Hired DJ on a recommendation from our plumber. What a mistake! Only one unsupervised worker showed up to demo and rebuild our front porch. Work was good but very slow and unsupervised. Contractor never returns calls our shows up when he promises, except to collect money, then he is right on time. Was supposed to start our back deck but went to Vermont instead to work on his own place. Tried to get in touch with his for over a week then recieved just one text from him claiming he had started another big job and we would have to wait another month to get our deck done. Very unprofessional and never shows up to do work himself or even check in with us or his one worker. Steer clear of this guy if you expect any kind of dedication to you project. Now back to square one finding a new company during the height of the season when most contractors are already booked.

At this point in New England, we've had record snow. And on the date that I contacted DJ Genzler, I also contacted at least ten other companies that claimed to provide this type of service. Four responded and DJ was the only one that promised to get the work done. He came out the same day to assess the situation and give me a pricing quote. He thought he'd be able to do the work later that day or the next, but it actually ended up being two days later due to the high volume at this point. We were just thankful that he could do it at all, and he even did it on a Saturday. We had ice and snow buildup on our roof and a leak along one of our windows. He came out and spent over three hours hard at work, using a variety of tools to break through the ice, shoveling the roof (which is pretty high), a snow blower for our walkway and luckily managed to get it done hours before yet another storm. He was unable to get it completely cleared, but no one could do that without damaging the roof. It was an appreciable improvement and had we had the foresight to do it sooner, it would not have been in such bad shape. DJ was not much of a chit chatter, being pretty quick and straight forward in our two face to face interactions. Clearly, he was all about getting the information he needed and getting all of his jobs done. That was fine, since again, we contacted him at a time that all of New England was likely looking for his type of services and troubleshooting leaks. He communicated well with me via text messaging. He kept me informed about his expectations in terms of timing of services. I would certainly use him for the same or different work in our home in the future.
