We have purchased many lighting products and ceiling fans from this establishment. Generally speaking I like their products and the sales people have all been very nice, until today . Everything we’ve purchased from them has been fine except for an expensive ceiling fan which we bought a number of months ago and while I admit it is out of warranty it was never installed because we were doing construction until the spring. Therefore we did not know until the summer came and we finally turned it on that this fan does not work properly. If it had been installed when we first purchased it we would have known right away and brought it back right away. As it is we found out rather late after purchasing it that this fan doesn’t work. It change speeds by itself or it doesn’t go on at all. When we called light and leisure they sent us to their customer service person who was absolutely no help at all and told me he was not the person to talk to and that somebody else would call me back. No one else ever called me back. Then he claimed that he emailed warranty information to my husband. We have checked email constantly and our spam account and nothing was ever emailed to us. They refused to call us back and sent us to the manufacturer. We called the manufacturer to help us troubleshoot it and they were unable to help us. They told us to call their electrician who services the fans. We did call him and he never returned our phone calls. I became very frustrated and called the store several times and they told me they could do nothing for me. So today my husband and I drove over there to talk to them in a reasonable manner to see if they could help us. The formally pleasant sales person was incredibly rude, told us that he could do nothing for us and that if we came in there thinking he could help us we were mistaken. He actually said, I don’t make the product I’m just a sales person. I work in retail and I don’t make the products I sell it but my boss and I stand behind our products. I told him that I would never ever treat a customer this way nor would my boss. if our product has something wrong with it we will take it back and deal with the manufacturer. Then he proceeded to walk away from us, he practically fell over himself trying to escape into the back room. I have asked them on several occasions if I could speak to a manager or the owner and they told me that they are unavailable all of the time. I asked a woman on the phone the other day who was very nice to me and understood my frustration how she feels that the managers she works for probably make a lot more money than she does but refuse to interact with any customers were having a problem. Her polite agreement seem to indicate that she felt the same way and I doubt this is the first time this is happened. I’m not sure what the managers do because they certainly have no interaction with customers whatsoever and leave the sales people to uphold their horrible customer service policies. I am a very reasonable person, I was very polite and I was going to offer that perhaps we could return the fan and purchase another fan and pay the difference in money even if it was more expensive. But we were not given a chance to do that. He told us to go away and to expect nothing from them. So now we have been left on our own to try and deal once again with the Casablanca fan company who may or may not be able to help us. If they cannot I can either live with a $450 work of art on our ceiling that is not a fan because it doesn’t operate or I can pay our electrician all over again to take it down, buy another ceiling fan and pay him to put it up again. I will never ever shop there again and I suggest that no one else does as well. Their lack of customer service was absolutely appaling.

Below, please refer to the customer service email that was sent on 6/12, 6/21, and 6/22. Our customer service department also spoke with [Member Name Removed]multiple times. The customer's claims that the emails were not received are highly suspect. We believe they were received; none of them bounced back, and the addresses were verified on multiple occasions. The way our staff was treated by Ms [Member Name Removed]bordered on harassment. Mr [Member Name Removed] and Ms [Member Name Removed]came into the showroom on 6/23, once again demanding that the warranty be processed at store level. As explained on multiple occasions, the warranty is with the manufacturer, hence the term "manufacturer's warranty". We gave Mr [Member Name Removed] and Ms [Member Name Removed]all the information they needed to process the warranty, but they were insistent that Light 'n Leisure take care of the warranty on their behalf. This fan was purchased one year prior to them expecting an in-store return. We stand by our decision to refer the customers back to the manufacturer after one year. We pride ourselves on having great prices as well as a large selection of fans & lights displayed in our beautiful showrooms. Additionally, our well-trained sales associates spend the necessary time to help customers choose the right fixtures for their homes. I understand you recently had an issue with your Casablanca ceiling fan , purchased in August of last year. Where this is well past Casablanca's 90 day over the counter exchange period, you will need to contact the manufacturer directly for assistance. The light fixtures are of good quality, but beware... their online and store prices are not the same. The online prices are cheaper. When asked about this, their reasoning was to "compete with online retailers". I understand what they're saying, but instore and online prices should match. I don't think they'd even match the online prices in the store. Also, there are many light fixtures hanging around the store that are on clearance, but they're usually on clearance because they're missing pieces. I'd buy from here again, but make sure you're you research what you want online first and know what the fair price is. The 1/2 off angies list "big deal" helped bring down the cost to what I considered a good deal.

That went fine. It was just for a product. They were very helpful. They took the big deal. I think it wasn't their intention to sell multiples but they honored that deal. I was happy with the product that I bought. I paid $150 aside from the big deal purchase. I have to order the products. It's in a working process. Some of them has already been delivered. If the deal is very good, I would use them again in the future.

It worked out great. I got new lighting and ceiling fan. They have a good selection. When the lights came in, they didn't call me to let me know they were in. I had to call them.

I had no problems. The price was fair, they shipped exactly what I ordered, and the lamps arrived in fine condition. This is important when considering that several of the lamps had glass shrouds.

Can you tell me exactly what type of issue you are having with your fixtures? In your review you mentioned that you could not really tell what you were ordering by looking at the photos online. Since you live in Salem and describe having difficulties ordering from our online catalog, I wanted to make you aware that in additon to our website, we have a large showroom located in Danvers with over 3000 lighting fixtures on display.
