Everything was excellent. Communication from the start of the estimate to the finalization of the move was very well handled. I felt confident choosing them for our upcoming move. They arrived within the time frame I was quoted. The guys walked through the house with us before starting to load up the truck. Everything was done carefully and within a timely fashion. Unloading the truck at our new house was just as good. After they finished unloading the truck, they asked if anything needed re-arranging and if everything was all set. We were very pleased with how professional and hard-working they all were. Even the office manager called me later in the day to tell ask how everything was and let me know they accidentally over-charged us a little and they would be refunding us. I was quoted the move would take about 6-8 hours and I think it fell right in that timeframe. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Marathon Moving again!

Everyone we have dealt with was very professional, hard working, responsive and responsible. Lucas McGary (the agent) whom I contacted, first gave me an immediate estimate over the phone, then he physically came over and gave me a guaranteed estimate. It is the best kind as they guarantee that they will charge you no more than this amount, and if your weight is less than 6000 lbs (which was my estimate), they will charge less. The price was very very competititve and based on the feedback as well as the fact that they managed to fit us at the end of the month (summer end of the month is EXTREMELY BUSY). Lucas was extremely professional, very responsive, and just great to deal with. I could call him anytime (and I mean anytime) on his cellphone and he would respond to my questions. The movers who were from Stevens Van company were also great and they were in contact with us the whole time from the beginning to the end.

Could not be happier with experience. Moving crew bailed us out - BIG TIME - with packing (I was 8 months pregnant and just couldn't make it happen physically and my husband was slammed at work and couldn't make up the work I couldn't get done. They flew through the packing and loading process - truly impressive. They were very friendly and personable - great with our toddler who was fascinated by the process. Very patient with our lack of organization and made up for it all and then some with the pace of their work. We found no damage of any of our items after the move. Considering we were down to the wire with expecting our second child, we were at the mercy of the movers in getting the move completed and they truly came to the rescue. We could not have asked for anything more.

They were able to come the day after I called them. They came at the time they said they would. I have all hardwood floors and they protected my floors. All the items were heavy and it worked very well. They were in and out of here very quickly.

Marathon had a competitive estimate, and I was impressed with Lucas when I talked to him on the phone. The contract that they sent wasn't great, though -- there were a lot of errors in it, all of which I corrected before signing. Lucas seemed unconcerned when I reported these to him. I had to ask about insurance myself and sign a new contract, which is strange because insurance is not uncommon. I also had to ask about securing a parking permit. There were a number of items I contacted Lucas about which he then forgot we'd spoken about and contacted me about again weeks later. This was not very assuring. A few days before the move I got email from Sheila Winters telling me that my phone wasn't working. I was traveling so I emailed her back to confirm that she had the right number. I have checked my records and even though I sent her the right number she failed to correct the number in the system. As a result on the day of the movers were unable to reach me to say that they were running late. Because my move was on a Sunday, there was absolutely no one in the office. This was very upsetting to me -- my movers weren't showing up, and there was no one I could reach to find out what was going on. I think that if Marathon is going to agree to take on weekend moves they should either have someone in the office or provide customers with movers' phone numbers. Marathon did not got back to me to apologize about this even though I left messages for 3 to 4 people that morning. Instead Lucas emailed me to say "Other than the communications problems, how did things go?" The move itself went fine. There were two people, one of whom worked very hard. The other person seemed mostly to just take inventory of my belongings. I've never seen anything like that before, and I've used professional movers many times. The move came in under the estimate, but because it was an out-of-state move that just means that my belongings weighed less than we had guessed they would. It took longer to perform than expected because the movers were late, and we were lucky that no one parked our spots once the reserved period expired. Overall Marathon was effective, but administrative problems in the office were disturbing enough that I would not recommend using them.

Marathon did an excellent job and were great to deal with. Paul Nelson came out and did a walk through and gave us an estimate that came in very reasonably in the middle of of the estimates we got. The moving crew showed up right on time on move day with 2 trucks and 7 movers and they worked very hard all day (a very hot day). Our old house was an older colonial with small rooms and difficult corners so it was not easy to get our stuff out and it took a long time. The crew did a fantastic job. No damage to the walls and no damage to any of our furniture. Same result at our new house, no damage to anything including the floors we had just had refinished. It was a long (13 hours), stressful and hot day and David (crew chief) and his crew made it as smooth and stress free as a move day can be. They were a pleasure to work with and very accommodating to every request. Great company to hire for something that is one of life's most unpleasant chores. I'll call them for my next move which hopefully will not be for a long time!

This is the second time I've used Marathon Moving and they continue to provide a good experience. They provided an estimate via the details I gave to them, which seemed a bit low from the last time they moved me. When I expressed that concern, they had one of their guys come over to look at everything I had to provide a more accurate quote. That quote was pretty dead on at the end of the day. They also provided 2 trucks just in case it ended up taking more room than they expected (which typically they would charge for). All our stuff actually could have fit in one truck, so they didn't charge me for the 2nd truck (even though they still used it to make things run more smoothly). The move out from both the storage facility and the apartment was pretty uneventful. Getting into the new house was another story. Its an older cape with very narrow doorways and there were several occasions where it was really tough to move things around. When they left, there was not one scrape anywhere on the walls. Also, they couldn't get our couch into the living room through the LR door, so they took the outside window out and got it in that way. There are a few other circumstances by which they totally went out of their way to accommodate us. These guys are great, I would totally use them again, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality moving service. It doesn't hurt that everyone (in the office, plus the movers) is super nice despite the fact that they're doing some pretty grungy and not fun work. Thanks Marathon!

I got 3 estimates for packing and moving, and Marathon was the most reasonable and accomodating. There were 3 packers who were careful and efficient with packing all our belongings and furniture. The following day, 4 movers spent the entire day moving boxes and furniture from our 3-floor condo to our new home, and stopped mid-way to pick up items from our storage space. They did great with all the stairs, and with hauling our queen-sized boxspring over our 3rd floor balcony. They were courteous, professional, and cheerful throughout the entire long day. Nothing broke, and nothing got scratched. Would recommend them without hesitation!

Estimate was too high. I took a chance with a large moving company, wiht bad reviews, for half the price -- and won.

We were extremely pleased with the level of service Marathon Moving provided. The movers arrived promptly on time and set to work, quickly loading the truck. The same efficiency and work ethic was evident on the other end as well, where the movers unloaded us with ease and worked at a very fast pace. The three movers were cheerful and easy going, but serious about getting the job done well. They carefully wrapped all of our furniture to protect it during the move and everything arrived unharmed. The estimate was right on target and the final bill was within less than $100 of what they quoted to us. The people we originally contacted about the move were courteous and helpful. At all levels, we were impressed by the personnel. I would definitely use Marathon Moving again.

They were fantastic. The crew (Dave, Zack and Rob) were polite and lovely to work with. It was a confusing move because not all the items in the house were moved and we had a couple of changes along the way. They were VERY accomodating and everything was "no problem". It was great. I've moved several times and the price on this was by far the best.

They were highly rated. The customer service was excellent. They were easy to get hold of, communicative and friendly. They did a good job. The quote was a little less that what I paid in the end. There was minor damage to a couple of art frames.

It was a fantastic experience and they were terrific. I had called a couple of different places before calling them. A woman who ran the office called me up within 15 minutes after I filled up the online estimate form. I had complete confidence in her and I never had any feeling that things wouldn't be done. They knew what they were doing. The 3 guys who came out were fast, efficient, polite and incredible. There was an awful stairwell through which they had to carry all the stuff down, but they did a terrific job. The price that they charged for the work done was reasonable even though I didn't compare it with other companies. There wasn't anything that I didn't like about them. If need be, then I would definitely use their services in the future.

Marathon Moving was absolutely fantastic! When I first called for a quote, they offered to send someone out to provide a more detailed price estimate (the estimate was spot-on). On the day of the move, the 3 movers showed up exactly on time and immediately went to work. I have never seen 3 people work so hard in my life! The apartment can be tricky to move large items in and out of (and it is on the top floor), but they had no problems. Anything that they had to disassemble was perfectly reassembled in the new house. After they were done moving everything in to the new house, they had us walk through each room with them so they could put all of our furniture exactly where we wanted it. They handled everything very delicately and made our moving day very easy. The 3 movers were great - they moved quickly but were careful not to damage anything. Very highly recommended!

We were very unhappy with most of our experience with Marathon Movers. Other than arriving on time and finishing in a timely manner, the movers did a pretty unsatisfactory job. Most of our belongings were packed in a very sloppy way. Boxes were not clearly marked. When they were moved to new house, many of the boxes were not moved into the correct rooms, even the movers marked where the boxes were to be placed. Pieces of furniture were not reassembled well. Very sloppy job. We were very disappointed and will not recommend this company.

Marathon was fantastic. The most important aspect of this project was to stay on schedule so that everyone else working could stay on schedule. The project went off without a hitch.

I used Marathon about a year ago and had such a great experience, I decided to use them again. The crew showed up on time and got right to work. It was an oppressively hot day but nothing slowed them down or or shook their pleasant moods. They showed great care for my belongings, particularly my antique pieces. They got my VERY heavy furniture in place at the new house in a flash and didn't even grumble when I asked them to move pieces to multiple locations (upstairs and own) until I was satisfied. During the move, I had a problem with my washing machine that required me to call a plumber for an emergency service call before I could remove it from the wall. Marathon got me unpacked at the new house and then made a second trip to the old house for the washing machine. Even with the two round trips, they still finished before schedule, saving me more than $1,000 off the estimated price. I couldn't be more satisfied! I recommend them to everyone I know.

Our experience was incredible from start to finish. On moving day the movers showed up and introduced themselves, explained the process and got on their way. They showed up with two trucks even though we thought we only needed one. They wanted to be sure the move went smoothly and brought the extra truck just in case. It was unbelievable how quickly and effieciently the team worked together. Not a scratch on any furniture, the truck was packed perfectly and again the team work made an effortless move for us. All furniture was placed correctly in our new home which made for an easy move in for us. They went above and beyond our expectations with their professionalism. We would recommend this company to anyone who is moving. Marathon Movers are truley experts in their field with competitive pricing and efficient, professional employees.

Again, this was the most seamless, easy move I could have asked for. They were punctual, organized, friendly, and hard-working. And, let's face it: moving is tough work for all involved, and it's stressful. From the first phone call / appointment to the completion of the move, they were with me every step of the way to organize the move from start to finish. The movers themselves were great guys. They took a look at my situation and knew, somehow, exactly where to start; how to get it packed up quickly; and how to make it all fit. It was absolutely unbelievable to me how easy this process had been, and I will never consider moving myself again! I would unequivocably use Marathon again for any services they provide, and have referred them to many of my friends.

My husband and I were actually referred to Angie's List by a friend. He used his Angie's List account, sorry if that is a no no, but he found us three different moving companies to have come out and look at our move. We were moving my mother and father from a cluttered house in Abington to a condo in Whitman. Marathon moving had the highest of the three quotes but we felt more comfortable with their sales rep who came out to the house and thought that their estimate had a little more detail. The office staff helped us with the many questions we had about packing. They crew arrived on time and even helped us finish packing that we didn't get to. The crew was great with my mother who can be very "particular" sometimes. The final bill came in slightly higher than the estimate but that was because we needed last minute packing. Overall we had a great experience with Marathon. We were not members of Angie's List unitl recently but we needed someone to do our deck and decided that we would sign up and use it again because we had such a great experience.
