We had a great experience. They moved everything we owned (which was a lot) including a playstructure in our backyard (which I added last minute) and they did it with only four guys and they flew - 3 HOURS and they were gone (including some packing we didnt get to). They wrapped everything and were very careful. We wanted our 3 kids to be a part of the move to help them transition and the guys were so friendly and funny with the kids. When the builder told us our new house was not going to be ready on time we had to reschedule our move in date and now put our whole house in storage for very short term. Even though we gave them short notice they made sure we were able to move in on time - move in went smooth - they only needed three guys for that. This company was great. Def recommend highly.

I called to schedule an in-home estimate based on my furniture and other belongings. I set an appointment for a specific date and time, but no one showed. I called the office to inquire, and was told that I didn't have an appointment that day, but there was one scheduled for the same day, but in the following month !!! To their credit, they did send someone later that same morning. However, I was looking for a company that would do the work themselves from point A to point B, and Marathon doesn't work that way -- they're affiliated with a big van line, and that was exactly what I DIDN"T want. Though their quote was competitive with the other two companies I looked at, I wanted more personal service. With the appointment screw-up and the affiliation, I felt that was already two strikes against them, and so I chose not to use them.

We were very please with all aspects of the move. The moving men Will and Zach were great workers, friendly, courteous and very helpful. They arrived on time and went right to work, the entire move took 4 hours.

They have always been on time. Everyone who came out did a fantastic job. They were very polite and courteous. I cannot think of anything that they could improve on.

Arrived on time. Packed up things carefully except broke TV and notified us immediately about it. Unpacking was careless, rushed, and led to damage in the house. Knocked ceiling fan off the ceiling. Broke the attic stairs. Gashed walls. They sent a repair guy who took pictures of broken TV and attic stairs, and fixed the ceiling fan and walls. When followed up, the owner denies any pictures of TV or attic and refuses to fix or compensate for the damage. Awful company, use any other company. This company is terrible.

They were not on time. They waited to move in for some reason. They were about as slow as they could be, they lost furniture. They over charged. When we called to complain, they were rude. Worst customer service from start to finish. I have never had really any problem with any moving companies and if it was it was minor. They charge 1400 for a simple move from Hyde Park to a 475 square foot condo. There is only so much furniture you can fit in a condo that big but they dragged it out for hours. I never right reviews either but I had to write this one.

Everything went well, and I'm satisfied. I will definitely call them the next time I need to move furniture -AND the next time a friend asks for help to move something. It's a much better bargain than me falling down the stairs or having a heart attack.

Overall it went well. This was the second time I've used them (in the past 2 years) and I would use them again.

It was worth it to me, since I had an armoire, a large hutch, and large pictures to move. Everyone I dealt with was courteous. The 2 movers covered the furniture and made sure I was happy with the placement of the furniture and boxes in the basement. They didn't have a two wheeler to move furniture around in the basement. they slid one piece of furniture across the floor (about four feet) I asked them not to do that - just think this was not necessary. no damage. Worth it to me, I would hire them again.

I had packed all my stuff prior to their moving and it didn?t take them as long as I thought it would. They were fantastic, and I was impressed with their work. The guys were great; they were very polite, worked with high energy, and were very careful with moving stuff. They accidentally broke a cheap mirror of mine. There was no hesitation and the guy pretty much shelled out of pocket the money for the replacement mirror. Apart from this, the move was perfect. The pricing was extremely reasonable. The head of the crew was an interesting guy - he had published a book recently.

The move, overall, went well. They packed our belongings efficiently, and packed the moving truck in the designated amount of time. The next day, the truck was about 3 hours late, but the movers unloaded our place quite rapidly. We were having the place painted the next day, so they followed our instructions quite well, and were more than happy to move boxes around once they were unloaded. As we were unpacking, we were mildly dissatisfied with the quality of their packing. They seemed to use excessive amounts of packing paper on unfragile items, while using less than adequate amounts on fragile items. As a result, a Venetian glass goblet was broken; that being said, there was nothing else damaged. Their price was about $5-700 less than their big competitor, which is why we used them, and I think we'd use them again.

Very well. Nick, the lead mover was especially friendly and confident. we had a new mark or 2 on the wall, but they are easily cleaned up and.....I can't imagine moving this rigid piece of furniture up that curved stairway w/o a mark or two.

Excellently; see above for more info. We moved when it was snowy and they even protected the carpet from their shoes.

It was great. everyone we dealt with from start to finish was professional and responsive and gave us the right information at the right time. The moving team: Florin, Israel, and John were amazing, and so careful with our newly-painted walls and newly finished floors that we could hardly tell they had been in the house after the move was done. They disassembled and then reassembled several pieces and were extremely careful with everything. They even moved some large items that we changed our minds about during the move, and were cheerful and helpful and throughout.

Marathon Moving is a shining example of how truly thorough and professional movers can make the moving process as painless and stress-free as possible. They loaded up a truck with all of my belongings (a 750 sq ft apartment with a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, foyer and living room) within approximately 5 hours. It absolutely did not bother me that it took that long, as they helped me wrap a few things I just could not get to before they came and they packed things on the truck in a way that would make it easiest to unload and store once they got to NJ. I am truly confident that everything that is stored in my unit in NJ was not and will not be damaged. Regarding timing, there was a snafu in that the last possible delivery date changed from 1/10 (one day after pick up) to 1/17 (a week after pick up) between drafts of the estimate, which of course I didn't notice. However, when I brought it to Marathon's attention, they were able to move up the delivery date to 1/12, which was more than acceptable to me.

They did a great job and packed items well. They were very nice people to work with and they did a good job with moving all my items. They took time to pack items carefully.

Paul came to give us a free estimate. He was friendly and professional. On moving day, the guys arrived on time, took a tour, and listened carefully to our instructions. They disassembled some furniture and wrapped other pieces. I was impressed with their speed and effort. Once we got to our new house, they unloaded and assembled everything with care. They moved furniture to the basement after we decided it didn't fit on the second floor. They were patient while we made our decisions and moved large items twice without grumbling. At around 5 PM, when we were exhausted, they kicked into high gear, literally running up the stairs and back out to the truck. Amazing.

We called just a few days in advance and got an estimate. They called back the day before to confirm. The movers showed up on time, worked efficiently but carefully, and charged exactly what the estimate said they would.

It went very well. The group at both ends did wonderfully. Moving in Boston around September 1st is generally miserable. Marathon took care of most of my issues in the move and made this whole process an enjoyable experience.

They were supposed to be at my business between 8:00 & 9:00 a.m. When I arrived at 7:50, they were already there. The truck was loaded quickly and efficiently, treating all items very carefully. They arrived at the destination shortly after I did and unloaded, moving the furniture into my basement, and carrying about 15 cartons up a ladder into my attic. The moving men were both very nice and professional. They were very careful not to scratch any walls bringing in the furniture, even though there were some tight squeezes. The original estimate was for 5 hours, and they finished the job in 4. I highly recommend Marathon Moving Company to anyone.

They were extremely pleasant and efficient. Everything they packed came through fine. We were less happy with the team they subcontracted the work to.

Very well. Nothing lost/broken. They tag every little item & keep an invoice. We added some new furniture midway during storage & they picked it up at the furniture store.

They were really slow. It took them forever, they took their time and it cost me a lot of money to move. They were understaffed for the amount of moving stuff that I had.
