All Cape Chimney Sweep & Home Repair

All Cape Chimney Sweep showed up on time and were very professional. I was impressed with their honesty - I had called for service including cleaning because we just moved in, but they told me that the chimney didn't require cleaning at this point. They could have quickly mimed a cleaning, charged me, and I wouldn't have known the difference. They also showed and explained to me how different parts of my furnace, fireplace, and chimney worked, giving some useful tips on operation. There were issues with the chimney upon inspection, and they took photos while on the roof in order to show me what was going on. They provided a free, fair estimate on the spot, and I've since scheduled them to complete the necessary repairs. Lastly, I am a woman and have been a homeowner for >10 years; I have experienced some rather creepy moments with men who have come to work on something at my house while I am there alone. This company has extremely respectful and professional employees - including Nathan, the owner - and I feel very comfortable about having them in my home again.

When they arrived at the agreed upon time in the morning, they could not do the job as we had had a fire the night before and did not realize it would be a problem. They were very nice, ( after driving to Yarmouth from Sandwich) they simply said they would be back the next day. They arrived on time and did a great job.

Nate was very professional , showed up when he was supposed to, cleaned up the area - a great job. No complaints.

Nathan was very prompt with all of our appointments. He picked up our stove from the shop, provided all other materials that we needed and performed the work in a very professional manner. I would definitely recommend him, and I will use him again in the future.

We were told that we had three flues -- one for the oil burner, the other for the fireplace, and one unused. He said that the tiles in the flue for the oil burner had disintegrated. He recommended we get checked it out by a mason and suggested, if need be, to get the furnace flue re-routed to the unused one. We were concerned because the flues had not been cleaned in a decade since the new chimney had been installed during renovations 10 years prior. We had read in the local papers about scams involving chimney cleaning on the Cape and paid particular attention to what his recommendations were. He never referred us to a mason or suggested his company could do it. He merely suggested we have it looked at, and we appreciated that. We then called our furnace guy who said it's not the kind of job he would do; if indeed the flue was damaged, we'd need a mason. He told us what we should be concerned about (re: tight connections especially if the unused flue was a fair distance away). We did get it checked out - a year later by the mason used by our contractor for extensive renovations made a decade ago to our 182 year old house. The mason looked at it and told us that he'd leave it alone were it his flue. It was and quot;a little dirtyand quot; but that was about it. The flue should last and quot;years.and quot;

He is great to work with, is very particular about what he does, and he does his job well.

Nathan cleaned the chimney from the cellar to the chimney top which the last sweep had not done. The other company had only done from the woodstove to the chimney top. Nathan had to work very hard since the part from the stove to the basement had not been done for more than a year. They worked from the roof down and from the basement up.
