A & D Electric

Guys were great. Showed up early and wore covers over the boots because it rained that day, but told them to skip it because I was not worried about cleaning up afterwords. They did a great job, took about 4 hours and that is the normal amount of time. The deal was for 4 cans, but after a while you could see that one more was needed, so I wrote them a check for an extra one and work continued. Had plenty of conversations and they explained how they and what they were doing so a "layperson" can know what they are doing. I would have them over again and probably will once the tax refund shows up. I'll probably call them later this week to get an estimate.

For the installation of the outdoor electrical receptacle the work was completed perfectly. For the repair on the non-working outdoor light fixture, I thought it was due to a faulty motion detector. I had already purchased a replacement but was leery of performing the work myself. The technician replaced the motion detector but the light still did not work. I recently discovered the issue was a loose wire at the switch. Very satisfied with the company, service and technician.

The 2 gentlemen were very polite however seemed stumped as to what they had to do when they arrived at the apppointment. After a brief pause at the door I had to say where would you like to start. This is what they did: 1-visually viewed the electrical panel in the cellar-- visually- said they've seen worse? 2-They ramdomly checked 3 or 4 electrical sockes with a meter which plugged into the electrical sockets that took less than 10 seconds to read the meter and said they seemed fine? 3-That was IT. They were ready to go. Huh? So, I being taken aback, pulled out he list of services/electrical checklist that was on Angies website that they were to provide. That didnt go anywhere. So I asked them to check a few more electrical outlets as I feared they were old and maybe needed to be updated. They did and told me of the additional ones checked not to use 3 of them. Then they left. I was standing there puzzled. They left without me feeling a true inspection was done. I dont think they were in the house 10- 15 minutes. Aside from being very polite, nice gentlemen, and I believe knowledgeable, I wish they could of shared more of their knowledge with me, done more of a through job. I do feel they were capable of doing a more through job if they had any structure or plan for their inspection that they could follow, something like a check off list or something. They seemed unprepared or distracted as they were heading out to a big job in the same neighborhood, I feel they were anxious to get to. As I dont feel I got my monies worth I dont think I'll use Angies List anytime soon in the future. After this episode and feeling no better with my concerns over the electrical. A friend gave me the name of an electrician they were happy with. I subsequently hired this licenced electrician who worked over 4 hours fixing some problems with the electrical, did a through inspection, explained everything he found and what he was doing to fix it. He was patient and made suggestions. I am going to have him back again to upgrade additional things as well as make sure there is no additional safty issues.

I have tried to get a hold of him to schedule out the work and he has not answered the call as well as his voice mail is full. When I could leave a voice mail he still has not call me back

I purchased A & D Electric's deal for Four Ressessed Lights for $489 on 8/27. On 9/4, nine days later, I had not heard from A & D, so I sent a polite message asking when I would hear back on the dates I had requested. A & D messaged me back on 9/5 (ten days after purchase) to tell me that I should request a refund because I had indicated in my home description that my home is a loft with high ceilings and the deal was only applicable to ceilings under 9ft high. Okay, I thought, just a misunderstanding, as I also indicated that the area that the lights were to be installed in was the loft area which had ceilings well under 9ft. I messaged A & D back explaining this and have still not heard back lmost a month later. I've sent four emails and have left two voice mails that have all not been answered. The last time I called his voice mail was full and would not let me leave a message. I even had Angie's List contact him! I'm not sure what's going on, but I am in the process of a

Update 11-19-2014. Although I was very pleased with A&D they didn't finish the project, leaving the most important part of it undone. The permit was never pulled for the job. Dan was scheduled to come back and complete this and the one remaining item GFI outlet outside. I sent him a text and he was scheduled to come on a Saturday morning. He later replied back and said that he would have to reschedule. I sent him additional text, emailed through Angie's list and tried to leave voice message, but he has not responded. It has been 3 months and I am left in a big predicament now without a proper permit applied for and signed off by City Hall Electrical Inspector. How can I get a new electrician to essentially clean up after him.

It wasn't an easy or quick thing to do but they did a great job. They are actually working on some additional work for me as well. I have been waiting for electrician for a while so I am excited that through Angies list and the great responsiveness of A&D (Dan) that I am finally getting this stuff done!

Dan was great and made everything very easy to set up. He came out two weeks before to take a look at things and provide an estimate and then we scheduled the work for a Saturday. He let us know that the work would take several hours, during which time out electric would be off so we could be prepared in advance. He came promptly as discussed at 9am and completed the work by 3:30. Everything went without issue and he even cleaned up the wires outside when doing the upgrade to make everything look a lot neater/more organized. One thing to note, easiest way to get in touch with him is via text - he is very responsive.

We initially hired Dan and Brian to install recessed lighting in 2 rooms (using 2 angie's list deals). We were very impressed with how efficient they were, and how pleasant it was to deal with their positive can-do attitude that we hired them to install recessed lighting in 3 more rooms in the house. Dan also installed an exterior security light for us upon our request. They were fairly punctual and communicated well if they were running behind. I definitely recommend Dan and am considering hiring him for my other bathroom remodel projects.

Dan is amazing. We bought an AL deal on a 200 amp upgrade. He came to consult us on the upgrade to 200 amps and promptly talked us out of it, convincing us that we would be fine with the far less expensive 100 amp upgrade. The upgrade made smoothly and everything works good. His outlet install in the kitchen was also great. He plastered over exploration holes and cleaned up any mess. It was quite a job getting to the circuit box as he had to navigate around a heating duct in the floor. His price didn't change with the extra work. Dan is friendly, honest, and explains his work well. I am so glad we found him on Angies List. We have consulted with Dan regarding future projects and his to-do list continues to grow.

Dan installed an exterior light and changed a number of switches. For a master electrician this is probably pretty low on a scale of difficulty, but everything was done well and neatly.

I found his company from Angie and contacted him. He came after a week and gave me an estimation for changing the service from 60 A to 100 A for my three units house. After several communication by emails and texts, I told him to write the contract and send it to me to pass it to the the bank to get money. Then he decided to cut the communication and not to respond to my emails, texts, and voice messages. Not a reliable company to deal with.

It turned out very well. He was very courteous got the job done that we wanted. We were very happy with the job that he did. He was efficient and made sure he got the job done. It was a difficult job. It's an old house. He kept his patience. He had to work around a couple of obstacles but he did and got it done. He was fantastic and did a wonderful job. I would highly recommend him.

Everything went according to plan. Dan offered me various ideas for the location of the lights, He also discussed different options for dealing with the hole from the existing electrical box in the ceiling. He installed the lights without a problem and put a cover over the electric box hole. He left me a sheetrock patch if I chose to patch the hole, when I repaint the ceiling. He also patched the 2 holes in the ceiling from when the lights were installed. The lights look great and the ceiling will look better than new once it is repainted. I would definitely use Dan again, and plan to use him in the future. We discussed some other work I need done, and I will be using him for that.

Dan did a great job. He walked me through the process of what he was doing and then got to work. The lights are beautiful. I'll have a few touch-up things to take care of (painting the sealing around where the lights were and buffing my floors a little where they got scratched up during the work), but I would hire Dan again in a heartbeat.

We purchased a Big Deal to get an outlet added for a TV over our fireplace. Dan arrived early and got to work right away. Adding the additional outlet in our 1950's home was not the easiest of task but Dan was able to find a very efficient solution and went beyond his assignment snaking not only the electrical wires but also the A/V cables and adding a box and cutout for those wires. The new outlet was then hooked into our main panel in the basement. Overall the process took close to 2 hours. Dan also took the time to inspect some wiring for us as well a taking a look at our panel. Finally I requested Dan convert two 2 prong outlets to grounded 3 prong outlets and Dan was happy to stick around for another half hour to get this done (for an additional fee). Overall, I would highly recommend Dan and A&D Electric and will surely use them again.

Everything went great. I purchased a Big Deal through Angie's List and Dan contacted me via Angie's List message right away to arrange a time. Dan contacted me to let me know he was running a few minutes late on the day of the install, which I thought was very professional. When Dan arrived, he was very clear about what he was going to do, and was able to answer my questions. He also checked in with me frequently throughout the process so that I knew what was going on. Overall, the installation went perfectly and the results are great! The lights look fantastic and will save a ton of energy. I purchased just because of the Big Deal, but I would use Dan again for other electrical work. Highly recommended.

Danny was very quick to respond and set up an appointment. He was very punctual and professional when he arrived and fully explained the process to me. I have an older house, and he ran into a few unexpected roadblocks, so it took him a little longer than it normally would, but he did a great job. I am having him back to install the same lighting in another room. He's a great electrician and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him.

Dan was a very pleasant and personable professional. He arrived on time. After installing the USBs, He checked outlets to ensure there was sufficient ground; looked over the electric panel and discovered that there seemed to be some water getting into the panel in the basement and advised on follow up. His prices are far more reasonable than another Angie's List electrician I had recently used. I would definitely recommend Dan to others and use him again myself.

Dan was on-time, responsive, professional and respectful. He did the work quickly, and cleaned up afterwards. He also patched a hole made in the drywall that was necessary for the work done.

Looked at our list of electrical projects and completed d a few. Was great- very nice and professional. Will use to complete the rest of our list as well. Good buy!
