Doug's Fence

He was very helpful in showing me fence options. He was prompt, and the job was done relatively quickly. The fence was very sturdy, and it was exactly how I wanted it to be. He paid special attention to matching it to the fence it connected with. In dealing with him, I found him gruff, and he took cell phone calls while we were having conversations, which was irritating. Although he was very interested in what I wanted, I found him somewhat difficult to communicate with, but the fence was well done.

Doug made the initial estimate appointment. Doug called to reschedule the appointment. Doug never showed up to do the estimate (after apologizing and promising he would when he rescheduled).

I am a yesterday kind of woman. Doug was so fast, I was thrilled. I expected to wait my turn as this is a busy time of year for outdoor projects. Imagine my delight to find that in less than a week we were all fenced in!

Our experience was how it should be when you need to hire anyone to do any type of work in or around your home. I had to call him with questions multiple times so I knew we were talking about the same result. Doug was absolutely fine with answering my questions. When we hired Doug he was on time to check the job site. The next day Doug called to say materials were ready and we scheduled for the next day to complete the job. Doug was at the house unloading his truck first thing in the morning. We came home from work and the job was done. Fabulous job-quality materials. Cedar was used to replace the old fence with sturdy latch and hinges. We hope when we do other projects for our home we have the pleasure of getting the same type of person as Doug. Doug's estimate was one of three. His fell in the middle of the three. It was his professionalism and character that made it easy to choose Doug's proposal.

I got Doug's name from ServiceMagic, and he had me on the phone literally 3 minutes after I hit the return key to send my request. He was extremely prompt and professional, cleaned up the yard beautifully once done, and always kept us updated with any issues and problems encountered. He came promptly when we had agreed he should, and did exactly what he said he would do. He did most of the work himself - he was there working and overseeing his crew every day, and made sure everything was perfect. His price was best by several thousand dollars. He had the entire fence COMPLETED from start to finish, in 5 days.
