replacement windows
+ -1 moreOverall, I'd say these people are sloppy, careless, irresponsible, and unreliable. They do not know how to "DO WINDOWS" and should not be hired as window replacement or repair people.
Description of Work: I asked the owner to come by and give me an estimate for window replacement. He never showed up. On subsequent occasions, I stopped in to have screens replaced or glass cut for picture frames, and they did decent work on those projects (much like any hardware store would do). It was when I went back that I saw that they are not really in the window replacement business at all. There's just this semi-retired owner and his son-in-law in a tiny, junky, run-down hovel. I have seen a "window job" they did at another location and it was very shoddy. The windows didn't fit properly, the owner and his son-in-law made huge messes every day they were on site and didn't clean them up, they disappeared for weeks, leaving termporary coverings over half-installed windows, and generally acted like they had no idea what they were doing.

+ -1 moreHere are the facts - you be the judge. Windows were difficult to remove and rather than put down masking tape, Cambridge Glass (the owner) simply scratched up the newly installed and painted window trim. Thus leading to our having to repaint it and leaving it dinged in places nonetheless. Took a small window to be repaired and after being scolded for damaging the window sills, simply did not return the small window. Made two phone calls -- Dec 09 and Jan 10 to have it returned and finally had to threaten legal action, after which window was returned having been repaired. Next time would spend a little more and avoid the service problems.?
Description of Work: Replacement of certain clouded windows.
