Description of Work: I know this may be a weird review, as I didn't actually use them, but I was so impressed with this company that I thought I'd write. I contacted Dave from Roadrunner a month or so before my anticipated closing date and he returned my email almost immediately. I love that. I felt the prices were reasonable so he agreed to come out for a walk-through (sidenote: don't hire someone who doesn't do this). Dave was so personable, friendly, and thorough that I almost cried when he told me my moving dates were not available on their calendar. I'm still laughing over his rendition of the Scottish guy trying to coax a cat out from under a bed. Ask him about that. | |I ended up going with another company and the entire time I kept wishing I had gone with Roadrunner. Call early, be flexible...do whatever you have to do to use Dave and his crew. You won't be sorry.

Description of Work: Moved my apartment and a storage unit in two separate moves from Boston to Hyannis. They were by far the best movers I have ever hired, and this was my third move in the past few years.

Description of Work: They came in to Manhattan and removed furnishings fro my elderly Mother-in-laws apartment & transported the stuff to their Boston warehouse for a couple of days & the, when we had returned to the Boston area they delivered and installed the furnishings in 2 different places. It was a complex move and they did it fine

Description of Work: It was a soup to nuts move from our home of 30+ years to a condo right around the corner in Charlestown. We had such great support from the initial consultation, packing, storing, unpacking. The team set the tone. While we were so anxious about the downsizing in general, the movers were calm, methodical, extremely kind and thoughtful. Our home had all those nightmare turns on three floors and there were very large pieces of furniture that were tricky and heavy. They just pushed through and got it done. There was a car parked in our permuted spot on move day and they took it in stride; carrying in what they could until the car was towed. They. Never. Stopped. Every question we had, every anxious moment we had, every sad moment we had: the company was there to help us along the way. In addition, we got some great discounts from other vendors by just mentioning Roadrunner. Everything was laid out in a great email for us to reference as we called through the list. Who knew you'd need a junk man? We never could have undertaken this move without Roadrunner. Hire these people!

Description of Work: Moved my family out of 3 bedroom, 1100 sq foot condo into storage. Arrived on time, worked quickly, moved our items with care, no hidden costs.

Description of Work: This was by far the best moving company that we have ever worked with and they exceeded our expectations. After looking at numerous moving companinies we found Roadrunner offered a very reasonable price...Dave provided us with a price range and the amount that we ultimately paid was right in the middle of the estimate. On his initial visit Dave did an excellent job of estimating the amount of items that we had to move. They even accommodated our last minute addition of a tractor to our move!!!! Dave and Sabrina were both extremely thoughtful and professional throughout the planning process of our move. Dave even gave me job seeking advice and info about local dog parks! On the day of the actual move the movers arrived on time and ready to go. Our 3 movers, Robert, Paul, and Gerardo were very nice and the positive attitude they had helped us out on a very stressful day. They were also very patient with our moderate disorganization! It is an extremely professional company that has a small family feel. Thank you!

Description of Work: Roadrunner moved me from South Boston to Medford. They were very pleasant, organized, professional. In Medford, they asked me where to place items if they weren't marked and made sure that I was confident about the heavy pieces so I wouldn't have to worry about moving them later. They even gave a few suggestions on where to place furniture-one which I took and the other I rejected. But it was nice that they took that level of interest.

Description of Work: They moved us from Lexington to New Hampshire in two separate moves (our scheduling preference). It involved picking up and dropping off things along the way. Not an easy or straightforward move but they handled it smoothly and with care.

Description of Work: I was exploring the cost of sending two pieces of furniture from Boston to Houston. Their services were not cost effective for me, but they were incredibly forthcoming with other companies I could contact, and creative ways that I could proceed with my shipment in the least expensive way. Knowledgeable. Helpful. A completely friendly and positive experience.

Description of Work: I can't say enough this company did an excellent job!! They were the highest estimate I had but by far the most professional company that I met with. They spent a good hour with me doing the estimate, answered all my questions and concerns. They packed me one day and moved me the next. They were punctual, on both days and completed the tasks as stated. The 4 men that came could not have been more friendly, reassuring, accommodating and professional. They were very entertaining as well - I felt completely at ease. They went above and beyond for me on move in day -- not only delivering the furniture and boxes but helping with a funiture delivery (that had nothing to do with them), staging my boxes so I could move around, setting up furniture and assembling new furniture for me. While me final bill came in over the estimate due to all the work they did - I had no issue in paying it. They did an unbelievable job!!

Description of Work: We had two houses to move and the four guys who moved us were very organanized. They were very patient when we didn't have items packed. They never complained (in front of us) which is very professional. Nothing was broken, scratched or dented. They arrived on time and moved very fast. I would highly recommend RoadRunner.

Description of Work: Removed a mattress & box spring from my 2nd floor

Description of Work: My belongings were picked up and special item packing was done; the movers also took my plants. The crew went next to a storage facility where they picked up 40 paintings, 20 of which had to be boxed. The van arrived at my new address in record time; plants had been lovingly cared for (taken into the motel at night!). Unloading was swift; the crew changed my furniture arrangements when I changed my mind. At both locations the work was efficient, fast, expert. The crew was professional, courteous, cheerful, accommodating. Nothing was broken, nothing lost. In short, they were terrific.

Description of Work: Roadrunner Moving and Storage picked up my baby grand piano from storage in Boston and moved it down to Florida. If I could give this group an A-plus I would. I was very happy with the service, the movers themselves were professional, and we were updated in all aspects before and during the move. We've been through numerous moves in the Boston area due to college kids moving in/out and a major move for us as well. I wish I had known about Roadrunner then because their service far surpasses the other movers in the area, I would not hesitate to use them again.

Description of Work: From the time that Dave visited to give us a quote to the follow up after our move, we were impressed with Roadrunner. They made our move personal and cared about our belongings. Dave/Roadrunner was the only moving company we called that came to do a site visit to actually see what we had that would be moved from one house to another -- everyone else gave an estimate. Dave also gave us an absolute maximum price we would pay, which could be reduced depending on how much we packed/moved in advance (which is what we were hoping to do a bit of.) In contrast all of the other companies gave a ballpark price which would go up depending on actual time, materials and amount moved. And at the end of the day, the final price came in under what Dave had quoted. The crew at Roadrunner did a great job of communicating with us leading up to the move itself. Then on the day of the move, the team of movers (4 guys to pack up the truck, 3 guys to unload) was on time, which we really appreciated. Each one shook our hands and introduced themselves. So nice! We had a great experience with Terrence, BJ, Matt & Stefan. They were courteous and careful with our things, kept our places clean, and were very friendly and quick. They were all business while having a smile on their faces! They moved us from a two bedroom city apartment into a single family home 10 miles away and it didn't take more than 5.5 hours from start to finish. Great value for the money. No additional charges or hidden fees. They were very upfront with all of the permits, charges, etc so we knew what to expect. We have already recommended them to many friends and will continue to do so. They made our moving day a breeze.

Description of Work: We just got an estimate from them, but they were so professional and nice we thought we would write a review and say how great they seemed. We did not go with them because we got a lower "do not exceed" estimate from another company and price was the number 1 most important thing for us, so we went with the other company. However, if we could have afforded the extra money (or possible extra money since it was possible that they could have gone underestimate) we would have gone with them.
