George called to say the vanity was in. I went and picked up the vanity and when I got it home I saw that it was the wrong size. I called George and he said that I must have made a mistake ordering the size. I told had the measurements written down and that he was the one that made the mistake. He refused to do anything about it and would not refund any of my money. This is just not right....
Description of Work: I ordered a bathroom vanity in a special size.

We renovated our one and only bathroom in April. Included in that was a vanity with a granite counter top that extended over a cabinet that sat to the side of the vanity cabinet. All of this was arranged with Vanity World on our initial visit in February, although it took roughly two hours as the sales person was constantly tugged in other directions and could barely keep track of our situation. She was alone on a busy day so we gave her the benefit of the doubt and pressed ahead. We scheduled the delivery and received all of our cabinet materials prior to the start of the renovation. All that remained for delivery was the sink (plus fixtures) and the granite countertop. Our contractor began work on the bathroom in early May. I talked to Vanity World in advance of the start and we agreed that our contractor would alert us when he knew he would be ready for the granite template so that they could schedule this work. He notified us on a Monday that he would be ready by Thursday. I started calling Vanity World on Monday and for the next four days left occasional messages and had occasional conversations but never once got any hint as to if and when the template could be measured. In fact often our in our conversations with the sales people they did not even seem to understand what was needed. Finally, I received a call on Friday 20 minutes before the Vanity World representative was to arrive. Fortunately, our contractor, who waited around on Thursday in case someone arrived, was on site and was able to accommodate. It should be noted that we were working on a tight timeline because we knew it would take a week to cut the granite after the template was measured and we had to be out of temporary housing at a certain time. Much to my surprise I received an email from the Vanity World sales person on the night the template was measured asking what sort of granite we wanted. It had never been recorded. I did not have the granite type in front of me so I went back and forth with her on this matter until Tuesday, when I, not her, found the record of what we had ordered several months earlier. Then came the matter of delivery, which ran into delays as well, despite the fact that we had previously included delivery in our package. Our contractor did everything he could to get the bathroom ready and the house prepared for us to move back in, without a bathroom sink of course. We moved back in and waited almost two weeks for the granite to be delivered, again placing multiple calls that went unheeded, and when it finally came (again on a moment?s notice which caused me to have to run home from work in the middle of the day) there was no hole for the faucet, another feature that was agreed upon several weeks ago. In addition, they did not measure properly for the granite backsplash; the wall had a slight curve to it but they arrived completely unprepared for that and indicated that it was never accounted for. Today we have a wooden backsplash our contractor prepared as a parting gift for us. The unused granite backsplash sits in our basement with no use. We were able to arrange for a Vanity World representative to come and install/re-cut the granite to appropriately fit the space and drill the hole needed for our fixtures. Our contractor, who was equally frustrated with the delays, was then able to finally put on the finishing touches to the bathroom. I paid half of the total price at the start of this process. Throughout the ordeal I attempted to get a final payment amount from both West Roxbury sales people, but neither offered one. They would reply to emails saying they were working on it, but never followed up and never once copied their colleagues to an email in order to share the request. It was as if each question was being made for the first time. This payment issue was put on the back burner after getting no reply but once June rolled around, weeks after the project was completed, I made efforts to pay once again. I did not want an outstanding charge next to my name, for obvious reasons. Again I met complete confusion on the other end. I wrote to both sales people on June 27 asking for a final bill. One replied asking if it was installed, a mind-boggling question considering the weeks of back and forth regarding the delivery and installation of the granite. When told it was installed a month ago, she said that she could not find the total and that the other sales person would have to look for it later. There was no reply at all. On July 23 I reached out again, asking both sales people if they had been able to track down a total. This time, I was told that one of the sales people was on vacation and then asked to measure the granite end to end (how could she not have the dimensions on her end?!?!), then said she thought we paid for the granite already and then asked if we were only paying for the install, for which we should be charged $250. Again, it boggles the mind that they had not one single piece of information on their end throughout this process, we had to hold their hand from start to finish, providing much of the information that should be on file at Vanity World. I finally contacted George LaSavage directly (who's name I found on the Better Business Bureau listing for this company, but no where else). He was quick to review the situation and provide a final invoice, with a significant discount due to the headaches experienced during the process. While I was happy with the resolution, it was a little to late due to the issues experienced with this company from start to finish.

Perfect. Slight delay but not due to Vanity World's issue.
Description of Work: We bought a vanity and countertop from Vanity World. Service before the sale was quite fine, Michael who attended to us (dont know if he is owner or manager) was fine. However, the vendor delivered the wrong vanity. Thats when Michaels true colors came through. He was attentive, apologetic, came and picked up the old vanity and then delivered the new one. In the interim, he kept us updated of delivery progress. Fabulous to deal with, highly recommended and will buy from him again.
