I met Ellen in November of 2011. She had helped close friends find and buy a home, and was also working with my brother to purchase his first home. We worked together, weekly, for almost six months to find my current home. Once she learned my interest and price-range, she was dedicated and thoughtful about finding listings that fit. She was by my side as I drove all over Cambridge and Somerville, checking out every decent looking house/condo in my price-range. Never pressured me to buy something if I wasn't interested. Ellen is very honest and extremely hard working. She is a dogged advocate for her clients - which is important in an area where most properties are over 100 years old. She would always give me honest feedback, which I appreciate. If a property was a good deal, she would state so, but would always respect my opinion about whether or not I felt like I could live there or not. When I was finally ready to purchase, I was deciding between two properties. She told me that given my current responsibilities, she would recommend the less expensive property (for many logical reasons) - which meant a lower commission for her. That is my current home and I could not be happier. I have recommended Ellen G. Friedman to everyone and anyone I know who is in the process of purchasing a home in Massachusetts.
