After living in their home for 27 years, my parents were moving. It was a very emotional process but the guys at Marathon Moving were outstanding and helped to make this transition go smooth. They were professional, organized and efficient and were able to get everything moved to the new apartment and bring some things to storage quicker than the quoted time and for less than the quoted price. I would definitely recommend Marathon Moving!

Can't say enough great things about this company. From initial contact for a quote, to the estimate, the sales manager working with us through uncertain moving and house closing dates (and possible need for storage), to the actual move day of, everyone we came into contact with was professional, prompt, courteous and very responsive. They helped to keep us at ease with what was a complicated and stressful lead up to a move. The day-of movers were also great--efficient, careful with our belongings, courteous and professional. They even in the end adde 2 big bonuses--we actually came in just under the estimate and the sales manager was equally available via phone and email--making communications and exchange of updates much easier. Would highly recommend Marathon Moving Company if you are moving in/around the Boston area.

Overall, I was happy with Marathon. The staff were all professional and courteous and they were pretty clear about pricing from the start. The two-man team was pleasant and actually arrived a couple minutes early, which was great (they were waiting to call but I saw the truck). The move itself went as smoothly as one could have hope. They even took away a rug that I decided I didn't want once I saw it in the new place.

Very good overall experience. The movers (for the most part) worked very hard and very quickly to clear out the old house and get our belongings into the new house. This included making a second trip with their truck to the old house to get the remaining items that couldn't fit on the truck in the initial run. The crew was courteous, professional, and -- most important -- skilled in moving stuff. We provided lunch & drinks; they provided brawn. Afterwards, when I contacted the office about a few small items for which I was charged but shouldn't have been -- mattress bags, tape, etc. (we provided our own) -- the office refunded our money for those line items without a fuss.

We were happy with Marathon from start to finish. Steve came to the house; he answered all our questions and made helpful suggestions.His estimate was lower than other movers we considered. On moving day, we got a terrific six-man crew that was punctual, professional, friendly, and upbeat. They worked diligently all day and moved our valuables, including antiques, carefully. I heartily recommend Nick and his crew!

there aren't enough words to describe just how good this moving company was. we had to move out for a pretty extensive home renovation. From our very first contact with Shelia and Stephen in the front office, to the teams of Brandon and Tom, who moved us out, and Tom, Matt, and Mike. who moved us back in, everything was done so smoothly. Every single piece of my furniture was wrapped in blankets and taped up. They respected our space and our things. One of the things we did was refinish our hardwood floors and when we moved back in, the guys put down runners to protect the floors. They moved furniture when I didn't like where it was placed in the room, they put together a chair for me and a bed that had been previously delivered and put in the wrong room. If I ever have to move again, Marathon will be my first and only phone call. They were beyond awesome.

They were awesome. Very professional, efficient, accommodating, and friendly. We couldn’t have had a better experience.

The company was very easy to work with; gave an estimate by completing a form on line. They were the lowest of the 3 companies I contacted. The movers were on time and got right to work. They had all the furniture in the van in approximately an hour. It was a very hot and humid day. They were careful with all our furniture, even though it's very basic (and pretty old!) furniture. They were also careful with the floors and walls in both our old and new houses. The movers took almost no breaks, except for water. They were done the whole job in 3 hours. After, I contacted the company main office to compliment their work.

It was great. They were very professional and organized. We got the dates that we wanted. Four crew members came for the move. I didn't have any concerns about them. Before they gave me a quote, she came to look at everything so I knew that the quote was right. She was great. Other services didn't offer that option. They did extra stuff that that didn't have to do like move plants and lamps. They put all the kids toys into crates.

It was fine. They showed up on time. The crew was very nice and polite. They were very careful and did a good job.

Everything went fine. They were very good. They were on time. They did what I asked and listened to what I wanted them do. They checked with me before they left to make sure if everything was right. They were happy when I asked them to change something. They were able to use a discount that another company was offering.

It was good. Everyone was professional at all points of contact. They were very knowledgeable. They packed everything the first day and the second day they moved everthing.

They arrived as promised and were very careful moving my furniture and boxes. It was pouring rain and they made sure nothing got wet. Very polite and professional. They delivered to my new home the following day and again arrived on time. They laid down protective coverings over the hardwood floors. Best of all they came in under the estimate. Best movers I have ever used.

When I called to schedule, they wanted almost 3 times as much as I paid for the deal. I am only moving 2 rooms 30 mins away. $1,100 seems very excessive for that.

They were on time, professional, polite and I felt my things were being well taken care of. There was an issue with the pricing when the job was completed because it took longer than they expected, however, they did resolve the issue to my satisfaction and I was overall very satisfied with their service.

They did a fine job. Nothing was broken. I went with them because they had a fair price and a good reputation.

I have used Marathon before and was very pleased with the service I received. The workers were prompt, professional, and worked constantly through the day packing my belongings and loading the trucks. I had the same crew to unload at my new home and they worked just as hard and were careful to ask questions during the unloading if they were not sure where something went. My original quote was for 5000.+ and I assumed that was the entire amount for the move, when the guys were done unloading everything into my new home , the team leader presented me with another 2000.00+ bill... I was shocked . After a few days of negotiations the company understood my confusion and deducted that charge from my bill. This is a company with ethics, which is a difficult thing to find in the Moving industry, I will continue to reccommend Marathon to anyone that asks me, despite the misunderstanding !!!

Marathon had come highly recommended and certainly lived up to its reputation. Our first appointment was with Marathon rep. Kathy Keane, who came to the condo we were selling at exactly the appointed time, and completely put us at ease. She asked many questions, toured the entire two-floor apartment with recommendations on packing, answered all of our questions and made several helpful recommendations - such as Marathon providing recyclable wardrobe boxes for all our clothes so we would'nt need to pack them, and the company bringing their own boxes to transport our TVs. She promised to get us an estimate shortly, and within a few hours, we had it by email. We booked our move that day. The company quickly got town permits for the streets in front of our old and new address so their moving truck could park in front. After several spaced-out confirmation emails and phone calls from Marathon - always reassuring - four men showed up on time, managed by Nick De Vries. Nick and the rest of his crew were fabulous. First they took a tour of the entire apartment with us as we explained where furniture and various boxes would be going in the new place. We had told Kathy ahead of time we had several very large pieces of furniture that needed to be taken apart and rebuilt in the new apt. - including a huge armoire and a piano - and it was something we were quite nervous about. We were amazed at how methodically and carefully all this work was done, with each dismantled piece packed separately and perfectly reassembled in our new apt.. We also had valuable sculptures which were carefully wrapped and packed. The four men were incredibly nice, hard-working and helpful, and everything couldn't have gone smoother. They even offered to help us move pieces around within our new place until we were happy with the placement. I can't recommend Marathon highly enough. After 28 years in one place, this move was very stressful for us and Marathon made everything so much easier.

Excellent - I had short notice, they fit me on a Saturday, came on time and performed the task without a single problem.

I wrote a review for Angie's List. You can find the story there. Basically, I was initially quoted approx. $6000. for the move, with the Big Deal, approx. $5500. When I called to schedule I was told the price was approx.$8000, $7500 with the Big Deal (which I always had to remind the salesperson of). I asked why $2000. had been added to the original quote and was told it was because of my move date, June 30th and July 1st. But I had told the sales rep in March when he came to look at the house contents, that I would be moving at the end of June or beginning of July. I couldn't give a specific date because the open houses weren't scheduled until April 11th and 12th. Needless to say, I was very unhappy and decided to find another mover. BTW, May 29 is an estimate; I'm really not sure when in May I called.

Very well - one of the movers hurt himself and kept moving! I felt terrible....they were all very nice and easy to work with.

I chose Marathon Moving because of the courtesy I received in a random meeting with a crew at EZ Storage in Needham. Then I called and the good experience continued. The process was smooth from estimate to the move. I also needed storage for a month ? no problem, Kathy said, and it was arranged. On the day of my move, the crew arrived as scheduled. We were still packing, ?no problem? they said and we continued. They were efficient, courteous, and professional, even serving as my therapist in times of stress (sort of kidding but they were great). Did I mention that they were helpful and respectful too? Well, they will complete the move soon (it is in two parts) and I am confident that all will go well. Importantly, I checked other movers (their websites for services and what they offer through Angie's List) as well calling to get pricing. Marathon Moving was very competitive in these areas.

Good, fast, and friendly service. They finished quicker than I expected, and much faster than they'd put in their quote estimate, so I was pleasantly surprised by the bill. Best of all, there were no hidden extra fees and no haggling. They let us use our own boxes and mattress bags and didn't try to charge us for that.

They were punctual, hard-working, appropriately careful with our things, and worked very well as a team. I would definitely recommend this moving company!
