and delicate plants.

Description of Work: These guys are great. This is the 2nd year that I have used them. They arrive on time and if something changes and they can;t make it, they will contact you and let you know. Their pricing is perfect for my budget. I would definitely recommend them to someone else. I can't say enough good thing s about them.

+ -1 moreThey called back relatively quickly, and we scheduled a time to meet. They were slightly late for the estimate, but were perfectly courteous when we discussed the project. The person from San Marino said to give him a week for the estimate, but I have not yet heard back despite several messages that left at their main office number. Not sure if they're too busy with other work or if the project is beyond the scope of what they can do, but the lack of communication on their end is disappointing.
Description of Work: Requested estimate for complete re-do including re-grading and seeding of my front and rear lawns.

+ 0 moreThe company called me back and came to look at the work on the same day. The owner was very professional and knowledgeable and completed all the work within the timeframe that they promissed. I purchased one tree and at least 15 different plants, bushes and shrubs and was told by the company that they would pick up and deliver everything for me for a small fee. I was grateful for their imput and very impressed with the final product.
Description of Work: I had approximately 12 plants and a tree planted. I also had my yard edged with new flower beds and mulch installed around entire house perimeter.
