We are truly happy with the work that was done and re outcome of our finished basement. Very professional and timely.

Overall we are happy with the finished product of our basement. However, our satisfaction I believe is a result of us having to closely monitor our signed contract to make sure all aspects of the project were completed accordingly. If you don't may careful attention to what is included in the contract, it is easy for things to get overlooked. We decided to go with the Owens Corning system because it was advertised as a complete project with one project manager overseeing all aspects which we felt was easier than dealing with multiple contractors. During the project we found several areas of the room which either were not done according to the contract or simply were not done at all. The project manager seemed anxious to collect our final payment, but when these areas were pointed out to him he quickly made sure that all our concerns were addressed.

I couldn't be happier with the outcome! Fast, friendly, punctual, professional just to say a few things. Thanks again!

Overall, the installation of the Owens Corning Basemen Finishing System by Lux Renovations went well. Be flexible on the start time of your project. Our project was expected to start 3 months after we signed the contract and we had to wait an additional month+ for them to start and the construction takes longer than the 2 weeks mentioned in their ad. Our Project Manager was very good. Listened to my concerns and made verbal adjustments with his team however, any changes you make to your project along the way have to be written down on their drawing/sketch/rendering otherwise they probably won't get done unless you stay on top of the work being done each day. There was a disconnect between Sales and the Installation Team. There was one area that the Salesman said they would take care of, but when the time came to start the project, the Project Manager advised us that would not be the case. Then the drawing for the bathroom and placement of the waste water pump was off significantly which could have meant the bathroom wouldn't be added, but we worked with their plumber and thankfully came to a resolution. The waste water pump was moved to the other end of the bathroom which gave us a few more square feet in the bathroom. It just makes it a little harder to get into our crawl space. I will say the basement looks much nicer than it did, much more functional and nice without the mildew/mold smell. Just be prepared for a little "sticker shock", but in the end, I'm glad we did it.

Excellent. The workers were always on time. The craftsmanship was outstanding. The small issues that needed to be addressed were done immediately and correctly. Job was completed in about 2.5 weeks.

We are very happy with the finished project. They started about a week after they were scheduled to begin, but once started they were very fast and efficient. I was originally told that it would take up to five weeks to finish the basement, but they were done in just a little over two. The Owens-Corning walls are great, and I love that we can get behind the panels if we ever have a problem. The kids love pining their pictures to the walls, and I love that that doesn't leave marks in the long run. We've attached bookcases and furniture into the metal studs with no problems. I love the way our basement looks and would definitely recommend Lux Renovations.

Overall, it went well. The finished project looks awesome! There were a few hiccups along the way which might have been better anticipated by the project management team, but they kept at the job and got it done right. We've received lots of compliments, and we love our new space for entertaining!

Work was done ahead of schedule and everything was to code, done wonderfully, and all questions were answered in a timely manner. We love our new basement and use it daily. It not only added a bit of space to our living area, but also gave us a new way to entertain and find new comfort in our home. I would absolutely recommend Lux Renovations to anyone who is looking to renovate their basement without fear of problems or late work or unfriendly salesmen/workmen. We had an excellent experience.

We joke about it now. Like many retired couples our plan had been in place for decades. We would purchase our retirement home and live the American Dream for our remaining years. My wife would finally have her modern kitchen with new appliances, recessed lighting, granite countertops, large center island, etc. and I would have my man-cave with full size pool table, big screen TV, bar, fridge and lounge furniture. So, we purchased the home. It was perfect, everything we wanted with one exception----- no man-cave. However, it did have a 1,500 sq ft unfinished basement. We agreed before purchasing that I would be allowed to pursue a basement renovation to create my man-cave. And so I did. I did my research and settled on Owens-Corning as the material manufacturer I desired. Their state-of-the-art science based renovation products are simply the best available. Their products mitigate two major basement renovation dangers--------- moisture/humidity and mold. And their products are aesthetically pleasing and user friendly. Lux Renovations are partners with Owens-Corning. Lux does the work. Much like the Make-A-Wish foundation Lux are the dream makers. I scheduled a consult with Lux Design Representative, Gary. He arrived punctually with a carload of sample Owens-Corning products. After hearing me out concerning my dream man-cave Gary proceeded to showcase and explain each product used by Lux in a typical basement renovation. His in-depth knowledge of the function of each product was both refreshing and informative. After reviewing the products Gary asked for some "alone time" in the basement. He emerged 45 minutes later with several architectural sketches in hand. He gently revealed the price for a full scale 1,500 sq ft renovation. I glanced at my wife to see her reaction and immediately knew with no words exchanged that this proposal was out of the question. I sensed my dream becoming a nightmare. Gary intuitively saw my predicament and came to my rescue by explaining that in his opinion a typical man-cave did not require a 1,500 sq ft renovation. In fact, a perfectly acceptable man-cave accommodating everything I wanted could be accomplished within a 600 sq fr renovation. He showed us his proposal for just such a project. I looked at my wife and noticed a slight uptick in the corners of her mouth and an almost imperceptible nod of approval. Still no words spoken but I knew my dream was alive and well. We signed the paperwork and Gary bid us good day stating that a Lux Project Manager would be in touch. Dan was our Lux Project Manager. He called the next day, introduced himself, gave us all his contact information and informed us that he would be managing our renovation project from start to finish. He urged us to contact him directly should we have any questions. He told us that he would handle everything including pulling town permits, scheduling product deliveries, scheduling tradesmen in and out and performing random site visits. He also said the renovation would be complete within two weeks of the start date. My wife rolled her eyes heavenward when I told her that. My wife is a master of non-verbal communication. As it turned out Dan was a man of his word. Exactly two weeks after the start date my dream was a reality. I sat at my kitchen window as trucks arrived and departed, dropping off supplies in their wake. Likewise, workmen came and went------- framers, electricians, carpet installers, etc.. Town inspectors made a couple of visits and Dan himself showed up intermittently to check on progress. Just like Make-A-Wish, Lux Renovations made my dream come true.

Work was done quickly and efficiently. The workmen were extremely courteous and professional. The quality was wonderful and they left their workspace immaculate. we love the room and since we use it so much, we recently added a bathroom in the basement.

There where unforeseen issues that should not have impacted the project.

Overall, a positive experience with Owens Corning - Lux Renovations! We learned of the company at an information fair. They contacted soon after and sent a representative to look at our basement. They drew up a couple of floor plan options for us and gave us a price quote for each. Once we agreed to the design and price, there was a slight with the start time of the project due to the fact they were wrapping up another project, however, once the project started, it was went pretty smoothly. The whole process was relatively easy for us though since Owens Corning coordinated getting the permits, hiring the contractors, and etc. We have been enjoying our new basement for a couple years now and have had no complaints about the the workmanship or the quality of the materials that were used. We are still very glad we went with a reputable company that delivered and we have been very proud of our finished basement.

I would not recommend this company.

The company was very prompt in responding to our initial outreach and setting up a visitation. Other than the sales guy being 20 minutes late, he was a pleasure to work with. Had a story or an anecdote for every town and everyone he's ever worked with. He made a very big deal to emphasize how they go through the extra effort to have a quality product. It took nearly two hours of story telling and sales positioning to finally get to the measurements and initial estimate. The number that they came back with was well over double our budget. We were direct and upfront about this and had to spend an additional 40 minutes of trying to adjust the design, the materials, and find incentives to bring the price down. He still could not get it close to a number that we were comfortable with. He insisted multiple times that we "just finance it" which we did not want to do or "find some extra money around" to do it. They would not let us sit on a proposal over the weekend. We opted not to go with them and did not appreciate the high pressure sales tactic. We met with another contractor shortly after and despite a longer work schedule, have a proposal which is much closer to our budget and will offer something much closer to what we want in a space.

LUX contacted us to offer a proposal. We were surprised that LUX was advised to contact us as they are solely a basement remodel company and not equipped to complete the entire project. Their salesperson was punctual and their salesperson was very knowledgable and after initially signing a contract and postdating a deposit, we decided to exercise our right of recision within the three day window. Our reasons were; After an opportunity to consider and discuss between ourselves we determined the price was excessive for the product offered. We believe their product may definitely be of good quality but feel it is overly expensive. We would have had limited funds available for our main project which was the kitchen remodel. We would not re-consider using Lux due to our desire to use a single provider for the entire project and associated cost.

Basically, a person came out Andrew a picture of the center of the basement and said it would be about $50,000. So I didn't pursue

For the deal only costing $49.00, I would say it was well worth it for me. They gave me a lot of ideas and solutions to attack our problems. Initially, I was just looking for a new set of eyes on the basement so I can see what someone in the industry might recommend. Since they spent the time, I know foresee me using their services for the basement when we decide to renovate.

I purchased a Big Deal through Angie's List for a Custom Basement Design Plan Plus $2,000 Credit. This deal was purchased through Lux Renovation. I set up an appointment and the person that arrived at my home was from Owens Corning and informed me that they do not do designs. I was quite concerned due to the deal description and the person that came out was equally confused. The Representative from Lux that I spoke to was very short and rude and they cancelled one appointment (the D rating in professionalism is based on the Lux rep). The Rep from Owens Corning was very professional and nice but was not a designer and equally confused as to why he was there.

Every thing went smoothly without a hitch. Building inspector came to go over the project and gave the authorization to begin the work. The electrition came did his part and the workers started their job. It took 2 weeks which was the agreement.We're in awe with the results of our new basement and would highly recommend Lux Renovations. Everything was great, no hidden cost as with other projects we encountered. Should you select Lux to finish your basement you"ll be greatly satisfied.

While the price was outlandish ($48k to finish an approximately 450 sq.ft. basement area), the guy who came out was punctual, pleasant and knowledgeable. He even reluctantly acknowledged the price was pretty insane, saying that they usually only sell 2 out of every 10 pitches but that the profit margin was so high that the "bosses" were fine with that. The proposal itself was pretty bare bones: their OC wall system, dropped ceiling, recessed lighting and a "free" carpet. We opted to go the traditional route (studs and sheetrock) with another contractor and we're 80% done with a work scope that involved relocating lally columns and adding a full bath...and we're looking at a completed cost of about $27k. So we're getting a much more complete (and better looking) finished space at $20k less than what LUX priced their job at.
