R.E. Gaffney Contractors

He did little of the work and then quit on the job. He took $6,000 dollars and refused to refund the money. I will pursue him legally.

Mr Robert Gaffney owner of "Gaffney Contractors LLC" signed a Contract on 01/09/13, for a full project total of $30,000. The demo and reconstruction of the basement included (per the signed contract):Demolish basement in its entirety. Remediate all mold affected areas. Reconstruct basement with an open floor plan in mind. Create a bathroom, laundry, room and area for the freezer.- Work includes waterproofing of basement walls and waterproofing of the floor. Reconfiguration of the stairs, electrical up to code, recess lighting. Finishes to be sheetrock walls and ceilings, pre-primed pine trim. Flooring to be determined based on findings from the demo. *Note* The area under the deck will be assessed in the Spring. *Note* This includes bringing all current plumbing up to code.On January 9th, 2013, I paid 1/3 of the total ($10,000.00) as a deposit was due at the signing of the contract. As of March 7, 2013, which is the last time we heard from Mr. Gaffney, he had NOT finished the demolition of the basement. His team only worked for 5 days and after Mr Gaffney did not come back. He did not answer my calls, nor texts, nor emails. I went to his office many times and nobody was there.
