Mass Pools

Quote requested for services through Angi for Mom's house in Walpole. Company never responded to quote request. Not a very effective system.

Project was a nightmare. I would not recommend this company for replacing a liner. Probably better with small jobs, did not seem to knowledgeable about the liner process and I ended up with a 800 water bill and 300 electric bill. Pool liner had wrinkles from start but he insisted the wrinkles would come out but they didn't and the pool needed to be drained and the fans ran for days. It was a long 5-6 days and I wish that I had hired a better company that knew the job better.Guy was very nice until I let him know that I did not like his work and was not happy with it and he did not appreciate that I would not go out to the pool and try to brush out the wrinkles myself. I was the first customer to not do this he told me. Can't imagine customers going out and doing this when they are paying over $3000 for something. I should of just waited for Holmes pools but wanted to get the liner done.I did not want to pay him until my utility bills came but he was demanding of his money. He took a couple of hundred of and felt he was giving me a break. It was a horrible experience and I would not recommend this company for a liner replacement.

They called me very quickly at first because I sent email from work and I believe they thought it was a job for a big CO. After he found out just a home owner ignored 100% Never answered emails and voicemail full.

I really want to hire them again. Their service, timing and prices were excellent. I would recommend them to others.

I always wonder how people like this stay in business when they clearly lack the professional courtesy or respect for the customer! I scheduled a site visit with James for the next day at 8:00 AM, he assured me that my home was on the way to his next scheduled call so I adjusted my time accordingly and waited. No show! I assumed maybe he ran into some problems or traffic so I called his cell phone 20 minutes after scheduled visit. Phone rang and proceeded to voice mail. I left a message informing him I was still waiting for him and to call me if he had any issue. Not only did he not show up, he didn't have the professional courtesy to call me back or give an explanation. These are always troubling signs to anyone thinking about hiring such a company or individual. Tim UPDATE: This is exactly what I mean when I wonder how pple stay in business yet give all kind of misleading information - To make a claim such as this, that weather was the hindering factor due to safety and other concerns is IMO even lower and lower on the credibility scale. January 24th 2013 the date of the missed appointment had no snow or any kind of detrimantal weather as indicated in the response. Chilly yes, and quite usual for January weather but snow it was not! I had not used my pool for quite a while so I called Mass Pools to get me up and running. James is very personable, friendly, accommodating and careful not to dirty the house. He is also willing to teach you how to do things to keep up the pool. His price is certainly a bargain. James used a portable motor and filter to avoid dirtying my filter. However, he had to clean his own filter once he was at my house.. .When he was finished the pool water was still cloudy. He said it would clear up with more filtering. It did not, so he came back. He used the same motor and filter and this visit he had to clean the whole apparatus. I feel that cleaning his equipment should have been done before coming and not done at my house taking up more time. What should have taken 30 minutes ended up taking two hours. To his credit he did not charge for the second visit. In the end he never solved the problem. I have learned since that it is because the chemicals were not balanced and once balanced the water cleared up. He did check the pool with a dipstick which seemed OK . However, the dipstick was not sufficient to find the problem. He says he has been in the business 10 years and has had his own business for 7 years. So he is not new to the problems of keeping up equipment and i think that chemical balance knowledge is necessary to get a pool up and running. I gave him an overall C because of the fact that he did not clean his equipment before coming, and that he did not solve the problem.

Excellent, I highly recommend James and Mass Pools. He's professional, smart, fair, pricing is excellent and he's a very honest guy that I could trust. I'm looking forward to seeing him in the Spring to re-open the pool and help us with some repairs and repainting.
