APPLETON ANTIQUE LIGHTING

When clearing out Mom's 100 yr old house, we found many antique treasures. One was a torciere (1920's floor lamp). It had spent the past 42 yrs in an old un-insulated attic and I have no idea where it was hidden before that. It was rusty, dirty, and rather junk-like. It required a lot of work and complete re-wiring. I was in need of an expert who was knowledgeable enough about the original period to bring it to life again. I found Appleton Lighting to be antique expert that I needed. They restored the lamp to it's original former appearance. It has a lovely art deco personality in cream painted metal, brass trim and onyx weighted base. They did a wonderful job, they were professional and very helpful with suggesting the right approach. I also had two antique boudoir lamps which needed similar help and they rewired those with cloth covered wire - just like the original! Appleton's selection of lampshades and finials made it easy to complete the classic look. These lamps have been in my family for generations and now they will continue to be handed down.

The quality was excellent. The hours are not great. He got it done quickly and it is working fine. He is professional.

Finished the work in one day, which was very nice, but was pricey. My computer was down which is why I didn't check Angie's List beforehand.

YOU PAY FOR HIS SERVICE, IT'S NOT CHEAP, BUT HE STANDS BEHIND HIS WORK AND IT IS EXCELLENT. IF YOU STATE A DEADLINE HE WILL DO HIS BEST TO MEET IT BUT BE AWARE THAT OTHERWISE IT CAN TAKE MONTHS. WELL WORTH THE WAIT, AND THEY ALSO HAVE GREAT SHADES AND ACCESSORIES. HE GIVES VERY GOOD DECORATING ADVICE AND REFERRALS TO OTHER TOP QUALITY CRAFTSMAN. LUCAS AND HIS WIFE JANE ARE A RARE TREASURE IN THE WORLD OF POTTERY BARN AND CRATE AND BARREL.
