Before offering a proposal, Barry McElroy surveyed the roof more carefully than any of the four other roofers that bid the job. Trinity's services were provided through the most professional, detailed contract I have seen in the industry. He isolated each portion of the work, indicated whether it was essential, desirable or optional (could be deferred), explained each piece of it carefully and once we agreed on a plan, he adhered to the contract scrupulously. He accompanied the contract proposal with photos of the roof showing the work to be done, and provided similar photos upon completion. Other roofers did not make the same detailed inspection before providing services. Although some of them provided lower estimates and probably do fine work, it was clear that their modus operandi was either a bait and switch, "noticing" more necessary work once they began, or else an incomplete job. For twenty years, our previous roofer had been charging a lot of money for substandard work. As a result, I needed not only a roofing job but also a plastering job. It was a pleasure to find a straight talking roofer in whom I had trust. He has continued to maintain the roof annually, replacing slate tiles as needed, usually based an e-mail citing a specified cost per tile with an estimate of the number of tiles needed and a cap on cost. From time to time, when there is a particular problem, Barry has always been responsive - except for one occasion when he was in Ireland on holiday and no one answered his phone for a period of weeks. Barry was rarely on time for appointments. After a while, I used to assume he would arrive at least 1/2 hour late and was never disappointed. Since he is chatty, he generally stayed somewhere too long, and therefore arrived late and talked more than he should were his objective to keep on schedule. On the other hand, his crews were always good workers, punctual, respectful, courteous and clean.
Description of Work: Trinity's services are extremely professional. He did extensive repairs on my roof and has maintained the roof ever since.
