Excellent work done by John and his crew. They are professional, punctual, and cleaned up after these jobs. You'll enjoy meeting these guys and you'll have confidence in their workmanship. They answered all questions, clearly explained what they were doing, etc. I have used this company for much smaller jobs over the past 4-5 years. John and his son were very pleasant to work with. Received response promptly along with proposal for job. Work was completed in one day and all permits filed and closed by electrical inspector. Would definitely hire again.

John came out twice for me - the first to make sure the current electrical set-up was adequte for the new lamppost going in. He then came back after the post was installed to hook-up the lantern and electrical box on the post. He was fast to get the job done, and got it done well. Scheduling both visits was easy. Both he and the office staff are easy to work with. Highly recommend.

The job went very well. Quote was reasonable considering the scope. John and his team tackled it efficiently and got it done a day before expected. Lots of small patched holes throughout my house, but that's to be expected! Will inspire us to do repainting that needs to be done anyway, and they were careful to avoid destroying anything that couldn't be easily repaired like nice wood beams. Professional throughout and great communication throughout. Did walkthroughs before and during the job to make sure switches were where we wanted them and asked and provided updated quotes before doing needed add-ons. They also made time for an urgent job to hardwire my detectors in a 3-unit condo as I was selling, to get the place up to code before closing.

I called and explained my problem and John came out in about an hour and half and found the problem was in the lines coming into house and made the repair.

John was great! He arrived on time, was friendly, and did a very good job. Also the price was reasonable in relation to the work performed. I will definitely hire John again and plan on recommending him to friends.

Really happy that I read the positive Angie's List reviews and went with John Vespa. He was able to come to the house within a week to give us an estimate on various work, and was even patient enough to break some items out on the quote that we weren't ready to pull the trigger on. Finnoula was great about staying in touch about scheduling the work, and the guys (Dan and Eric, I think) showed up early on the scheduled day and got right to work. They hustled all morning, cleaned up everything as they went along. They even looked at a bulb issue I was having with an overhead bathroom fixture and were able to tell me why the replacement bulb I'd bought--which was the same size--wasn't working in the fixture (apparently, LED bulbs have a shorter tip so the lead wasn't connecting...I never would have known, they looked the same to me!). When the work was completed, they walked/talked me through everything, showing me how to work the overides for the motion sensor lights. I don't know a whole lot about electrical work, but looking at the wiring work alone, you can tell they clearly know their stuff. Found out as they were leaving that it's a family business, and I think that makes a huge difference. Nice family there who care about their work.

Excellent customer service. Arrived on time, answered all my questions and provided excellent alternatives to wring and overloading circuit breakers. Price was very reasonably. Will definitely use again.

Job went very well. I had worked with John Vespa for several months to develop proposals to my condo board of trustees to obtain their approval to install the Electrical Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). My third proposal was tentatively approved in March 2015, subject to working out the legal agreements necessary. Final approval came in early July. Meanwhile, John worked with the Dedham electrical inspector to resolve a couple of technical issues associated with the installation. Once I had approval and the technical issues were resolved, John gave me a formal fixed-price quote for the work. John and his assistant performed the installation as scheduled on August 9-10. They had set this date in early July, and it never changed. They worked through extreme heat on one day and rain on the next. One problem they ran into was the discovery of a large rock where we had planned to install the post for the charging unit. The electricians dug around until they found a location where they could dig down deep enough to correctly secure the post. This location entailed somewhat longer longer cable and conduit than what had been planned, but John honored the quoted price. The completed work was inspected on August 17, with no issues. Eversource installed the meter on August 30, and the system is now in use. John and his assistant were very pleasant to work with, patiently answered my questions and seemed not to mind my presence as they worked. The completed system looks professional and is working as intended.

I called him to quote replacing some lights and he was great about taking the time to answer my questions about other items in our home. Phil and Eric did our install and they were knowledgeable, professional and positive when a semi simple job of changing out lights became a larger job due to the original work not being done properly. After using Vespa Electrical my husband and I both agree we have found our electrical contractors for life.. We will continue to call on Vespa for all our future needs in our new home. John Vespa and his team have helped us multiple times over the last several years. They are incredibly professional and very good at what they do. The advice and direction they have provided us over the years has always been spot on. Finula does a great job with the scheduling and the team always shows up as planned. The experience with John Vespa Electrical Contractor could not have been smoother - I am very happy they were my first choice when I searched AL for an electrician. From my first phone call, they handled my request promptly and professionally. They provided several scheduling options within one week of my call. The electrician arrived on time and could not have been more professional, considerate and competent. He explained the considerations for the new outlet and possible alternatives. In the end, he was able to install the outlet without even making any holes in the sheetrock or ceiling - granted that was no guarantee and I would have been ok if that had been necessary. The point is that he went above and beyond to find the best, if not easiest, solution. When finished, he completely cleaned up and it looked as though he had never been there -- except the new outlet was ready for use! I could probably have shopped around and found someone cheaper, but all things considered, the price was more than worth it.

John was out here in the matter of a day and quickly resolved the issue......fixing the shorted wire as well as replacing the breaker. Overall no surprises, came here on time and stayed within the limits of the agreed upon quote given over the phone. I will definitely use him for future electrical projects!

The team arrived on time and they were very friendly. I walked through the jobs with them and they were able to share some options with me on the spot. They worked straight through the day and cleaned up the work areas after the job was done. They took the time to explain the work completed which I appreciated.

Phil got right to work when he arrived and other than taking his lunch break, he worked until he was done. He is a hard worker and is conscientious. We recommend him highly.

We had called another Angie's List electrician over two weeks ago, when we had a short in a circuit. Two very pleasant men came out and spent about 2 1/2 hours trying to find the short. When they couldn't find the source of the short and make repairs, they told us they could come back and rewire one part of the house (upstairs) and would figure out how to address the other part of the circuit at a later point. They also told me that someone would get back to me with a rewiring estimate (probably at least a day's work). They disconnected the wiring at the circuit breaker and, at the first junction box. When I located the source of the upstairs wiring, I wrote the contractor and asked that I be called to discuss the issue. Despite repeated telephone and email attempts to talk, they didn't respond - so time to move on. I then called several other electricians and was told they were too busy or, would get back to me in a week or two. This morning I went back to Angie's List and found John. Finula called me back within 10 minutes of my message and told me John could come at noon. He showed up when Finula said he would (miracle of miracles). I explained to him about what the previous electricians did and found (or didn't find). Within 20 minutes he had located the source of the problem and within an hour he had resolved the problem. I'm guessing he saved me thousands of dollars and flashlight batteries! John was pleasant, professional and obviously knows his stuff. I would not hesitate to hire him again and give him the very highest recommendation.

Quality service and attitude were outstanding. I wish I had found this team years ago. The electricity in my house would have been 100% safe and I would have saved $2000-$3000.

Excellent service! I contacted Vespa Electrical on Monday, July 19th to make electrical repairs on the outside of my mother's house in Milton. Finula responded to my email on that same day, complete with hourly rates and an estimate of materials. She then followed up with a service date. On Thursday, July 23rd, John Vespa not only repaired the outside damage on the ground level, but also he identified a serious problem leading up to the roof. He took care to secure that electrical work from top to bottom. Finally, John visited the cellar to make sure that all was in order. John was prompt, professional, and personable,and I highly recommend his company.

I almost never heap praise, but they really were great. John came out for the estimate, and his wife later emailed it to me and answered a few questions I had. I bought most of the supplies (casings, trims/lights and dimmer switch) myself to save money, and they were totally fine with that. On the day the work was scheduled to be done, Phil and Eric (their sons) arrived at 8:30 a.m. and got to work. Adding recessed lighting into an existing ceiling isn't easy. It turned out that I have a double-ceiling (meaning a previous owner installed a new ceiling over the original, rather than remove the original), which made the installation a bit more challenging. However, Phil and Eric handled it in stride and good humor. In all, the job took about about 6 hours, including cleanup. The lights/room look great. My wife, who has been wanted additional light in the living room for years, is thrilled. Vespa is truly a family business, and they were a pleasure to work with.
