Everything went smoothly. They did run out of soffit vents and had to return to finish, but did so in a reasonable amount of time. We were very pleased with the quality of the work and the clean up. They covered up all the foundation plants and didn't damage any of them. The house is an L shaped ranch so the roof area is fairly large.
Description of Work: Removed old roof and installed new roof with architectural shingles. Also put in ridge vents and soffit vents.

I found Mid Cape Roofing from their listing on Angie's List web site. I sent the following e-mail: From: Glen Wheeler MD [mailto:GWHEELERMD@att.net] Sent: Wednesday, June 16, 2010 10:20 AM To: windblownscott@msn.com Subject: Leaking Flashing I have a house in West Falmouth and during the storms we had last March we discovered a rain leak around the chimney in the attic Daylight can be seen where the flashing should be covering. Would you be able to inspect the flashing and can we get an estimate on repairs?. Glen Wheeler 453 West Falmouth Highway. I received the following e-mail response that same day: Hi Glen, I could certainly do that. We are experts at addressing water issues. Something we don't do with flashing is temporary fixes such as caulking. The preferred way to deal with the flashing is with a three part system that bonds tenaciously to masonry, metal and roofing materials and won't leak or crack over time. I will be in Falmouth Friday afternoon and may have time to stop by and take a look at it for you then. Warm Regards, Scott I replied to that with an e-mail promising to be home to give him access to the inside of the house if necessary and provided a daytime phone number. Scott never showed that day nor did he call to reschedule. I sent a third e-mail that Friday evening asking him to contact me to reschedule. I got no e-mails or calls all weekend. I tried to call Mid Cape Roofing on Monday morning and left a voice mail message on their self identifying answering machine asking Scott to call back to my office number. My secretary now informs me that someone called back to tell me that the message left to Scott was a "wrong number". Over all this smells fishy and unprofessional. Their answering machines greeting clearly identified itself as being Mid Cape Roofing. There could be no "wrong number" if they got the message and called me back! If the job was too small for them to bother with I could live with that as a reason for the no show. By my experience with them this company doesn't deserve to be recommended on Angie's List. How honest and reliable could they be if they treat potential customers this way?
Description of Work: I needed chimney flashing repaired and was looking for a contractor to do the work reliably and give me an estimate of the cost involved.

Response from MID CAPE ROOFING
Hello [removed member name], We just went through the process of updating/setting up our profile for Mid Cape Roofing on Angie's List and saw the review that you posted back in 2010. I have read your review and wanted to let you know that the email you sent your issue to is not affiliated with Mid Cape Roofing nor have we had a person by the name of Scott work for us in the past or now. I hope that you were able to get your leak addressed appropriately and timely. Please keep us in mind in the future if the need ever arises. Our email is MidCapeRoof@gmail.com or you may call us directly at 508-385-8801. Thank you, Barry Merrill

The initial roof replacement went very well. Mid Cape Roofing is a family organization and they were very resopnsive, pleasent, professional and easy to deal with. The $3250 stated above was for the original roofing job and does not include the recent repair. In February 2009 the ridge vent became damaged, creating an opening to the weather in my attic. I called Mid Cape and asked them if they would close the opening to the weather as there was a forcast of rain in a few days and then repair the ridge vent when they could get to it. Barry Merrill said he would close up the hole the next day and repair it as soon as he could get to it. He actually was able to complete the repair before any rain occurred.
Description of Work: 1) In June 1997 Mid Cape replaced the roof on my house in Dennis. They removed and disposed of the existing roof, They protected the walls and shrubs from damage and raked and cleaned up all debris. Their workmanship and responsiveness was excellent. I received a written estimate and contract and Mid Cape complied with all terms and conditions in a professional manner. 2) In February 2009 repaired an opening in the ridge vent created by wind damaged to some of the shingles.
