M.Q Contracting

Be very wary of Mike Quilligan and his team. These guys can do very basic work at a reasonable price, but anything more complicated you should stay away. They did a few odd jobs for me because they were working in the neighborhood. These worked out okay - not perfect but good enough for the price. I then hired them for a larger masonry job. They ended up over-demolishing, including destroying parts of my house that are original and are extremely expensive to replace. When re-constructing, they did a poor job on the brick and mortar match (wrong size bricks, wrong color mortar) to the point that Mike agreed it didn't look right. After receiving a large payment for 50% of the project, they abandoned the job and have refused to refund my money. Mike strung me along telling me he'd be back for 4 months but has now stopped returning phone calls and text messages. I need to hire a new company to un-do the poor workmanship and replace it properly. I also have to incur the cost of replacing the original house features that were destroyed. And I am also out 50% of the original cost of the project, because Mike refuses to return the deposit, even though he has not held up his side of the contract. Obviously, I would not recommend MQ Contracting to anyone seeking a contractor for home improvement.

We recently bought a house, and it needed at lot of work outside including repairing the garage floor, a new driveway, and demolishing and rebuilding our front and back steps. Since we were doing all this work we figured we would add a new paver patio in the back as well. We bid out the job to several contractors and what struck me about MQ Contracting was that they were the quickest to turn around the quote, the quickest to answer any questions I had, and were the most reasonable priced. Mike and his guys did a terrific job - our yard with its new steps, walkway & Driveway look absolutely night and day difference than before. Our job wasn't small but Mike and his guys did it in timely fashion even after we had a few changes along the way. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend MQ Contracting to anyone, Thanks guys!
