 + -1 moreWHEN INVITED TO LOOK AT THE NEWLY INSTALLED FLOORS, WE FOUND FOOD WRAPPERS, A HALF-EATEN SANDWICH, SODA BOTTLES, AND A CIGARETTE BUTT EXTINGUISHED ON OUR NEW HARDWOOD FLOORS. WHEN CONFRONTED, THE OWNER SAID HE WOULD INSTRUCT HIS WORKERS TO BE NEATER. LATER WE FOUND THE WORKERS SMOKING IN THE HOUSE AGAIN. HIS STAFF BROKE A MARBLE THRESHOLD IN HALF, THIS WAS NOT FIXED UNTIL WE POINTED OUT THE DAMAGE. HE REPLACED THIS AND ANOTHER LIKE IT WITH WOODEN PIECES THAT DON'T FIT, MATCH OR WEAR AS WELL. WHEN THE WORK WAS COMPLETED WE FOUND SAWDUST EVERYWHERE, POLYURETHANE DRIPS ON MOST OF THE MOULDINGS AND SPILLED ON CONCRETE STEPS, UNEVEN EDGING IN SOME ROOMS, AND MANY SANDER SCRATCHES ON FLOOR LEVEL MOULDINGS. WE DECIDED NOT TO ASK HIM TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS. HE DID NOT DISPOSE OF ANY OF THE CONSTRUCTION WASTE CREATED BY THE JOB. ADDITIONALLY, HE LEFT A BROKEN MACHINE ON OUR FRONT LAWN AND ONLY REMOVED IT AFTER HE WAS ASKED THREE TIMES AND BEFORE WE PAID THE BALANCE.
Description of Work: THE OWNER REMOVED CARPETING AND INSTALLED NEW HARDWOOD FLOORS IN SEVERAL ROOMS AND HALLWAYS. HE ALSO SANDED AND RE-FINISHED A HARDWOOD STAIRCASE.
