+ 1 moreI first took a few quotes from several providers. Sunshine did not come out lowest, but seemed the most amenable to my needs. I did not want to hire someone to throw some fertilizer on my lawn and walk away, come a few weeks later, throw some more and repeat the process mindlessly until the agreed count is reached. I wanted someone to look at the needs of my yard and come to an agreement and a plan as to what needs to be done, adjust the plan (and the cost) as needed as we go and establish a long term relationship that allows me to keep the contractor accountable for results. While at evaluation time Sunshine made some promises and verbal quotes for replanting some of the grass, fixing some of the bare spots, based on which I hired them over other cheaper and still A rated providers, these extra services were not included in the contract nor were they discussed later, but a soil test was included in the contract and paid for. Sunshine, performed the fertilization thoroughly and according to schedule, but this is pretty much the only good thing I have to say about them. They forgot about the soil test, then they claim to have collected the sample and run the test (after my repeated calls) and claim to have done it, but I never saw the results. At the end of the year they agreed to refund the money for the test, but I did not get a cent to this day. I specifically asked to be notified before they plan to come and perform services, so that I can cover the vegetable garden and the decorative plants that abut the lawn. Of 5 applications, they did this only once. Every other time, they just left a notice that they have performed the services in my mailbox. This resulted in killing at least one of my lilac saplings.

Description of Work: Sunshine Landscape showed up on time for appointment, but did not follow through with detail of services/work to be performed for the $1,000 verbal quote provided. He clearly was not interested in performing the work and referred to the fact that he had five other customers to visit that day. I had joined Angie's List to avoid wasting my time with service providers who do not follow through. |

They do all the extra things like shoveling my roof, retrieving my recycle box from a huge snow mound and digging out my newspaper. This is a top notch team. Steve, the owner, answers his cell phone and being responsive to my needs.

Description of Work: I've used Sunshine extensively over the past year. They have transformed my yard and landscaping, as well as doing extra tasks such as power washing and restoring an old brick retaining wall. In the winter they have been very responsive with plowing and shoveling. The owner Steve Crowe has monitored and pitched in for all the work. This summer I intend to use them again for further landscaping and of course for the maintenance of my yard.
