A Professional Painting Company offering a wide range of interior painting, exterior painting and related services. We approach every project as if we were painting our own home or business.
The team was clean and very detailed. We also had them do minor repairs on some wood rot. The owner was very good about checking in and came by after the job was complete to ensure we were happy.

We couldn't have been happier with the job that New Coat Painting did. Matt came over a few days before the painting was scheduled to confirm all the details for the project. We had already picked the colors but he offered some helpful suggestions for other areas we are considering painting in the future. The two painters arrived right on time in the morning and were very considerate. They were careful with moving furniture out of the way and protecting it. They removed all the hardware from the walls and put everything back in place when they were finished. I was very impressed with the quality of the work and how quickly the job was completed. They did two coats and had everything back to normal before noon. Matt came over as they were finishing the job to inspect the work and ask if I had any questions. Overall it was an excellent experience and I won't hesitate to hire New Coat Painting again for any needs in the future.

All I'll say is "Buyer Beware". Matt presents as an earnest, endearing guy and actually, he did an adequate job on the first of 2 jobs-- painting the exterior of the house. It's a pretty large house, but he did it on budget, in a little over a week. Hopefully spray painting lasts as long as brush painting. My only complaint was anything growing within 6+ feet of the house was totally trampled. During our final walk-around, Matt wanted to discuss his doing the apartment conversion I was planning inside. He looked it over, sent an estimate right away, and proposed starting the following week. Although his contract left out a lot of detail, he convinced me we could work through them as we went along. So I dropped everything to find & buy all the appliances, fixtures, backsplashes, flooring, paint, etc. Matt has a couple terrific workers who worked thru weekends, so in only 12 days, only about a third of the job remained. However, he had become increasingly quiet, tense, and concerned about pushing the guys to go faster. The work got increasingly sloppier-like they didn't do any prep on the woodwork, painted windows shut, didn't repair dings & dents before painting, did careless patches, left a lot of gaps & drips, etc, etc (see pics). Doors didn't close, original molding was tossed- replaced with cheap junk, and increasingly, things that were included initially, were incurring extra charges. When I'd ask for things to be fixed, he became increasingly annoyed. When I'd ask why he was so tense or encouraged him to talk to me, he'd just mutter about unexpected expenses and overages. Although the job had no deadline, when one coat of floor stain did not adequately cover some dark stains, I asked that a 2nd coat be applied. It was a Sunday and I suggested everybody could use a day off anyway. Instead of sending one guy over to apply a 2nd coat, Matt sent 2 guys- to clear out all their tools. I was dumbfounded I?d paid Matt 1/3 to start and another third 2/3rds through. Coincidentally(??), the day after the 2nd check cleared, he used the excuse of my asking for a 2nd coat of stain to abandon the job? leaving behind pipes and wires hanging out of the walls, piles of demo rubble, a terrible floor job, and all the cabinets & appliances clogging the garage. It wasn't until I figured the costs to finish the job that I saw it would likely cost more than what I would've owed. So then I figured how much he'd probably spent to date- and realized he'd underbid the job. Abandoning it resolved his problem-- at my expense. The irony is, I'd often asked Matt to discuss whatever was making him so tense and uncommunicative. If he had shared his concerns &/or overages, I would've paid more than he'd estimated because I'd seen how hard his guys worked and knew they deserved it. But he never gave me the chance. One particularly worrisome issue that's come up interviewing new contractors is that potentially he was supposed to have gotten permits for the work they did (he'd said they didn't). I could really be screwed.. So "Buyer Beware". His estimates are very attractive, but expect to get what you pay for. And if things aren't working out well for Matt, his earnest promises & having a legal contract will mean nothing

I take great pride in my professionalism and stand behind the quality of my work. I have invested in building a great team and in this unfortunate situation I was forced to pull them off of the job to get them out of a verbally abusive environment. It was a last resort after putting up with more than anyone should have to. It was an extreme situation that I hope to never experience again. I would have preferred to keep this private but it is difficult having someone try to tarnish the reputation that I have worked so hard to build.

Matt Veteto, New Coat Painting did a great job advising on how to restore a botched job by another vendor. He was meticulous with preparing and restoring the common area walls, doors and floors in this community. He worked well with the residents and provided a quality crew who got the job done on time.
