+ -1 moreWithout styling myself an audiophile, I was looking for quality components. I was a bit intimidated and I wanted and a lot of hand-holding. I walked into Audio Lab with a general notion as to what I wanted, but little knowledge of available technologies and products. Mike was extremely helpful in his terse way, patient and never condescending. He advised me on components to buy and on how to set up my system, including components they don't stock, such as a DLP projector. He answered questions on the phone after I took my purchases home.
Description of Work: Having recently bought a house, I wanted to upgrade my music system. I bought a pair of floor speakers, an amplifier/tuner, a CD/DVD player, an iPod adapter and performance cables for the speakers.

+ -1 moreTook about a week to fix. I was disappointed that the CD player, that was my main reason for traveling to Cambridge to get repairs, was not repairable but it wasn't their fault. It's good that someone still repairs things and I'd return to them again.
Description of Work: Brought in two CD players and a receiver. Cleaned and performed minor repairs on one CD player and performed minor repair on the receiver; which had one channel not working for me. For them it worked so the problem must have been elsewhere in the system. Other CD player not repairable.

+ -1 moreTHEY DO GREAT WORK, AND ALWAYS CALL WITH AN ESTIMATE BEFORE PERFORMING REPAIRS. SOMETIMES THEIR TURNAROUND TIME IS A LITTLE BIT SLOW.
Description of Work: I''VE HAD AUDIO LAB REPAIR NUMEROUS ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS FOR ME, BOTH PERSONALLY, AND AS PART OF VOLUNTEER WORK THAT I DO AS ENGINEER FOR A HIGH SCHOOL RADIO STATION. THEY HAVE A REPAIR DEPARTMENT THAT IS RESPECTED BY MANY BROADCAST ENGINEERS IN BOSTON, AND I RECOMMEND THEM OFTEN. MOST RECENTLY, THEY REPAIRED A COUPLE OF CD PLAYERS THAT HAD BEEN IN USE FOR A LONG TIME AND NEEDED CLEANING/ALIGNMENT. THEY GET THEM RUNNING LIKE NEW.
