Waltham Pest Control

The last two appointments were interesting to say the least. I called them after the first (out of 3 eligible) visits because we continued to see ants in the property. The technician came on time. My wife was leaving the house and told him that I was inside and asked him to knock on the door. However this didn't happen and when I contacted them I was told that they didn't perform the service because nobody was home! They added that if they had to come out again it would count towards the second eligible visit, which didn't make any sense. I said fine as I was getting sick of the whole deal. The next time another technician came. He said that it was not yet time for the second eligible visit and that he would just spray around the house, which was nice. I showed him some new insect activity near the garage door. He mentioned that these were some kind of wasps and that the big deal plan did NOT include coverage for them. I had to pay another $100 to get rid of them. I realized later that I could have just gone to Home Depot and bought a spray for under $10... I really question the value of the big deal given the "exclusions"...

I purchased the big deal coupon for this service and it was great. This is the first time that I’ve used them. They were very friendly and I was just very happy with them.

We loved them. The first time they came and they stayed for hours and at our request and noticing how desperate we were with all the bugs that had taken over our house (we have 4 year old twins that are terrified of bugs) they sprayed every possible area that could be covered. A few weeks later we noticed the return "with a vengeance" of some of the bugs. We contacted them and, even though we are supposed to wait for 30 days before being able to bring them back in, they came back, inspected the bugs (small ants) and re-sprayed. I would recommend them to anyone that asks!!!!!

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. They provided a professional service and it looked like the technician knew what he was doing. The thing I disliked is that the first two weeks it worked well but the bugs are back so I plan to call to tell them that their pest control is not working; I am still seeing pests, they are all coming back. They said I could call them if I have problems. They are in the middle of the price range.

My mother found the representative very respectful and professional. Mice disappeared quickly.

Jim came out to our house on Saturday. He was on time, professional and absolutely fantastic. He examined the property fully for any signs of rodents and bugs. Identified all the areas that were impacted. He sprayed all affected areas and explained what we should watch out for to make sure the treatments worked. Gave us advice and showed us what to do to prevent further infestation. He explained everything to us in a way that we could understand easily. He took his time to inspect every part of the house that he could (some rooms had too much clutter to check for anything). He told us he would come back and check those rooms when they were emptied. I thought this was going to be an awful experience, afterall we were looking for rodents and bugs, but Jim was great. I would recommend Jim and his company to anyone.

so far so good... they did the first of three treatments and although it took several weeks to notice, we finally saw some improvement

They were able to come right away to give a free estimate, but when we finally called back and asked them to come exterminate, we had to wait a week because of the July 4 holiday. We were bummed because we thought exterminators usually came to take care of things right away, but it was an external problem so it didn't bother us over the weekend. Just a nuisance. We had a very puzzling problem that would draw lots of different diagnoses from different exterminators...carpenter ants, carpenter bees, wasps, yellow jackets, you name it. We still don't really know what it was. Waltham Pest treated it as if it were a carpenter bee problem. The problem was very localized so it didn't require a massive treatment. They came on time, observed it for a few minutes to see if they could see activity at the piles of sawdust, saw a few bugs fly into a hole above the pile of sawdust, confirmed it was a maybe a yellowjacket of some sort, and then sprayed something. They were done in about 15 minutes. Have seen no signs of activity there since. They even waited while my husband moved all the potted herbs away from the area, in case we were scared the spray would contaminate the plants. Oh, the great thing was, they gave us an Angie's List discount (yay!) and they warranty their work. In this case, they warrantee for 6 months so if we see the problem persists or comes back, we can call them and they come back to re-treat free of charge.

Waltham Pest Control were great. They responded very quickly. The guy came out and sprayed and he said that, if we have an active nest, that he would come back again. What happened was that we were having work done on the house, so Waltham came and got rid of all the ants. The guy said he would come back when the work was done and spray again. I was thinking that I would wait until they came back again before giving them a review, but if you want my initial response, I would say they were very good. He came out when he was supposed to and he certainly seemed very knowledgeable and good about doing it. He'll be coming out two more times within the year. Their prices seemed reasonable.

It was very good, they were polite, professional, and everything went like we'd hoped. We would definitely use them again.

Mike was great. showed up on time. explained everything he was going to do. very professional and friendly. would recommend to friends and family.

Their spring treatment kept the ants out of the house (yay!). I was disappointed that their year-round plan does not include treatment for bees, wasps, and hornets (some pest control services do include stinging insects in their annual plans, and some don't). I discovered some wasps buzzing around my air conditioner condenser and would definitely have appreciated if that was included in their year-round plan. I'm going to try to take care of them myself with a commercially available spray, but will call Waltham Pest Control for a treatment cost estimate if they persist.

They have come for one exterior treatment so far. They completed the work within 45 minutes to an hour. It has gone well. It was a good deal with them. I still do have to follow up with them so they can do the interior.

The service technician Jim was right on time, and throughout the session was friendly and informative. We were looking for the source of carpenter ants in the house, and he checked upstairs and downstairs, inside and out. He explained all the things he was doing and why, and made sure that we put out protective coverings on the floors and furniture in areas that needed special attention. He reassured us that if we saw evidence of additional infestation, just call and they would be right back out to take care of it.

Very well. Smoothly, no muss no fuss.

Will not take clients in Boston without reserved parking space. Suggested parking is not a problem in our neighborhood during the day, offered to pay in advance/premium; just won't do it.

We still saw some ants after the first week, but were told that this is to be expected and that it takes time for the pesticide to travel from ant back to the nests.

Waltham Pest Control did an excellent job. They were very responsive. Their professionalism and quality was great. I will use them again in the future.

We had an ant infestation in our kitchen and got a deal through Angie's List for four treatments a year. Office staff was responsive and friendly. It was high season for ants so we had to wait a couple days for our first service. The man who came was fantastic. He explained what he was doing and was careful because we have a newborn. We left him in our house to finish up so we could get the baby out. The ants were gone by the afternoon. I would definitely use them again. Great work from great people.

I regret buying a year round package. Even though I submitted 100's of samples, the entomologist reported states that I submitted lint and food particles. This is not correct: I provided fully intact insects on many of the samples; something in the kitchen and in my office is biting us. They treated anyway, prior to having an entomologist report, which I suppose was ok, because I was desperate for relief in here. I cannot possibly have guests until the situation is resolved. However, upon receiving the entomologist's findings I have not scheduled the remaining pre-paid treatments - what's the point ? We definitely have a silverfish infestation and with a chronic water infiltration issue from gutters and a terrible HoA, I imagine there are other issues as well. Our vet reported, much to my chagrin and shock, after ther first treatment, that she saw evidence of "flea dirt" on my dog - yet, we are on a monthly flee prevention program and have been for years. We continue to see beetles, silverfish, moths. Our clothing in drawers and in closets ( stored in protective bags) have tiny tears which could be evidence of carpet beetles and silverfish, or holes , evidence of moths and perhaps silverfish. Since last treatment, I've been contacted by email to schedule the next treatment as part of our treatment package but I see no benefit to treatment if, according to the vendor, there is nhing to treat. Communication is difficult- everything is filtered through the office staff: messages are misinterpreted by the tech and I misinterpret his responses because they are filtered thru the office staff. I admit, due to the nature of my job, I am difficult to reach. But it would be helpful if I were permitted to converse with the tech directly.

They were extremely easy to deal with throughout the service. The person scheduling the service was very friendly, and even though we lived way out in Groton they scheduled a visit quickly that fit my schedule. The person who came out was able to tell me that they were not carpenter ants (which I had thought they were) and put down a product to attack the problem. The service will also include two follow up visits. I feel very fortunate to have found this vendor and highly recommend them.

Everything went very well. I also purchased another plan from this company as it was found out that we had termites (we have lived in this house for over 30 years, but this was the first time we had a termite problem). As this is a very busy time of the year for termite treatments, we had to set up another appointment for April 27, 2013. They were here promptly and got the job done. I highly recommend this company and the technicians that do the work. Thank you for having them on Angie's List. I especially want to thank Mike for his consideration for my pets and John, both professional and caring service technicians in appreciation for all they needed to do at our home.

Very easy to schedule and service was prompt and arrived during the two hour appointment window. The exterminator was very thorough and professional. Very pleased with the service.
