CHIMNEY CARE

Scott came to give me an estimate ($125) on 9//1/16. He appeared very knowledgeable, professional and friendly and said he had other people's emergency work to do and could not come to me until Spring 2017, and he would call me to set up a date then. I had wanted to get the work done before the winter 2016 but decided to wait one more winter because he seemed very good. I never heard from him or his office manager in Spring, I had to follow up and called them back and we set a date. for 6/19/17. I drove to the Cape (a 2hour drive one way) to find the weather was not good enough at the Cape to do the work (but nobody called me ahead to let me know they would not be able to do it that day). Subsequently the office manager gave me 3 other potential dates over the next 3-4 weeks they would come if the weather permitted (at least 2 of these days the weather was great) but nobody showed up. Eventually I heard personally from Scott that he was having some short term health issues and had a short list of around 25 others waiting for service so decide to cut my losses and find another contractor. I felt I had given this contractor the benefit of the doubt too long and wanted to get the work done. It has been 11 months since we first spoke. I am very disappointed in this company. There appears to be a lack of organization and communication at the company. What a shame especially when I see others who rate him and A on this site.

Very well. The owner was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He answered all questions and provided additional information to help me understand chimney basics.

Excellent service.

Scott and his associate arrived late to my house to give me a quote on repairing my leaking chimney. Scott wrote up a description of what was required to fix the leaking chimney. He said that a detailed proposal and price quote would follow via email the next day. I never heard back from him again. He said that he wanted to due the work. I called him everyday for a week, leaving voice mail messages, but he never returned my calls or emailed me a detailed quote for fixing the chimney. This was unprofessional. At the very least he could have contacted me and declined to bid the job or do the work.

it went really well!! i found him professional, friendly, thorough and timely. he was really honest and did what was necessary and nothing more. the damper was frozen and he freed it up and lubricated it instead of charging me for a new one. after inspecting the chimney for the furnace, he took the cleaning off the bill as unnecessary. by the time he left the fireplace and work area was clean and orderly. my chimney cap looks wonderful and will prevent the problems that i have had in the past with critters and water. the damper was unusable so i have not had a fire in the fireplace for years. now i look forward to easily and safely having a fire!

On budget. Repaired a crack that became apparent later in the project, but did not increase his price. Clean, professional work.

Scott did exactly what he told me he would do and for the price we discussed. I called around to several places before finding him. I was told to only work with someone certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America, which he is. Also was recommended to go with only someone who uses a rotary brush to clean the chimney, which he does. All in all, a good experience.

Every communication, phone, e-mail, and in person was cordial and business like. The job was completed on time and with good quality materials. Scott works hard and is an ethical businessman.

IT WENT BEAUTIFULLY. HE WAS ON THE ROOF FOR SOMETIME AND I WORRIED IF SOOT WOULD GET INSIDE, BUT NO PROBLEMS TO NOTE. WE NOW FEEL SAFER. WONDERED WHY I WAITED.
