Overall the result was fantastic and often more than I had expected. Both the contractor and his subcontractors did whatever had to be done to achieve a completely refurbished exterior. However, I did have some reservations during the process as at times the work was sloppy and it did take considerably longer than I had anticipated but everything was corrected and the results were certainly worth it. The prime contractor, St Joe's, subcontracted the painting to Pastor Robert M (Mike) Jones of the Mission Church in Springfield and his crew: a better group of people it would be hard to find, all very religious and most very dedicated, which meant no smoking, swearing or loud music and that was greatly appreciated. Pastor Jones is an amazing manager and a very likable person intent on satisfying the customer at any cost, and he did. The glazing was subcontracted to Mark MacDonald who was fastidious in his attention to detail, refusing to patch and insisting on completely re-puttying all 8 3rd floor sash windows, 3 first floor sash windows and 2 large fixed windows, whether they needed it or not. Mark is a really skilled glazier and again intent on satisfying the customer regardless of the situation. Joe, the Joe in St. Joe's, had the same attitude as his subcontractors and was a very likable person. We appreciate all the effort he put into the project. These are the only contractor/subcontractors I have ever given a bonus to over and above the contract price but there is no doubt there were moments during the project. However, they were far outweighed by the result and the personalities involved. Thanks to all.
