Description of Work: We purchased carpeting for our basement (approx 1300 sq ft) and basement stairs (stair runner and landing runner) from B&D, and they installed it for us. What a pleasant, professional transaction this was! Everything was done perfectly -- from initial estimate all the way through to the installation. These guys are great! The quality of the carpet and padding are excellent. The installation was perfect. And we know that if we should ever have a problem (which we doubt we will) , B&D will be there for us. Before we called B&D, we shopped at another carpet store in the area. It was tough to get an estimate from them. They made it seem that they weren't interested in our business. On the other hand, B&D came out immediately to do the measuring and estimate and then followed up on every detail after that.

We chose another installer.
Description of Work: Bill came out to put in a bid on bamboo flooring. It seemed he knew much, and his company seemed very good. The reason we went with one of our other bids (we did 3 bids), was this company bid at $5306.00, and the other two bid $1600 and $2600 less (for the exact same product)! this is quite a substantial difference. while they may be good, that's a lot to pay extra. We went with the cheapest of the 3 bids, and that installer did an exceptional job.

Customer is right about quote, but left out that our quote included repair work to his sub-floor and installing a completely new plywood sub-floor as per manufactures instructions. It is not recommended to go over wide board sub-floors, only time will tell if this floor will stay together, we should not be rated on a job we did not do. Thank-you, B and D House of Carpets Inc.

HAD TO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND TO 'FIX' SOME DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN OLD CARPET THAT WAS THICKER AND NEW THINNER CARPET THAT WAS MEETING TILED AREA. I HAPPENED TO HAVE HAD A LEAD WORKER WHO LOVES SOUTHERN ACCENTS, SO WHEN I COMPLAINED THAT HE WAS LATE, HE LAUGHED. I THINK THEY DO A GOOD JOB. I THINK IT'S A HARD JOB AND THE WORKERS WEAR OUT EARLY. I DO HAVE WHAT MIGHT BECOME AN ISSUE LATER, BUT I'M SURE THEY WILL CORRECT IT. THEY WERE GOOD, NOT GREAT WITH FOLLOW-UP WHICH IS A NEW ENGLAND THING, I THINK. 15 YEARS AGO, I DON'T THINK CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS IN NEW ENGLAND'S VOCABULARY. IT IS NOW AND MANY OF THE ONE'S WHO DIDN'T BELIEVE IT AREN'T IN BUSINESS ANYMORE. MY TOTAL EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY WAS JUST OK, BUT NOTHING THAT STANDS OUT AS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
