Description of Work: Installed a stainless steel chimney cap (41" x 16"),with a full roof to keep the weather and critters out. They had a team of three. It went quickly, and from the ground, it appears that they did a good job.

Description of Work: |I was told last year that I needed a cover for my chimney by a different business and was quoted a price of $850 for a stainless steel cap. We didn't do it. This year the matter worsened and we were advised by the same business that the price, with plastic trim board to replace rotted wood , would now be $1050. This seemed like a high price and we wanted a second quote. We were impressed with the Angie reviews for Old Tyme Chimney Sweep and called him. He came down and took a look at the chimney cover and agreed it was rusted and needed replacement. He quoted a price of $905 which included a discount for Angie's list. When he called to set up an appointment my wife asked about the need for the trim board- did his price include this? He said something to the effect that he didn't know and would not have time to come and evaluate the matter. He then cancelled twice before making the appointment. We figured this was busy season and were not too put off. When he came to do the job he looked at the chimney and advised we did need to replace the rotted wood- he hadn't seen it before as it was in the back. He did the job and presented a bill for $1234.50-some $185 more than the initial quote from the first business. |If he had given us this price initially we wouldn't have hired him. I was pretty irritated. After a discussion it was agreed that I would pay $1100. Not a great experience. | |By the way, above we rated his quality as "B". In fairness I have no idea of the quality. I hope it's "A"

Description of Work: Cleaned my fireplace flue. Dan was prompt, very efficient and thoroughly cleaned up. A very professional job. You might find prices cheaper elsewhere, but the no hassle results are worth the $190.

Description of Work: Inspected chimney with 3 flues. Swept 2 flues. Capped Chimney. Took longer than expected for scheduling (middle of the summer). Felt the services were more expensive than I might have expected. We agreed to a credit card for payment, but was conveniently forgotten when provider was onsite. My delegate had to provide a check. I had informed provider I would not be onsite hence the credit card. Certainly don't feel cheated, but definitely did not conclude my transaction with a feeling "oh, i'll use him again!". May well do business again, but just didn't have an enthusiastic experience.
