I called them up and was told a salesman would call me back. no one called. These things happen from time to time. I called again a week later. I was told the same thing, a salesman would call me back, I'm still waiting on that call.

Pretty happy with these guys. Our heat stopped working on a cold weekend evening. We first called Sila who happily came by, charged us a lot of money, and said they couldn't fix the problem until later in the week after they ordered a part. Unhappy with this, we called MacFarlane. Tom, the on-call engineer, indicated he did actually have the part and came by the next morning after a long night of other calls. He had us back up and running in a couple hours. I was a bit frustrated they charged for the time to diagnose the problem again as we already knew what part had failed, but they were reasonable on the final price and got our heat up and running, which is what matters.

I have had them since 1985. If we run out of oil they run right over and build some. They give me a discount because I am such a long time customer. They are so responsive.

If they come out for an emergency they don't charge because we have a contract.

We have an annual contract with them. I've used them for over 30 years. I've never had a problem with our system. Their very professional and friendly.

I've used them for over 30 years for our units. They also supply the fuel. I've never ran out of fuel. I'm on a cycle and they show up. If I've ever had a problem, I call them and they get out here within 8-12 hours.

Went very well and the unit is amazing, just as we had hoped. I was a little underwhelmed with the set up of the stand for the condenser , but it's sturdy (for now) , and the work was completed punctually.

My A/C quit in the midst of a heat wave, and after reading great reviews, I called MacFarlane on Monday morning at 11. Dan was at my door by 8 am the next morning, quickly saw that all the freon had leaked out and called for another truck to come test for the source of the leak. I was skeptical, since I had never used the company before, but Frank C. showed up a little while later. The condenser was shot. Frank quoted me a fair price (I did my research) for the condenser; an hour or so later, 3 trucks arrived to take away the old and bring in the new, and I had A/C that afternoon. Every service person on the team was prompt, thoughtful, professional, and efficient. I never write reviews, but this company so deserves one.

We are a 12 unit building.When they set boiler up for removal,we indicated we could not go without hot water for a week,they indicated no problem.They proceeded to bring in 2 hot water tanks for temporary use! They had their electrician do his work,all this at no additional cost.We received a very good price for new boiler and new hot water tank.The entire staff,office,management,employees,communicated well,all very responsive.

Macfarlane bought out the company which were using earlier which is Brown's and our heating systems as absolutely cursed so we have a deep and loving relationship with the man who come to fix it we have seen a lot of them and it's the same men who was doing it in Brown's that is doing at Macfarlane and they have been great and that is why we kept Macfarlane because it's the same men and they know us and the system by now and everything they have tried I have not particularly happy with Macfarlane's billing they have the habit of sending you out the letter that said you never paid them we are going to charge you extra and they send it out like two or three days before the bill is actually due so the process them out every single time which I think is obnoxious.

I called to set up appointment for an estimate for replacing my heating system. Jim came on 4/07/16 to look over our system and stated that he would email me an estimate within the week. I did not receive an estimate and I called on 4/19/16 and spoke to Keeley explaining I was still waiting for an estimate. We confirmed that she had my correct email address and I stated if they were not interested please let me know, she stated that was not the case and she spoke to Jim and she said he would send the estimate. Surprise surprise I did not get the estimate nor any communication from them. Definitely not a company that you would want to work with as unresponsive. Why waste your time coming out to my home and wasting my time with the appointment if you were not going to follow through and give an estimate or state you were uninterested.

We decided to work with MacFarlane because they offered the most competitive pricing, had solid reviews and were very responsive to our initial request. After a few bumps in scheduling the actual work and the size of the new A/C unit, we are very happy that we decided to work with MacFarlane Energy. I'm very happy with MacFarlane. I've been with them for about two years now, I switched from another oil provider because my old provider was charging way too much for oil. MacFarlane oil prices are very reasonable. I do not have oil delivered automatically, I prefer to keep an eye on my tank and call when I need oil. They are very good at answering the phone quickly with a real live person, and then they will deliver my oil within a few days. So everything is working out so far. I have my furnace serviced every Spring, it's due for a tune up and it's making some weird squeaky noises, so it will be interesting to see if they can fix that. It also has a little thump when the airflow turns on, it's generally thought that one of the metal duct panels is loose, but no one has yet decided to see if they can find that (I don't even know if they can). So, if they can fix those little issues at my next service I will be extremely happy! I do not have any service contracts with them as yet, so can't comment on pricing but will let you know.

AC wasn't cooling sufficiently. Very professional and punctual. First person put too much gas. Called again after a week and they sent second person who took out gas. that fixed the issue. They didn't charge me for second visit and gave me credit for the extra gas they originally charged for, which was completely fair. I really like the company though a tad more expensive.

went well...they did their work on a Sunday...We needed help quickly on a day that it was hard to find someone and they responded quickly.

I was very impressed by their professionalism and punctuality. I had two furnaces go out that were new in June. The contractor (not MacFarlane) didn't respond to calls or messages, and I had no heat in my house. I decided to call MacFarlane based on the Angie's List reviews, and I was very pleased. They came out and repaired my furnaces quickly. The work was reasonably priced, and the technician was on time and very helpful. I know where to bring all of my future HVAC business.

I was not able to use them. Had a return call from a Hingham phone but they do not service Cohasset

They were great! They were prompt, on time, and polite.

They've been great. They've been prompt. There had been a couple of problems, they've been just tweaks and they've been really responsive about coming back and making sure it's working right. I know my husband was happy with it.

They did a good job with the work. They were on time for the service. There were issues that came after it was installed, and they came and took care of it any time the tenant called them. It was a very seamless service. They referred me to a contractor for some other work I needed as well.

Installers were punctual, neat, and stayed with the job for three days until finished. They returned two times to flush system check operation. Related dirt and grime was kept to a minimum and cleaned up at end of job.
