The service is turning out well. At the beginning, we had a rough time with them. We put in a complaint about the service. When I get Wendell the owner he does a great job. His crew is not always the best. When I finally got through to Wendell everything worked out great. If he ever thinks he is going to be late he will make sure to inform me how late he will be to the appointment.

Wendell DePaiva came the day he said he would and at the exact time he was supposed to. Wendell is very professional and his staff as well. I am very happy with the way the work was done. In addition, I recently received an e-mail from Wendell informing me that I could get a $300.00 rebate: he sent me the forms that he filled out himself for me. I just had to mail them. You cannot be better than that! I highly recommend Total Comfort Mechanical!

Called Total Comfort Mechanical to come look at the ductwork of my 7 year old forced warm air system. I'd never been happy with the air flow to the end of the runs, had a cold room in the finished basement, and had recently discovered a large return in my crawlspace. Wendell spent nearly 90 minutes evaluating the system, during which he also noticed the blower motor was running very hot and was in danger of failing. He was very thorough and knowledgeable and listened to all my concerns. Got a quote 2 days later, and work was scheduled a few days after that. Total Comfort Mechanical showed up on time on the day service was scheduled and worked straight thru the day and part of a 2nd day. They laid down tarps over our rugs and cleaned up when finished. The system seems to be doing a better job: better flow to the end of the run and the cold room is now nice and warm. The part for the blower took some time to come in from manufacturer and was scheduled to be installed at a later time. In the meantime, the blower did in fact shut itself down a few times due to overheating. Fortunately we were in one of the few warm periods of the winter and house temp managed to stay above 62. Blower was installed as soon as it arrived and system has been great since then. I would strongly recommend Total Comfort Mechanical for any HVAC work.

A few months ago we had a problem with our Bryant heating system - burner wouldn't fire. The technician came out, flushed the lines, and suggested it was one of two things but he couldn't catch the error "live". The furnace fired right up while he was here so we didn't ask that anything specific be done during that visit though it seemed the vacuum switch was not closing consistently when the blower motor powered up. While here the technician showed me how to read the error codes on the furnace saying it would be helpful if, next time I called, I could give them the error code which would help them understand the likely problem and come out with the right part in the van. Last weekend we had the same problem and it was intermittent throughout the entire weekend. Same thing - could get the burner to fire right up but it wouldn't do it continuously. Technician said it was likely one of 2 things, and said we could begin by replacing the most likely (and least expensive) part, and if that didn't resolve the problem we would look to replace the second likely (and more expensive) part. Again I gained some knowledge as we went through how to reset the furnace and the control board that runs both the furnace and central a/c system. Next morning they came out and were able to "catch" the error while it was happening, the less expensive part was replaced, and we've been toasty warm ever since. Wendell called the next day to see if we'd had any more problems.

Wendell is very knowledgeable, reliable and honest. He was easy to get hold and fixed the problem as soon as possible. I would definitely recommend him.

Wendell was great from start to finish. He came to my house within a half-hour after I first told him of the problem. He explained the problem to me, and how it is difficult to know the exact solution because the error codes can mean many different things. After an hour of troubleshooting, the system was running fine again, but Wendell told me to let him know if any new problems arose. I gladly paid him the $120.00 he requested for his time, and my expectation of a permanent solution. Naturally, I was disappointed the next morning when I saw that the system had stopped working again, and my house was getting cold. I called Wendell, and again he was very responsive, and ready to go to "plan B." He made clear that if a new part was needed, the $120.00 that I had spent the day before would be applied to the final cost. He told me he would come later that day at a mutually convenient time. Unfortunately, he was not able to keep that time because of other jobs, and was apologetic. He even offered to come after 7 p.m., but I reassured him that I had been able to get the system running by turning it off and on (a very unreliable solution in the long run), so I'd be fine until the next morning. When he came the next day, he installed the new part in just a few minutes, and informed me that I would not need to pay anything on top of the $120.00 that I had already paid, because I was still under warranty since his last visit, which was less than a year ago. Even while he was leaving, he checked my condensers to make sure there was no blockage there from the snow. Wendell clearly strives to give his customers the best possible experience (even putting on protective footwear so as not to dirty the floor), and cares about their satisfaction. He also takes an interest in his work, and is genuinely interested in finding solutions. Total Comfort was a great help when I most needed it. I would definitely use them again!!

I have used Total Comfort several times now and have always come away impressed. Wendell quickly replies to schedule an appointment and gets someone out to the house ASAP. I highly recommend using Total Comfort and will most certainly call them the next time something comes up!

They were on time, and found that the problem was more complicated than he originally thought. As it is a New England winter, I appreciated him being able to solve the problem the same day by going out and purchasing a new motor.

We were delighted to have Total Comfort Mechanical provide the above services for us. Wendell arrived right on schedule and got our central air conditioning unit operating at peak performance. We had previously been using window air conditioners as we were never happy with the efficiency of the central air. He spent time with us and answered all our questions to our satisfaction. We called him requesting a subsequent check on the system and he arrived within a couple of hours of that call. Yesterday, we received a call to have our heating tune up scheduled. It was nice that we were reminded about this and were able to schedule it ASAP. We now have peace of mind regarding the heating and air conditioning units and are so thankful to have found him on Angie's List.

It was a pleasure to work with Wendell and his entire team including his well chosen subcontractors. All were prompt, knowledgeable and professional throughout the entire process. We chose the systems for their ability to deliver AC without the need for ductwork but we are equally pleased with the heating capability which is a nice alternative to running the central gas furnace ... much quieter and less expensive to operate.

Diagnosed precisely the two problems in a.m. & had knowledgeable technician in afternoon fix in a few hours. He also came out a month later & made an adjustment for no-charge because he thought it could have been related to my first repair. He & his staff are smart and have pride in their professional reputation. They care about doing the "right" repair unlike others I used. He's expensive but worth it for their vast experience & knowledge on mechanical systems. In fact I signed up for his service plan on both ac & heating because I had such a positive experience with Wendall and all his staff.

Everything went extremely well.Total Comfort Mechanical's quote is one of the more reasonably priced. We compared 4 different companies. Wendell was very responsive and professional. The crew came 3 days prior to starting to make a concrete block for the compressor outside of our house. It was very easy to talk to Wendell about our preferences and requests. They were very accomadating in terms of time of starting the project. The crew worked all day, for several long days & cleaned up very well at the end of each day. It snowed during one of those days, but the crew continued to work hard. Wendell was excellent, courteous, listened to suggestions. The result is fantastic. We were able to enjoy the heat for a short period of time since the system was installed in March. The units are extremely quiet in our bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. We really enjoyed the cool air from the system this summer. We have already recommended Wendell to many of our friends and we would definitely recommend installation by this team anytime.

I obtained three bids from top rated Angie's list companies. By far, Wendell was the best price with equal quality valued Mitsubishi Split AC units. I explained to him that we were having our kitchen and dining area remodeled. He was kind enough to do half the job right away and then he waited 10-12 weeks to finish the job for me. Wendell and his workers were always courteous and a pleasure to work with. All the work was excellently done. Always covering anywhere they worked inside and cleaning up outside. As a bonus, Wendell is a MassSave approved contractor which allowed us an opportunity for rebates and interest free loan if desired. I am very happy with the interior and exterior work that was performed and intend to have him continue with any preventative maintenance and service work needed.

It went very well. The owner came to our home to look at the equipent and to diagnose the problem. When i told him that the unit was likely still under warrenty, he went out of his way to find a suplier that would cover the warrenty for the computer board. A few weeks latter he got the parts and promptly sent one of his technitians to replace the two parts. He did all the work to obtain the warrenty claim reimbursement and did not require me to up front the claim amount.. His work was neat and cleanly done and did not complain about the tight working areas. I highly recommend Total comfort Mechanical and i intend to call them for all future maintenance and repair work needed.

Could not have been smoother. Very responsive, quick quote, talked through the options. Did the work on time. Clean-up after the job was over, called to make sure things were going well. Cannot say enough good things and did recommend Wendell to others who needed similar services.

We have an old central a/c unit that stopped working abruptly. We contacted a few service providers seeking assessments and estimates for their proposed work. One provider came quite promptly, and advised us it was non-functional and quoted details for a new installation. Another said his company would not be available to diagnose and provide an estimate until late August. I called Wendell, the owner of Total Comfort Mechanical, and reached him personally. He was nearby and said he could stop by within an hour, and indeed, he did. He was professional, knowledgeable, a good listener, wore booties in our home to protect the floor (without being asked), and he was clearly motivated to revive and reboot the existing equipment, if he could determine it was salvageable (which it was). He explained his thought process, diagnosed the problem, and within 2 hours our a/c was working again without problems. The unit itself was intact and fine; it was a condenser-related issue. I liked that he made a genuine effort to find and fix a problem, rather than quickly declare we needed a new a/c unit, and look to sell us equipment and service that would be far more costly. In brief - while fortuitous that he was local and free at the time of my call - he was responsive, punctual, pleasant, and effective. When we inevitably need to replace this unit, we would absolutely contact him on our "short list."

Wow!!!! Even though we were going through a heatwave and every other provider was booked solid (2-3 weeks for most and even our usual provider was going to be 4 days) Wendell from Total Comfort was willing to send someone over the next day AFTER another job!! In addition, Wendell answered the phone himself instead of an answering service which is such a relief since in these types of situations, it's painful to sit by the phone waiting for a call back with a useful response. I was so impressed with their responsiveness and service that I bought the service plan from these guys. Totally worth it!!!

Once installed the outside units were whisper quiet & not very large. The following Monday they started on the house. The crew worked all day, long days & cleaned up after very well. Wendell was excellent...pleasant, courteous, listened to suggestions & worked well with his team. The result is fantastic. The units are extremely quiet including in our bedroom, they are a little larger than I thought but blend in easily high up on the walls. The outside of the house with the pipes in 4" white PVC coverings, looks fine, better than I thought it might. The whole thing was great. I would recommend installation by this team anytime.

I called the company and left a message and got a callback within a half hour. The owner Wendell agreed to come to my home, assess the proposed job then give me an an estimate. The meeting was set for that Thursday at 8:00AM. On that day Wendell showed up at 8:00AM as scheduled and we went over what I thought I needed. He was very professional and clearly knows his business. He explained not only what would be needed but how the units work in detail. After taking what information he needed he said he would forward a formal estimate that weekend. The estimate arrived as scheduled and at the price that had been mentioned previously. I hired the company for the job. They showed up as schedule did the work as planned.When everything was completed the crew cleaned up so that you couldn't tell they had ever been there. Wendell took the time to explain everything. I would highly recommend Total Comfort Mechanical.

He was called at 10am on Saturday on a scalding hot day. He showed up at 2:30 the same day. Diagnosed a faulty pump, changed my filter, and made sure the system was balanced correctly. He did not overcharge me for coming out on the weekend, and completed his service to my complete stisfaction

Excellent! Wendell was a recommendation from a friend of a friend. At first, I had trouble with my old boiler and he came out here several times to help me with this. The old boiler just wasn't worth the trouble. The couple of times that Wendell did come out he got here when he said he would and I was even able to talk through some problems that I could debug on my own over the phone. We decided that new boiler was inevitable and necessary. Wendell and I agreed on a price and I paid him for the cost of the boiler, and hot water tank. Wendell and his other employees spent about 5 days installing the boiler and new hot water tank. One day, Wendell was here for a record 13 hours or so. All-in-all, Wendell's install looks neat, is easy to understand and was exactly what we agreed upon. Wendell was always here when he said he would be. If he was going to be running late or if anything came up, he called me and let me know. He was very conscientious. Wendell is a really nice guy to top it off. He is friendly, personable and overall a very hard worker. There were a few minor hiccups with a new install that can be expected. Wendell either came out here or sent his other employee out immediately after I made the call. I would say that he treated our house as if it was his own. Lastly, Wendell understands technology. We communicated where necessary with text-ing and phone calls when it was warranted. I would definitely recommend Wendell to my friends and family.

Wendell is the best there is ! We have a large house and we have worked with many tradesmen and subcontractors over the years. But Wendell's work and his professionalism really stands out. The installation went as planned with no surprises. But since then we have had 3 service calls on the equipment and every time, even in the peak of winter, Wendell showed up the next day morning to diagnose the problem and get the new parts and install it as soon as it arrived. All this with the pleasant demeanor and prompt communication. This level of Service after the install is why it is so important to choose the right person for any job. We used the system to heat the house this past winter and it reduced our Oil Consumption by 60%; The electric bill went up during winter months, so we are now installing Solar to bring it down. He is such a trustworthy professional, I called him for advise even though he does not do Solar.
