The sheathing on much of the roof is boards, not plywood, and there are many places where there are spaces between the boards, so they should have put drop cloth in the attic. Because they didn't, lots of grit and torn shingles ended up on top of the fiberglass batts in the attic. They did not repair or replace damaged boards. They didn't recommend or install roofing felt under the shingles. One section of roof has a very low slope and should have had membrane installed under the shingles, yet they didn't recommend or install membrane. At the roof vent, the shingles don't overlap the boot flange sufficiently. The valleys were shingled over. The ridge vent does not extend far enough. One of the gutters is shorter than the roof edge. The gutters were installed too low and water was jumping over the top and behind the gutters. An extension had been put at the top of one of the downspouts that caused the water to run down the outside of the downspout. The drip edge did not deflect water away from the house but behind the gutters and down the side of the house nor, at the gable ends, did it overlap the aluminum that sheathes the trim that is beneath the drip edge. The initial quote indicated that they would ventilate the soffits, yet that disappeared from subsequent quotes, although I didn't indicate that I wanted it removed. As for responsiveness, when I notified them that not much water was going into the gutters when it rained, they didn't come out for one or two weeks to have a look at the gutters, at which point they decided they were hung too low. Yet it took them close to 2 months after the job was complete to come out to rehang the gutters and correct the downspout extension. That solved the downspout problem and the problem of water jumping the top of the gutters, yet water was still getting behind the gutters. I notified them that water was still getting behind the gutters but they never responded. So they didn't recommend the roof I needed. Poor installation. Poor or no response.
Description of Work: The Lalibertes stripped off the old shingle roof, extended the roof on one side of the house, and installed a new shingle roof.

They do building and remodeling. My experience with them went very well. I had a huge addition put on and their estimate was in the middle. I didn't pick the highest or the lowest. I had to do custom work the way the addition was coming on so it had to be someone that knew what they were doing and they did an excellent job. They had a lot of ideas which I would have not thought of to add in. They built custom book cases and fire place was all handmade and custom built. Their price was very good and the quality was there for the cost. I am having them come back in the next few weeks to do some more work.
Description of Work: I used La Liberte Custom Carpentry to put on an addition. They did custom carpentry work.
