Brendan St John

I interviewed 35 mason and landscaping companies. Brendan was recommended by someone locally who knows everyone. I am surprised to see other reviews because with my job, Brendan and Jose were on time, got my job right and the price was in line with what I expected. The last day I needed a little extra drainage stone but he was busy with another job and will bring it soon. I trust him. We had dug up all the soil and prepared well for him to come in to do the work.

Hired Brendan for a couple of projects. He has one decent mason but the rest of his folks are nuckle heads. He always collects money far in advance of when he starts and job progress. He finished our stairs but we realized the job had some issues. He came back looking for more work and I pointed out the areas he needed to fix. Said he would and collected 1/3 for the new work. That was 10 weeks ago and despite 8 phone calls (none returned) NOTHING. I strongly recommend using someone who runs their business like a business.

It ws an excellent experience. Brendan and his crew turned up at the agreed-upon time and immediately got to work demolishing the old rotten stairs. Then they build new ones from granit stone and concrete and topped it all off with beautiful bluestone slabs. It's quite a work of art ! Then they repaired and cleaned the front walkway. All work was done in a knowledgable and professional manner. I would not hesitate to use him again the next time I need masonary work done.

Brendan St. John was recommended to us by a neighbor. He came to the house and gave us a very reasonable quote for the work. He collected a 1/3 down payment and then we waited two weeks for someone to show up and begin the job. Brendan never worked on the job; he sent a varying number of different young men who appeared sporadically without announcement and who appeared to have little experience in the job at hand. We made a midway payment as the job progressed. Upon delivery of one of the replacement slabs of granite, the piece broke coming off the truck and the young man who was making the delivery stated, ?Oh well, I guess I?ll have to go get another one.? We were out of town towards the last few days of the job, and upon our return, we were met by a request for final payment, which we unfortunately made. The granite steps were in place, but upon closer inspection, were of different sizes and shades of color; the placement of the stairs was not straight. The pointing was sloppy and the color of cement used did not match the stone well and planter. I made repeated telephone calls and requests to Brendan to have him come down and view the job, which he admitted he had never seen. He promised to come down and make it right, but he never did. After that time, he never returned my phone calls and his cell number would not take new messages.
