After setting up an appointment, receiving an over the top glossy brochure in the mail and having two people come out to take a look at our job, we heard nothing back from Capital Construction. I phoned twice to get the quote and was told by Karla that it was on the way. They never sent the quote. Obviously our job was too small for them and they couldn't be bothered. Very unprofessional.

Aaron and crew were excellent. This was a tough job, in the bitter cold and they did not stop until the job was completed. They asked about problem spots, assessed the area for snow deposits from the roof and did a great job. Many thanks to this team.

The team that came out was amazing! What a great work ethic they all had, and they were really nice guys too! The leader of the 3-person team did a wonderful job walking around and sizing-up the situation before beginning (complex roof on a 3-story home with dormers, multiple valleys and very step pitches). He explained everything in detail, and answered all my questions, and taught me a lot along the way. The team worked very hard to meet our needs and did so in the 2-hr time frame we were allotted. By contrast, last week our gutter cleaning company came out to do the same job and accomplished very little. The difference between their work and Capital Construction's work was like night and day!

Purchased a two hour minimum, and they were done in 45 minutes leaving snow on two ends of the roofs, so they only removed approximately 3/4. They completely removed the back because the roof is flat, and removed some off the edge on the front of the house, but left two pretty big piles on both sides about a foot high . I thought since they were done early I would get a break on cost, unfortunately, I still had to pay for two hours. Since I paid for two hours, I expected the guys to get back on the roof after their call to the office and remove all the snow. When I called in to schedule an appointment they called back a few hours later the same day, and they arrived on time on the scheduled day, so in this area they are good.

Contractor did not return calls to change service, then arrived at our residence a day early and refused to wait until we raced home (20 minutes) for guidance on where to dump snow. Ended up ruining several mature plantings and burying bird feeders. Had they notified us prior, or arrived as expected, we would have arranged to be home to direct their efforts appropriately. We paid the bill, but would not hire them again.

The team arrived at the agreed upon location at the time specified. They showed care for the items they were moving as well as for the many people in the the busy hallways and in exiting the public entrances they needed to negotiate. Similarly, the move at the other end went very well. They made the process of moving office furniture to and through our home a quick and easy process.

The work was done by a few different teams of workers, because it involved a variety of skills, and was managed by Dave and Jude. The painting was extensive and the team was a pleasure to work with and did a great job for a fair price. The concrete was also done extremely fast and professionally. Dave was good at reviewing and checking each job after it was done, and bringing workers back to address unfinished work. He was also responsive to any concerns that came up. It took a little while to fully complete the whole project, what with rainy weather and changing crews, but we were happy with the level of ongoing communication and never felt that they had dropped the ball. We will definitely work with them again, particularly with projects like this that require a wide variety of work.

Our whole family uses them. They are great to work with. The one thing I really like about them is that if something isn't done right they come and fix it without hassle or additional cost. Their costs are very reasonable.

It went pretty well and we didn't have any concerns. They were prompt and followed up. We have asked them since for an estimate to repair the roof. We went with a different provider as their estimate was significantly higher for the roofing work. The pricing for the gutter cleaning was good.

I needed to paint, cover or replace some of the exterior wood siding to comply with the lead law following an inspection. Some of the wood was unpaintable, and I don't like the appearance of vinyl or aluminum siding, so I searched for a company to replace the wood with Hardi board siding. I learned that Hardi must be installed correctly to exact specification to avoid problems with moisture damage, and I hired Capital Construction because of the good reputation it had garnered and because it was certified to work on projects involving lead paint. Jude Watters handled the estimation and negotiation process. He was respectful throughout, answered all my questions patiently and never made me feel pressure to sign. He also managed interactions with the work crew, and was on top of the work process every day. The work was very professional, and the crew took care to minimize disturbing the tenants and neighbors. The building is in a tight location, so the disturbance could have been substantial if not managed carefully. At my request, they took some trash from the basement, cheerfully and at no extra charge. Damaged window screens were repaired promptly. It was a big job and took more than 3 weeks, but notwithstanding the local disturbance and inconvenience to folks, I had no complaints from either tenants or neighbors, which I greatly appreciated. The only small issue for me was that the white trim showed some dirty hand prints, but it's not noticeable until you get real close and I didn't feel it was worth making an issue. The company is very responsive during the project; calls were promptly returned. After the work was completed, however, the responsiveness dropped. Specifically, I needed an invoice for the lead inspection, and that took 2 months to collect. Ultimately, though, I am very pleased and would not hesitate to hire them again.

Capital Construction did an A+ job. They showed up on time, maintained a clean worksite, observed permit and safety requirements, did not exceed their cost estimate and completed the project on time, as expected with no surprises or excuses. They even replaced some rotted railing on my porch free of charge because “it needed to be done” (I didn’t even ask!). Their staff and workers are polite, professional and easy to communicate with. And the owner and/or foreman did a walkthrough of the project with us before beginning and after completion. And two very minor questions we had during the project were quickly attended to. I can easily classify Capital Construction as reliable. They were legitimately interested in ensuring that we were happy with the results (which we were), taking the time to check in with us, etc. I would use them again without question.

Two calls to this firm requesting a quote were never returned. UPDATE: I finally got a call back after they read this review. I was told they could not schedule an appointment to send someone out to give a quote for several days, so we'll see what happens.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went well. They were on time and professional. The price was good. I'm sure they did a great service but the deal was for them to also check the roof to see if I had any problems and to give an assessment. I never got that information. They honored the price. I should have been vigilant and took the intuitive to ask questions. I was not informed of any results. They were quite responsive. I would get a quote from them but I would discuss my concerns before I would ever consider using them.

I wish every contracting company were this amazing to work with. Jude, the general contractor, is a pleasure to work with. His team is amazing. The work they did was flawless and brilliant. And they had a ton of knowledge and confidence. Seriously, the best contractors to deal with!

This past summer, I contacted Capital Construction to do carpentry and painting on my mother?s garage. Louise was lovely on the telephone, and Jude followed up with a thorough inspection of the site. We then received an extremely detailed work plan with a reasonable estimate, all packaged professionally in a folder. In the end, we were completely happy with the results. My mother reported that the men who came to her house were wonderful ? friendly in conversation and immaculate in their work! We highly recommend Capital Construction!

When I first contacted Capital Construction for an estimate, my roofing situation was complicated by insulation that had just been added on two rooms in the attic. The insulation was so tight that the ridge vent and louvers were blocked. The remaining attic storage area (beyond the knee walls of the attic rooms) was stuffy, even in the spring, and the build up of humidity could have created several problems. From the first meeting with Jude I could tell that he recognized the importance of adding ventilation. The solutions he suggested were carefully explained and carried out. I am very happy with the results. Jude set the starting date several weeks ahead and kept me informed of the delay which was only a couple of days. The estimate of the length of the job was on target The workmen were professional and respectful. I had only one suggestion at the end which had to do with a small improvement in clean up of the yard. This was done promptly.

We were extremely happy with every aspect Of dealing with Capital Construction , They were very professional from Jude coming By to give us an estimate to follow up emails and phone calls , To david and the crew that did the job for us. The day we arranged for the work to be done The crew showed up right on time , They introduced themselves and got right to work! There was a potential problem at one stage and They called me straight away and asked if I could Come back so they could show me and discuss the Possible plans , David was extremely helpful and reassured me It wasn't as bad as it looked ! We were extremely happy with the whole job They cleaned as they went along and at end of Day we had a brand new roof!! It was difficult to get in touch with the proivder. We played "phone tag: several times. After several weeks went by, I finally got them onthe phone and he stated that the gutters had been cleaned! He sent me a few pictures to verify. I wasnt' 100% it was pictures ofmy house. BUt that was that.

Dave's team is always great to work with. They keep you informed where they are in the project if anything un-expected comes up such as weather or unplanned materials and they're great at returning phone calls and emails. Super easy to work with and very, very reliable! Due to the age of the building the build of layers of materials was a little challenging but Dave kept us informed and the end result was exactly what we were looking for. They did a great job and it looks fantastic!

Everything went great. They showed up when they said they would and cleaned up everyday when they were done and cleaned really well. The work they did was beautiful. The job took an extra day as they did not want a rush job because the crown molding that was being installed was not what I was expecting and it was fixed no problem

All work was done on time and on budget. The crew was very professional and the workmanship was of high quality. The team answered all of our questions and addressed any concerns or special requests quickly. I would definitely hire Capital Construction again for other remodel/construction projects.

Capital did a really fine job of replacing our roof and our front deck -- expert workmanship, polite and friendly workers and they cleaned up after themselves every day. Also, we had the ability to contact Jude of Capital by phone any time with any questions. So we were impressed. But what really impressed us more was was after the house exterior painting was almost done, we noticed a mistake in the color. David, the owner, came out to the house and decided immediately to assign a crew to come back for two days to apply another coat of paint in the correct color on all of the house. In addition, he created a punch list of details that he noticed for his workers to complete at the same time. All of this at no extra cost to us. The result is A+, not only for the work, but for the integrity of the Capital Construction management. We recommend them highly.
