Frank came in the afternoon as promised and swapped the GFI. Frank also explained how the circuit works and the load it supports. The price was also reasonable.

+ -1 moreFrank was tidy, efficient and completely trustworthy (had to leave him at the house for the two days he worked - it was absolutely no issue). He knew his stuff and didn't waste time trying different wiring or equipment options. He brought the appropriate mounting hardware (even though he is an electrician, he did a great job with the mounting), saving time again. I recommend Frank very highly to anyone needing expertise and a fair value.
Description of Work: Frank has done a couple jobs for me in my new house. His most recent job was the installation of two Italian made electric towel warmers into the bathroom. He did a fantastic job - mounted them securely and neatly on the wall, wired them, tested them, cleaned up. Ran two 1500W circuits and got it all done in less than a day. In addition he fixed a circuit in the basement which had been improperly installed by a carpenter (my bad, never again). Last year Frank wired our flat panel TV to hide the wires, put 8 shop lights in the basement, installed 2 floor outlets in our living room (fussed around with special floor box I had bought and with getting the location exactly right), installed a ceiling fan in the MBR, a light in an upstairs BR, and some other outlets.

+ -1 moreThanks to Frank, the power lines were ready when Eversource needed them; however, they ended up needing to wait for the tree to be removed first! Frank was busy for hours ensuring that all work was up to code and that permits were obtained. He really focused on getting things done as quickly, efficiently and professionally as possible. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again, but hopefully, not under emergency circumstance.
Description of Work: When a large tree fell onto all of our electrical wires on a Friday night, Eversource needed for us to find an electrician in order to fix the wires to our house AND in order to turn on the power for the rest of the block. Needless to say, our neighbors were very accommodating but we could get no one to return our calls for this emergency. Frank responded immediately and was at our home within an hour. He ran around the house, both inside and out, getting the job done!

Description of Work: Frank has done a variety of small projects for us. He replaced a number of switches throughout the house with dimmers and/or better 4-way switches. He ran a new circuit to our laundry room. He wired up a new in-line exhaust fan. And probably a few projects that I've already forgotten.

He came out when he said he would and did all the work in the timeframe he promised. All 3 fan/light combos have worked fine since installation and he left the rooms in excellent condiftion after the work was completed.

He agreed to do my work on short notice, came at the specified time, cleaned up when done, and after he left we realized there had been a misunderstanding about what work was to be done. If he had written out the invoice before work started and had me initial that ( instead of writing the invoice after the work was completed), this misunderstanding could have been prevented. None the less, we resolved the issue amicably and I plan to use Frank O’Reilly’s services in the future for another home project in a couple of months. Grade A.

+ -1 moreAn inspection showed water in our electrical panel. It was coming in along the power line from outside. Frank sealed the possible places for water entry. The electrical panel itself showed signs of water damage. Frank tried to replace as little as was necessary but still be safe and in compliance. He could not find replacement parts so had to replace the whole panel with breakers. Frank did the job quickly and cleanly.

+ -1 moreCalled in the third week of November. Heard back from Frank a day or two later. Since Thanksgiving was coming up, he wanted to wait until the Monday after Thanksgiving, which was fine. Monday came and went and we hadn't heard anything. We left a voicemail, heard back the following day. By this point, he would have to schedule with my wife instead of myself because of our work schedules. My wife was never able to get this scheduled; she ended up finding another electrician instead who was prompt and responsive. For what it's worth, Frank did sound like a nice guy and a family man, and I mean him no disrespect. However, we felt like he never made our admittedly small task a priority.
Description of Work: Simple electrical problem -- problem with our electric baseboard heating. Turned out to be a circuit breaker problem, as my wife had guessed.
