Our home renovation went very smoothly. Mark and his crew, John, Tom and Marks wife Darlene were fantastic and so easy to work with. I can’t say enough about their professionalism and their eye for detail. Whittemore Home Improvement is a 1st class company and I highly recommend them for your home improvement project.

All work performed was first-rate. Mark and crew were thorough and professional. Mark provided suggestions through the project which enhanced the outcome with no additional charges. We are extremely happy with our “new” environment.

I can not recommend this company enough. Mark and his crew got here every day on time, did absolutely meticulous work and left the job site clean every single day. It was a pleasure having them here. My neighbor used them years ago, and I was so impressed with the work they did at his house. When it was time for us to have work done, I knew we didn’t need to look anywhere else. His price was reasonable. Siding isn’t cheap, but we now have a maintenance-free home. Worth every penny! All in all it was a wonderful experience, and it looks like I have a brand new house! The job went excellent. Mark and his crew were very polite, and very professional. Mark realized that the supplier sent the wrong material and was told it would be 2 weeks until the correct material was sent. Mark went to another supplier and got the right material. Extremely satisfied with the work done. Mark and his crew were trustworthy, very neat, and kept me informed as the work went on. They stripped off the old wood shingles and clapboard siding and wrapped the house. Vinyl siding and trim was done with attention to the smallest details. Shingling the roof was added at the time of the siding job in March after damage to the existing roof from a winter storm. All new gutters and downspouts were installed. The deck was reconstructed with pressure treated wood and came out excellent. I was very impressed with the communication prior to the start of the job and throughout till completion. It seems rare nowadays to have such good communication, as many times people just don't call back when you are trying to get an estimate. Whittemore Home Improvement is the exception, they let you know they want the work and do a quality job with quality materials.

There was not one thing that I can provide a negative comment on. It was a 5 out of 5 star performance. We were given the addresses of houses that were done by the contractor that had the colors we were interested in. So we did our home work. WE were initially going to install the Certain Teed siding but for a number of reason we paid the extra and when with the shingles. It was money well spent.

I highly recommend Whittemore Home Improvement for installation of vinyl siding projects. Mark Whittemore in addition to being the company owner works with his crew on the actual installation. Mark inspected our home and provided an estimate quickly. He explained every aspect of what he would be providing and presented us with a brochure that his wife Darlene put together with his credentials, insurance and a detailed list of home projects in our area that we could look at to help us decide and Mark was very helpful in providing recommendations and we felt that his professionalism, eye for detail and desire to provide the customer a great installation was the reason we hired him. We had other estimates with contractors and decided that Mark was the best to hire. We decided on the Certain Teed, cedar impressions vinyl siding and in addition we also decided to have the roofing replaced. Mark uses a sub contractor for the roof and they stripped two layers,and installed the new architectural shingles and ridge vent in one day. They did an excellent job. Marks crew, John, Tom and Mark did an excellent job installing the siding. The preparation work is the most important part of the installation and they wrapped the house with Typar, taped all seams and paid special attention to flashing the entire house before they started applying the siding ensuring that the house would be weather proof. I also needed electrical work done since the cabling for the electric meter was old and the plastic shielding around the wires was cracked and since it needed to be temporarily pulled away from the house in order to install the new siding I decided for safety sake that it would be best to replace the cables and install them in new pvc conduit eliminating any water entering the electrical panel. Marks crew member Mark is also a licensed journeyman electrician and he did an excellent job replacing the electrical cables and he provided a new electrical meter box. This was a great relief to me now that I have a safe electrical service. Mark and his crew also installed an Anderson sliding door to the deck and it looks great in addition to the new siding. The entire house looks brand new and unless you actually feel the siding up close you would think it to be real cedar siding from a distance. My wife and I are very pleased with the entire project. Mark and his entire crew are pleasant to work with, professional and I highly recommend them for a very professional job.

We had such a hard time finding a contractor to perform a small job, we had to go with a siding company because they had the machine to bend the aluminum siding. I put out about 12 calls and two came back and said, yes we can help. This was one of the companies: Company contacted me and said they can help, no job too small. We had already gone with another contractor, but we would have gone with this company if we did not already have someone. They were very nice and very helpful. I had four windows replaced. They did the work very efficiently in two days. Exterior and interior trim work was well done.

I would highly recommend Whittemore Home Improvement. I was very pleased with the workmanship. They were efficient, polite and very concerned about doing a good job.

In October 2013, after getting inconsistent estimates for vinyl siding, I joined Angie's list. I contacted two companies selecting them for their ratings. Both companies appeared professional, polite, and arrived on time. They both seemed thorough and knowledgeable. Both estimates were amazingly close in price, which actually made me feel that they were pricing the work honestly and understood the job. I chose Whittemore Home Improvement because Mark?s pride when talking about his work was very apparent, and I liked his responses to questions I asked him relating to cost assumptions. I was also very impressed with his wife, Darlene?s, professionalism from a customer service perspective. We scheduled the work for January, as I wanted it done before spring due to issues with woodpeckers. I should note that we experienced a very harsh winter, and Mark did not let snow storms slow his progress. Quality of work was the most important factor to me, but budget was the second most important. I was thrilled to be able to afford to replace my old windows with new efficient ones. That was very unexpected. Nevertheless, I was watching the bottom line every moment. When I decided to install windows without a wood grain interior, Mark suggested he could probably face one area of the front of my house with pricier Cedar Impressions siding that I favored. I politely explained that I had a budget and it could not be exceeded for any reason. In other words, if the cost savings from the less expensive windows did not cover the amount of Cedar Impressions he was suggesting, I didn?t want it. Mark listened to my concerns, and eventually not only did the whole job precisely on budget, but he also used the Cedar Impressions on the entire front of my house. I think he used it because it clearly made the house look better, and I do appreciate that. The one and only rough patch we had during the entire project came at the very end when Mark mistakenly installed a steel basement door instead of the fiberglass one we had discussed. I know what you?re thinking---how can a professional make that mistake? I questioned that myself. But, to be fair, he had been ill and was working through it. When I confirmed steel and fiberglass door pricing at Lowes, I determined the $30 or so difference in price indicated this was truly an honest mistake because the amount of grief I gave Mark (hours of it) was definitely not worth the $30, believe me! In the end, I felt that the service he provided and the many extras (free leaf guards on the gutters, free shutters, re-installing a light fixture, removing deck rails and then re-installing them, installing new plastic mounts for light and utility fixtures, painting some utility fixtures to match the house color, and using the Cedar Impressions on the entire front of the house) offset the mistake with the door. A couple of weeks after the job was finished and the snow had melted, Mark came back to make sure the yard was clean. I highly recommend Whittemore Home Improvement for an excellent job at an excellent price.

I am a replacement window veteran. I have had them installed in two different houses, so I can compare experiences. Whitimore Construction turned out to be a vast improvement in installers. Mr. Whitimore acted very professional and knowledgeable and gave an honest price up front-no BS. He actually saved me around a hundred bucks a window. The work was done in one day and to exacting standards. The other installer left much to be desired, but that's another story. Over all, am very pleased with how my new windows were installed and would recommend Whiimore Construction to my family and friends.

He was professional, neat and very easy to get a hold of. The quality of work was very good. He was prompt and on time, and if he was not going to be on time, he would always keep me informed on what was going on. It was a pleasure to work with him. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

Mark and Brian did a fantastic job and paid considerable attention to the details such as the trim and proper siding spacing. For example, they used Cortex FastenMaster screw and plugs on the PVC trim to conceal all the screws. The Andersen windows and the ATW window trim were thoroughly protected with Grace Vycor Plus flashing and flexible adhesive/sealant. They clearly take great pride in their work. After the front siding was installed, I noticed one of the CertainTeed siding panels got scratched and asked Mark if he could touch it up. Instead of touching it up, Mark decided to replace it which entailed removing a number of panels to get to the scratched one. On a number of occasions Mark and Brian would start work at 7:30 in the morning and work until 7 in the evening so they could completely finish an entire side before leaving As a example of their responsiveness, a few days before Mark was scheduled to start the project, I hired a stone contractor to replace the damaged front brick steps with granite. When the stone contractor removed the old steps, concealed water and insect damage was discovered. I asked the stone contractor to stop work and called Mark to see if he could bail me out. Fortunately he had just finished another job and came right over to repair the damaged sheathing and floor joists that afternoon. This allowed the stone contractor to complete his work the next day and kept the project on time.
