It went great. Dave came over and spec'd the job, was very helpful and even gave me a few tips about my new neighborhood. His team was very professional, and capable. They packed what wasn't in boxes (most of my stuff including the kitchen) and they did so like a swarm of packing locusts; EVERYthing was packed and squared away in the afternoon of the first day, and then moved efficiently the morning of the second day. They also came back later to pick up the empty boxes and wrapping paper, which I appreciated. Also, they used big rubber bands to secure padding on items instead of tape, which I thought was both efficient and potentially kinder on my stuff.
Regarding price, I forget what it was (so I put it blank) but I think it was a few thousand dollars. I don't remember thinking it was overly pricy.
All in all, a great experience. I'd recommend them, and use them again!

These guys were amazing! Came in on time, reviewed items, worked hard and super efficient, wrapped up furniture nicely, moved it, unpacked etc. Took 6 hours, but there was so much stuff! It was great to work with them, and I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

These guys were great from the initial contact. Their quote was reasonable and the crew was phenomenal-exactly what you want-a bunch of burly, energetic, and friendly guys. They were quick and moved the entire house in about 4 hours during a downpour and didn't break a thing. Well done.

I'm glad I had Roadrunner as my trusted partner for this move. It was a difficult job, involving moving out of a 2000 SF unit on the 4th floor of a brownstone building. It required the use of a crane and all the hassles associated with it, as well as meticulous care in separating the stuff into different groups for different destinations. Roadrunner also did a fine job packing oversized paintings and China and glasses. Dave made a step by step plan for the move, taking into consideration of all my requirements. He was resourceful in dealing with the last minute challenges including a nasty neighbor trying to cause trouble.- He reached out and kept her under control. The crew were competent, focused, and professional. It was a mission accomplished and under the estimates. I wouldn't hesitate a minute to use Roadrunner again for my future moves. From the very beginning, when calling and discussing our plans, Martin and Sabrina were very professional, responsive and helpful. This move was a lengthy stressful process, however, the actual moving of boxes and storage part was not at all stressful. Roadrunner took that stress off of us.
We wanted our home cleared of a bit of clutter before placing it on the market, so we packed up a bunch of our things. A 2-man crew came to our home and very efficiently got our things packed up nice and tight, on the truck. Anything that didn't really fit in a standard box they boxed up quickly in wardrobe boxes and padded furniture for protection.
When it came time to move out, we had a 3-man crew come and again very efficiently (in the heat too!) worked to pack up and separate what was to go into storage and what would be moving with us, to temporary housing.
At one point, while in temporary housing, we needed an item mistakenly put in storage (our error). Martin actually came to our apartment and dropped it off.
Finally on our last move, they loaded up a truck with our 3 vaults from storage the night before. We had a 5-man crew show up the morning of our move, around 8:30am, and we were in our new house unpacking shortly after lunch. In fact, every crew member we met was so quick and hard-working, our actual cost was over $1500 less than the estimate.
While I am not eager to move again, I would not hesitate to recommend Roadrunner to help you if you need this service. They were a pleasure to work with.
We are 90% unpacked and only found 1 item broken. An item I packed. With all the moves and all the boxes, I was expecting a few broken items. They have a great team of hard-working people. Thank you!

Our move went very well. We could not have done this move
by ourselves. We were pleased with the performance of the entire
team. Dave aka Shakey was remarkable. I was impressed with his
ability to remember where all the furniture was go as well as give direction to
the other team members. When I wanted him to position something differently
or move an item to another room, his reply was always "Not a
problem." He was thorough in going room by room with me in our new
house to ensure there was no damage and that everything was how we wanted it to
be. In addition, the team has a nice camaraderie. They work well
together and they work HARD. We had quite some large pieces of furniture
to move. I also liked how all the employees had a roadrunner shirt
on so I knew they were supposed to be there and I liked the continuity of have
Dave be the lead for move out and move in day. It made it much smoother
to have the same person leading as well as most of the same team members.

One surprise for us was that move in day started about 2 hours
earlier than planned. We were trying to get painting and new
carpet laid, but luckily both my contractors and the moving team were able to
work around each other. In the end, it worked out fine but when the
moving team showed up, we were panicked.
I enjoyed working with Sabrina from the main office. She checked in
with me after our move out at our old house. I appreciated her checking
in. I let her know we were satisfied with the work done and
requested that the move team clean up their cigarette butts and water
bottles/soda cans. Moving is exhausting so I didn't want to have more
cleaning added to my workload. Clean up after move in day was much
better, there were only a few cigarette butts and NO water bottles/soda cans to
pick up. Afterwards, I was reassured that there should be zero trash and cigarette butts and that the people involved were spoken to. Sabrina was also very helpful with our after move items that
required repair. I expected there to be a delay or an issue with finding
out how to get those items repaired but there was NONE.
Dave, who did the estimate of the cost of moving, gave me great tips and
advice. It all paid off. He was much more personable,
knowledgeable, and willing to give me information whether I choose Roadrunner or
not than the other 3 moving companies I interviewed. I was nervous after
all the stories I had read online about awful moving experiences, but once I met Dave,
I felt much more reassured. Then the move experience turned out to be
better than I expected.

We reviewed several reviews on Angies List and decided to use Roadrunner based on those reviews. They didn't disappoint and delivered superior service. They arrived on time and were very efficient in the moving process. The move out day was very warm for Sept. and they didn't miss a beat. I didn't hear any complaining and they were meticulous about properly padding furniture, etc. Our situation called for having the items stored on the truck for a few days (additional fee) and they installed special seals to ensure our load wouldn't be tampered with. The move in was just as smooth although there was a bit of a mis-communication on the move in time (they were early) it didn't adversely effect my invoice amount. In the future, I would make a call to double check all the move in/out times to eliminate any confusion. My experience was great and admittedly we didn't shop around price too much but their charges seemed fair for the service provided. We would highly recommend.

Roadrunner was great from beginning to end. I contacted two additional moving services and decided to go with Roadrunner due to their responsiveness, professionalism, and competitive quote. Dave came to my home and gave me a good sense of how long the job would take while also dispensing good advice.
On moving day, the crew was on-time and courteous. There was a three-man crew (including the foreman) who struck a great balance between working quickly and slowing down when necessary to consult us on a tricky item or special request. The crew loaded the truck within three hours (for a two-bedroom apartment) and unloaded in less-than three hours at our new house. The guys were going to keep working straight through lunch until I stopped them and made them eat some pizza we had ordered to make sure they had something to eat! Otherwise, I think they would have just kept going and going.
One of the best indications of Roadrunner's professionalism is the following anecdote. We had just refinished our house's floors and told the crew that we really need them to take their time and be careful, and when possible please apply some felt pads to the bottom of some larger pieces: bookshelves, couches, desks, etc. They laid down moving pads everywhere, and with almost every piece that came in the door they applied the felt pads to the bottom before standing them up on our newly refinished hardwood -- they took incredible care with every piece, but still moved quickly to get the job done.
We've moved four times in seven years, and Roadrunner was by far the best company we've worked with. Highest recommendations.

This move was made on behalf of local historical society and consisted of the collection of large format glass negatives. The negatives represented the body of work from a local 19th century photo studio. The mover arrived early and set right to work. They were careful but quick. Once that was done they needed to go to a different location to pick up a 5 foot by 6 foot framed photo montage from a local fraternal organization. All of this was then moved to the Historical Society's storage rooms in the Malden Library.

I had an EMERGENCY! The movers I scheduled way in advance flaked on me three days before my move and cancelled. Bad bad people! I went onto Angie's List and sent messages to about ten companies asking for availability. Roadrunner responded super quickly, in a friendly and empathetic tone. Calling the next day was also really pleasant - they turned a bad situation around. These guys handled a move from a very tight space that was chock full of stuff to my new house easily and pleasantly. I had heavy items to throw into a dumpster, which they did without complaint. They were quick, careful with my belongings, and friendly. A move is always tough - it really helps when you have a nice crew that is on time, does the job timely, doesn't complain and makes sure everything is in the right place before they leave. The move took about 7 hours, including travel, with a four man crew. I hope I don't move for a long time to come - but if I do need to - I'm calling these guys!

Roadrunner Moving and Storage did such an excellent job several years ago with two moves that we decided to use them again. As usual, the office staff was very personable and professional. We were able to get an estimate by updating via email the inventory from when they moved us to Northampton two years ago.
We were able to schedule the move close to our ideal moving day.
On July 7, they loaded our belongings in Northampton; on July 8 they unloaded them at our new house in Maynard. (Except for big screen TVs and computers, we packed ourselves.) As was the case two years ago, the temps both day were around 90; despite that, they worked quickly and efficiently. It took three guys about 4 hours on both ends (not including travel time). Danny, who was part of the crew two years, was the supervisor this time. He is excellent. Professional, personable, and hard-working.
The unload in Maynard was particularly challenging because the parking area was a distance from our condo and the unit has four finished floors, the top one required a sharp turn to the stairs leading to it. The guys were great at problem-solving (e.g., removing a door, disassembling a futon) and were also flexible and accommodating (e.g., moving a heavy exercise bike to the third floor after we initially had them place it in the basement). All of stuff arrived intact and there were no nicks, scrapes, etc. to the walls in either condo, which can sometimes happen with a move.
I highly recommend Roadrunner Moving & Storage.

Dave was a dream to work with, from start to finish; Sabrina and the other Roadrunner people were very competent, responsive, and courteous too. When we were interviewing moving companies and getting estimates, Dave gave us good info not only about our specific move but also about the industry in general, and a number of these tips helped us better compare the various companies and their services. Although my husband and I had both moved many times, we are convinced that nobody does it often enough to be as aware of industry practices and potential problem areas as someone on the inside, and so this was invaluable help.
Our moving process was a complicated one involving two stages over a period of months, having the pickup done without our being on site, and the movers having to deal with boxes and bins we'd packed ourselves. At every stage, we were able to easily communicate with the Roadrunner people to get answers to questions and make arrangements. They were very responsive, good-humored, and flexible, and they seemed to do their best to accommodate our schedule and circumstances.
We did have a bit of breakage, not a lot (though not of anything we'd packed ourselves), but of loose pieces such as a standing mirror, a flagpole, and a couple of other items that probably didn't have enough padding or securing and so shifted during the long drive. There was a $420 charge for materials that we didn't think to ask about immediately, no doubt for the three quilted moving blankets, a number of heavy wardrobe boxes, and perhaps the packing the movers did before loading, and we felt this was probably reasonable charge. We had to wait a week longer than we'd hoped for delivery due to conflicts with their schedule, but this was manageable for us. And the unloaders didn't stack our many boxes, bins, and loose goods on the pallets we asked them to use, instead putting them directly on the concrete shop floor, but since I wasn't standing by supervising, we think that that miscommunication should be chalked up to the fact that, inevitably, a few such things do happen during every move, regardless of the care and experience of everyone involved.
By and large ours went very well. We feel confident of Roadrunner's competence and integrity, and in a business like this one, that is critical. They are a small company that has competed successfully in a business where hidden charges and other unethical practices are rampant, and have shown that treating people fairly and doing honest work can still be a successful business strategy. Dave, Martin, and Sabrina are fantastic to deal with, extremely professional and helpful. They actually make the moving process almost something to look forward too, as they are very reassuring and help to de-stress the process as much as possible. This is all before hanging up the phone. Once the moving truck arrives (on time) this is when the real magic happens. This was the second time that i have had the PLEASURE of hiring Roadrunner to move me and the teams that these guys put together are phenomenal. Bonus: They do not sub contract the work, it is their guys and their trucks, top notch service all around. Looking at a 4th floor walk up with the tight turns and narrow stairs is daunting enough just for a casual visit or bringing out the trash, however these guys never stop...never stop moving, never stop smiling, never stop remaining professional no matter the situation or size of the dresser that they have to maneuver. I could go on and on about how amazing they are from start to finish. In full disclosure the total cost also included $150 for city parking permit and $75 for the extra stairs in the walk up.

The staff at Roadrunner were highly professional, always punctual, and consistently provided good communication. The initial meeting for an estimate was on time and a pleasant experience. They provided a lot of pointers for packing and staging - effectively showing us how to reduce the cost of the overall move. They accommodated some changes without trouble - including packing and transporting the contents of an off site storage shed. On the day of the move, they also helped with cleaning out some bulky items at the house we were moving to that were left behind by the previous occupants.
Moving is an incredibly stressful time, and it was a great relief to work with a company that reduced that stress.
The final cost came in less than the estimate, all of our stuff was transported, and nothing was damaged. I couldn't be more pleased and have no reservations in recommending Roadrunner for moving services.

It went great. I packed up everything I wanted removed from the house. The 2 man crew was very efficient and packed up the truck in just over an hour. There were several smaller items that they placed into wardrobe boxes to maximize the space in our storage vaults. They arrived a little late due to circumstances outside their control, but they were so professional and efficient about moving things that they were done well before the original estimated time. This also decreased the cost from the original estimate which is a bonus. I would also like to add that communication with both the crew onsite and Sabrina and Martin via phone/email has been wonderful. Everyone is very responsive which is important when you have so many other issues to think about. I will be working with them again throughout our move and I am sure everything will go smoothly.
