Overall, Fred did a good job. He was responsive in providing quote and explained details of insulation work to be performed and energy-efficiency benefits. My chief complaint was that when his crew installed the insulation in the front walls of house, they sloppily removed a tremendous swath of shrubs running along the house. As a result, it created a large, unsightly chasm where shrubs were previously located. When I discussed this with Fred, he apologized for not telling me at the time of the quote that a large amount of shrubs would need to be removed and that he could have given me the option of removing them myself. We settled on $200 in compensation to replace four shrubs.

It was the perfect contractor experience. The pre-work communication was excellent through both telephone and e-mail . The crew arrived on time as scheduled and got right to work. It was a rainy day and they laid down protection for the floors in the home. The crew was super customer oriented and communicated with me throughout the day. They worked non-stop until the job was complete. We were very satisfied with the quality of the work and the efficiency of the crew. Part of the work included blown-in insualation which by its nature can be messy. The crew cleaned up leaving the house as it was when they arrived. I would recommend The Worthmore Group and would use them myself without reservation.

The guys were very punctual and polite. They worked all day with just a short lunch break. I will be having them back for some more work in the future.

We found The Worthmore Group through the Mass Save program. Then I checked them out on Angie's List. Thumb's up all the way around. As others stated Fred Hopps was wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable. He was on-site with his very friendly crew for the duration of the project and worked fast and tidily. Some insulation blew in through an uncovered cable outlet in the wall and made a bit of a mess which they were very diligent in cleaning up. I would definitely work with them again and I know we will! :) Thanks, Fred!

The initial assessment went very well, with the professional being very understanding of my having two young children tagging along. I had received multiple quotes for the job, and asked them follow up questions which they were happy to answer for me. After we decided to use their services, we were very happy with the response time given that it was their busy season. The day of the job (it only took one day) went seamlessly, and the team were delightful, respectful and professional. A very pleasant experience overall, and we will not hesitate to call them again if we need more advice or services.

I wanted to have a room in my basement insulated. I left multiple messages on their voicemail, all of which were not returned. This company is very non-responsive.

The crew showed up on time to start the job, all crew members were polite and knew what they are doing. Once they finished the job they cleaned up the jobsite.

I believed I was paying for the thermal images of my house and, in advance of the appointment, questioned with the person scheduling the visit whether I would receive the resulting pictures and was told I would. My appointment was initially scheduled for first thing but I was asked if it would work to move the appointment to 11 AM. I work close to home so I agreed. I was home for the agreed upon time of 11 AM but received a call at 10:55 stating he was running late (due to the appointment I agreed to be scheduled instead of mine!). He arrived 45 minutes later. If he'd called my cell at even 10:45 I could have easily adjusted the plan and stayed at work another half hour. We walked around the house spot checking the wall temperature at least once in every room in addition to the cellar and attic and a back section of the house. I neither planned the appointment for when my husband could be there too nor took notes on Fred's observations as I believed I would receive all the images that would show the problem areas. I had 3 goals: 1) assess whether replacement windows would be beneficial 2) for my husband to address the problem areas he could take care of and 3) consider having the parts he couldn't do done, depending upon the price. The estimate was $5440 for the whole house to be insulated and $495 for the perimeter of the foundation to be done but no details about the cost to do specific problem areas. The promo said "free estimates" but I feel I paid $49 to allow them into my home to generate an estimate. The images I thought I was buying were not for MY use but solely for their benefit to create an estimate to do the whole house, not specific areas.

These guys are amazing!!! After a series of estimates from less than impressive, and sometime comedic, contractors, I finally met Fred from the Worthmore Group. I was a bit rude to him at the beginning, expecting him to be another uninformed salesman who knew less than I did. Not so. He wasn't a salesman but a real energy expert who knew exactly what the house needed. I hired him on the spot and they were in the attic the very next week, removing some sloppy fiberglass batts thrown in by a previous company, sealing all the holes from lights and fans and pipes and such, and blew in brand new cellulose. Lots of cellulose! I highly recommend the Worthmore Group and fully intend to hire them again when it comes time to re-side the house and upgrade the insulation in the walls.

No work performed. Job was likely too small to consider - my best guess. FYI, the up-front cost of the "special" went to Angie. Vendor did not get any of the money.

These guys are smart! They really understand insulation and know how to do it right. Definitely recommend them over several other insulation companies we have used because they really understand why they are doing what they are doing. They are not just going through the motions to get paid. We liked them so much that we had them come back and do some additional work for us. Found a way to install a bathroom fan upstairs for 1/5th of the price of another contractor by avoiding going through the roof. They understand when you don't want to blow a lot of money but want to get things done. I'm giving them all A's even though it took a while on responsiveness because it took a long time for national grid to approve the work, and by the time they sent the work order to Worthmore group, they weren't looking for it and it took additional time for the job to get started. If national grid didn't require so many auditing processes then Fred Hopps would have been ready for the order when it came in. I actually called Fred and worthmore group and asked at one point if he had received the work order yet from National grid and he hadn't. I really like these guys and highly recommend them over the work of anybody else we have used up to this point.

He was a very nice guy. He went around the house and told a lot of things about my insulation and gave me a price on a couple parts of the job. He did ran out of the battery thing for his wall but that was inconsequential and possible we'll do the job with him I'm not sure yet.

First let me say that if you are considering getting your home weatherized or beefing up your insulation call Mass Save for a free energy audit. It's FREE! And they pay for 75% of the work. Free evaluation and 75% off the job.... are you kidding me? I'm in! So... we were freezing in our new (120 year old) home. After completing the energy audit with Mass Save, we reviewed the provided list of contractors to get our insulation work done. Based on Angie's List reviews, we selected the Worthmore Group... one of the better decisions we've made. Dan contacted us to schedule the work immediately and they were there within the week. Paul, Albie, Corey and Phil spent three days at our home painstakingly completing the work listed as well as several other little things they found along the way. They carefully removed the siding to drill the holes for the dense pack and replaced it neatly. A couple of pieces split during removal and were replaced with new siding by the crew. They custom built foam core inserts for some weird little attic entry doors, and generally tightened up this drafty old place. My biggest praise is the noticeable change in temperature after they were done. My kitchen has NEVER been above 62 degrees in the winter, no matter how high the heat was set. It's now a balmy 67 degrees in there with no change in the thermostat. I'm gonna call it a success! I have three little boys that are curious and outgoing, and really appreciate contractors that are kind and patient with their questions. The crew leader Paul was wonderful, he explained what they were doing, and why....he was patience personified. You can tell a lot about a company by their employees, and these guys were wonderful. The owner of the company, Fred, came out a couple of times to check on the progress and see if I had any questions. He had recommendations for a couple of other things they could do to increase our energy efficiency in the future, but said things looked pretty good overall. I would highly recommend the Worthmore Group to anyone looking to weatherize their home.

We moved into our new home last fall and this winter showed us several insulation issues including two poorly insulated kneewall areas that were making it difficult to keep the bedrooms warm. I contacted Dan at The Worthmore Group, contact was easy and professional. He came out to the house and provided estimates for the job we ended up doing and a larger insulation job that we will take on at a later date. We scheduled the work and Dan and his team showed up promptly. They did an excellent job, were respectful of our home and property, and fully cleaned up after themselves. The work has been a big success - the rooms are noticeably warmer than before the job. All in all, it was an excellent experience working with Dan and The Worthmore Group and we will definitely be doing business with them again.

They have made a huge difference in this house. I walked in from outside and you could actually tell it was warmer. They insulated the doors, the attic and checked all the windows.
