The contractor that was ultimately hired to do the work was a pain to deal with but Matt did a great job with follow up on some problems we had with the cabinets and made sure that the job itself was done right. He's one of the few that actually cares about customer satisfaction. Refreshing!

I cannot sing enough praise for the owner, Matt Arguin. The cabinets I purchased from his company were installed by my contractor, and when my concerns and disappointments over cabinet defects and shoddy installation were minimized, Matt stepped in - in less than an hour of my frustrated email. He made me feel like he could not sleep until I was happy with my kitchen. He's a true professional, and because of him, I love my new kitchen and would use his company again.

Installers were very professional. Punctual. Installation was well done. There was a slight delay on the job completion because the glass in the cabinet was not the right size. But they came back a few weeks later to finish the job.
Description of Work: Installed some cabinets in dining area.

Hello (removed member's name), Thank you for your kin words! im glad the cabinet glass issue was resolved. We will never leave a job until it is 100% complete and we try to complete it in a timely manner. You patience is appreciated! All of us appreciate your business!
Best. Experience. Ever. We've had several contractors work for us over the years. In most cases, our experiences have ranged from disappointed to modestly satisfied. Never before have we had a company that provided such an amazing end-to-end experience that we've wanted to sing their praises. Southcoast Kitchen Designs is that company. We hired Matt and the Southcoast Kitchen Designs team to redesign and remodel our kitchen. We've needed this work done for a long time. Our kitchen could have won the "Ugliest Kitchen Ever" contest. Formica counters, contractor-grade cabinets made from pressed sawdust and glue (which were literally falling off the walls), ancient, rusting appliances, cracked tile and a flow that well, didn't flow. We evaluated Southcoast Kitchen Designs against several competitors in the area. We had a budget in mind and had a pretty good idea of what we were looking for. Matt's pricing was extremely competitive. Matt and his team took the time to educate us on the choices we had in everything from cabinet construction, to wood species and stain, to the pros and cons of countertop materials to overall kitchen design. What we liked most about the design process was how collaborative it was. We had some ideas, Matt had ideas and we figured it the perfect design for our space together. We always felt like we had a choice, that we were in control, but had a trusted adviser which gave us pros and cons and recommendations along the way. Another thing that stood out for us was how responsive Matt was. We've all had experiences with contractors who don't return calls, or vanish. Matt always got back to us the same day we contacted him (sometimes sending emails well into the night). He also did an awesome job communicating everything with us along the way. We always knew exactly what was going on and when we had questions, he was always there to help us explore the answers. From that point it only got better. Matt coordinated the builder, cabinet installers, electricians, plumbers, plasterers, countertop installers, flooring installers and others like a conductor in a symphony. Every entrance and exit was perfectly choreographed and happened on time. From a budget / quote perspective We really liked Matt's "no surprises" approach. We knew exactly what we were getting for the money and what was quoted was what we paid. Admittedly, we did have a few small changes we made beyond this scope which we gladly paid for. The other thing we liked about Southcoast Kitchen Designs was their commitment to making sure their customers are 100% happy. Not just satisfied, but happy. We did have an issue where the refrigerator we wanted to keep stuck out too far from the cabinet once everything was installed. Thankfully, Matt designed the refrigerator cabinet so it could be widened, so were were able to get another refrigerator with the same cu ft. but a different footprint. Matt even helped us by purchasing the old refrigerator and selling it for us! Finally we were extremely impressed with the true craftsmanship of every person who worked in our kitchen. Everyone took extreme pride in their work and it shows in the details of everything - cabinets, countertops, plaster, you name it. It looks like a piece of art. From beginning to end there were several reasons why we loved working with Southcoast Kitchen Designs. 1. Competitive Pricing 2. Responsiveness 3. Collaborative Approach 4. Education 5. Design Chops 6. Problem Solving 7. Orchestration and Project Management of Timeline and Contractors 8. Communication 9. Craftsmanship and Quality of Products and Installation 10. Customer Service Focus (100% Happiness) And as a bonus, Matt and his team are really nice, friendly, people. The kind of folks you wouldn't hesitate going out and having a beer or glass of wine with. All said we are 100% happy and highly recommend Southcoast Kitchen Designs without hesitation. We're actively looking for other ways to work with these guys.
Description of Work: We ended up removing a wall between the kitchen and dining room and replacing it with a beam in the ceiling (which you cannot tell ever happened - it's perfect!), installing all new cherry cabinets and crown moulding, new soapstone countertops, new hardwood flooring, a slate backsplash, new garden window and set of back doors, a stainless backsplash to the stove, all new appliances including stove, hood, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave drawer in the island (coolest thing ever), new sink and faucet, all new lighting and really cool accessories like seeded glass and intricate knobs and pulls to match.. The end result is a drool-worthy classic kitchen that everyone gasps at when they see it. It is awesome.

We did not use him for the project
Description of Work: He very promptly came to review the job to give us an estimate which he said he he would email to me in a few days. He did not send the estimate and I needed to call him for it 2 weeks later.

Hello [member name removed], My name is Matt Arguin and I'm the owner of Southcoast Kitchen Designs. I wanted to take a moment to respond to your review. I've gone through all of the notes we have in the system to see exactly how the process worked (or didn't) in your case. I see you had met Bill, my designer, on Friday June 21st. You are correct in stating the response from Bill with pricing was on Monday July the 8th. In the notes from the initial meeting I see the scope of the project Included the kitchen, master bath, and a main bath. In addition to the kitchen and bathroom cabinetry it appears you were also interested in having us coordinate and price the plumbing, electrical, countertops and tile work. There was also a note about you traveling the first week of July. During the week of the 24th the notes show Bill had worked on the plans so that he could meet with the various contractors to discuss and quote your project. In that week he was able to meet with the carpenter, tile installer, plasterer, and plumber. The countertop fabricators were also able to submit pricing to us during that time. The last piece of information we were awaiting for you was a quote for the electrical work. By that time Bill felt it was best not to disturb you while you were away so he decided to contact you on Monday the 8th. It appears as though you may have contacted him that Monday as well. This decision seems to be the one that contributed to your displeasure. We do offer the free coordination of contractors as a convenience to our clients, however this does create additional leg work for us during the quoting phase. My decision to offer that service at no charge is based on two main factors. First, we already have a network of trusted contractors that provide high quality work that our clients may not have in place. Second, it takes the pressure off of our clients so they may continue their daily routine without having to spend time on the meetings required for the coordination of contractors. I feel this free service actually sets us apart from our competition who often leave the homeowner with that responsibility or they charge an additional fee to include it. I'm truly sorry that you had a bad experience with my company. We will make it a point to fully disclose what we are trying to accomplish during those initial consultations so that future customers will better understand what to expect. If you have a moment to read the reviews of past clients you will see that we take great care in the details of the project so that our clients are 100% satisfied with the work we are contracted to do for them. I do hope your remodeling project went very smoothly for you! Please know I am available anytime if you would like to discuss your experience in greater detail My cell number is 508.971.0181 Thank you for your review! I will use it as a learning experience that will help me to build a stronger relationship with prospective clients Sincerely, Matt Arguin President Southcoast Kitchen Designs

They did a very good job. They came when they were supposed to and completed the work within the time they indicated they would. They had different teams of people to complete the different components of the work. We had received several estimates and found theirs to be very competitive and I would recommend their services to others.
Description of Work: They replaced all our cabinets and added a corner cabinet and slightly moved the stove over. They also replaced our sink and completed tiling work running from the bottom of the cabinet to the counter.

From the first day that their representative, Matt Arguin, came over to show us granite samples to the day our counters were installed, we could not have been happier. Matt was professional and knowledgeable and provided us with the initial information we needed to decide on the granite we wanted, giving us addresses of two granite yards to visit and view granite slabs. He gave us estimates for the top granite choices we came up with, and took measurements for the installation while our old counter tops were still in place. The installation was done in one morning and everything fit perfectly! The long kitchen counter/sink section was a tight area between cabinets and the counter top fit in like a glove! We are thrilled with how smoothly everything went and especially with Matt's followup and follow-through. He always responded quickly to our emails or phone calls and was very accessible throughout the whole process. We will definitely contact him again when we are ready to renovate our bathroom counter areas!!
Description of Work: We replaced existing formica countertops with granite countertops in 3 areas of our kitchen: a long counter with sink area, an island with a stovetop area and a small area over a bottom kitchen cabinet.
