4 Buyers Real Estate

I was recommended to 4 Buyers Real Estate by friends who had used them successfully.  My agent was Dianne Schaefer.  She was extremely patient and helpful during a search that lasted approximately 4 months.  She was able to understand the features that were important to me quickly, and gently steered me away from a couple potential bad decisions.  The firm serves as buyers' agent exclusively.  I felt much more comfortable knowing that I was working with someone without potential agency conflicts.  Dianne and 4 Buyers founder Rona Fischman know the market very well, and I felt Dianne represented me very professionally and effectively.  The agency charged a $500.00 retainer fee which was refunded when I closed. I would recommend them without hesitation.

When we found out we were pregnant last fall, we decided we needed a single family house instead of our 3rd floor walk up condo..We found 4Buyers on Angie's list, and were immediately struck by how honest and down to earth they were.We started the house-hunt around the holidays, and though we had some strict criteria in mind in terms of what features we wanted in the house, we were very open-minded when it came to towns, so there were a lot of options to filter through. And due to the baby schedule, we were on a timeline, so had to find a house by a certain date.
We worked with Dave Twombly primarily, but also had the veteran knowledge of Rona Fischman to help us navigate all the different options. We looked at a ton of houses, and we were happily surprised at the honesty of our realtors. There were a few times that we were interested in a few different houses, and they talked us out of the more expensive houses (even though it meant a higher commission for them) in exchange for the cheaper house that they felt we would enjoy more.We felt they definitely looked out for interests, and weren't just trying to sell us a house.
Rona has been in the business for years, and at one point almost became a house inspector. So, walking through any house with her was very interesting and informative! Really nice to not have to wait to put in an offer, and get an inspector in order to find out if anything major was wrong..
Dave Twombly was particularly responsive to all of our questions and house-hunting needs. We emailed just about every day, and saw him a few times a week - either at scheduled appts or open houses. Even though he had other clients, we definitely felt like we were the only ones. He also has a great sense of humor, and it made it fun to be hanging out just about every weekend. We ended up finding a house that had just about everything we wanted, and we really appreciate all the work he did for us, and we look forward to hanging out with him on our new deck!

I think so highly of Rona's work that years after she helped us buy our house, I did some consulting work for her, mostly for the satisfaction of working with someone who's so good at what she does.

We came to 4 Buyers for Rona based on a recommendation. We were fortunate to work with both Rona, who is 4 Buyers owner,  and and her new agent, Dave Twombly.  As first time home buyers, we wanted to work with a real estate company whose agents are honest, have integrity and who will play devil's advocate when necessary.  4 Buyers is an excellent real estate company with the right values--you know that they are totally committed to you, the buyer.  From the first open house we toured with Dave we could tell he had all those qualities we wanted in an agent.  He spent a lot of time getting to know us so that he could understand our needs and values.  I thought I was in love with one of the earliest houses he showed us, and rather than cheer lead us into making an offer, he asked us several questions that gently pointed out this wasn't the right house.  He was able to do that all subsequent OH we attended together.  He also checked out several houses for us at brokers' open houses and gave us thorough assessments, which allowed us to eliminate obvious losers and save time.  During each OH we attended he had a great eye for pointing out potential problems with a house and continued to ask us questions that forced us to examine our "must have"  and "nice to have" lists.  Dave is very responsive--any time we had a question he got back to us, usually within an hour of emailing him. He is also a very personable guy and my husband and I truly enjoyed working with him.   We eventually found a home that hit all our "must haves" and Dave and Rona guided us every step of the way.  Dave and Rona are a great team--they have an easy rapport which made the house buying process surprisingly fun. They are also completely honest and in your corner.   The house we bought offered a 3% commission to the buyers' agent and because Rona does not take any "kick backs" or incentives, she passed the extra 1/2% on to us.  Every contractor she referred us to from inspector to lawyer to chimney sweep, etc was exceptional.  We highly  recommend 4 Buyers Real Estate for honest, unbiased, no nonsense representation from agents like Dave and Rona who informed, smart, funny and great to work with.  

Rona Fischman was an exceptionally helpful agent. She eased us into the buying process with a detailed explanation of all steps involved. She was excellent at screening houses, but also went with us to see the houses that we wanted to see. She was with us every step of the way. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy a house; especially for first time home buyers (like us) who may find buying a house a daunting task.

Overall, working with Dianne Schaefer and 4 Buyers Real Estate made what could have been a nerve-wracking experience, calmer -- and saved me a lot of time, energy, and money (because I made a smarter purchase than I would have on my own.)

I have had 3 very positive buying experiences with Rona. I do not know anyone, in any phase of business or other professional endeavor, who is more ethical or more professional. I have never questioned who Rona represents in a deal. Her best interests came a distant second to mine in each of the 3 experiences. In 1997, Rona talked me out of buying a more expensive house because she foresaw a water problem. She received significantly less commission, but did the right thing for her customer. (I met the people who bought that house and they indeed had a severe water problem.) In 2001, she fought with the sellers and successfully got a price reduction because of bad seller behavior. In 2009, she stood by us through a protracted purchase process. But Rona does more than that. Rona isn't a home inspector, but she knows a lot about how to spot problems before you make an offer. She is a great resource for true professionals to aid in the process. She helped me find the most thorough inspector I have seen in 8 buy/sell transactions. She recently helped me find a mold remediation service even though it was for a house I was selling, not one I was buying. (The people she suggested were better qualified than the people my agents in the sale of my current home recommended and were less than half the price.)
