Description of Work: This was a "Big Deal". Visited the house and never came back. They came to the house pretty promptly. I made very clear in our preliminary contact, which may have been through email, that we wanted a very old chimney restored, not rebuilt from new materials. The mason who arrived looked flummoxed when he saw the 200 year old chimney. He had not been given the information I left initially. He politely made it perfectly clear he built new chimneys, and did not restore old ones. It was I who suggested we needed to use recycled bricks. He said he would ask among his suppliers. I was not surprised at all that he never contacted us again.

Description of Work: Replaced deteriorated mortar between foundation & driveway.

Description of Work: Raised our front apron by 2" to even out the steps. (Entrance was too high a step for my wife) Also laid flagstones on the apron, and re-slanted the apron away from the house slightly so that it would direct rain away from the house.

Description of Work: My husband met with the rep and he was fine. We where interested in having our basement columns which is made of brick repointed. He said it would take more than 2 hours and told us the additional cost. It was a fair price, but we are unable to pay the additional cost. We would definitely like to do this project in the future.

Description of Work: I found that this company is not accommodating at all. I asked him (Jim) to call me to follow-up to confirm a meeting to discuss work to be done and he did not call me. I felt that he was not interested in working with me.

Description of Work: Removed existing brick front door steps. I had them replaced with brickfacings and blue stone steps and landing. They look great and appear to be built well. The one disappointment was the cast iron railing. I did not think to ask what would happen with the railing. He ended up cutting the railins off and gave me the name of a person who could replace the railings or reweld them. This person did not want to travel from Woburn to Framingham to do the work.

Description of Work: Jim from American Made Masonry was very responsive. I was looking to have a couple of bricks replaced on my front steps but when he looked at the steps he recommended that the complete steps be replaced or repaired which would run in the thousands of dollars far exceeding what I was looking to spend on repairing the steps.

Description of Work: American Made Masonry repaired some brick that was deteriorating next to my boiler and re-pointed parts of my basement wall with the time remaining my Angies List coupon. They did good work and will probably rehire them to re-point the rest of my basement.

Description of Work: The American made crew fixed my front steps added granite steps and landing and facing. They did a great job, were very professional, kept the area clean and neat and We were very happy with them and would call them again.

Description of Work: My husband and I had 1 chimney repaired, one chimney rebuilt, and caps put on both. Our experience with American Made Masonry was exceptional from the day of the estimate through completion of the work on November 15, 2011. The two young men who came to do the work were very pleasant, prompt, and exceptional in every way. They were a pleasure to have working on my home. They were here at exactly the time they said they would be every day. They are two of the hardest caworkers I have ever seen and I was never aware of them taking even a break, although I asked them and they said they did. The price was exceptionally reasonable for all the work that was done over a 5-day period. We had gotten 4 estimates and decided on American Made Masonry, and I am so glad that we did. I would recommend this company to anyone. You could be assured of a job well done at a very reasonable price.

Description of Work: Jim and his team did an excellent job completely restoring our front steps -- they repaired a large cement post, each of the 8 steps, and the side walls so that they looked better than they have since I moved in 14 years ago. They also put granite slabs on top of each step, and stucco on all the risers, walls and posts, so that the steps look as if they were rebuilt from scratch. They did all this in two days, and just one day later we've gotten several compliments from our neighbors on how good they look. In addition to doing such a great job, during the estimation process Jim was very responsive to both email and phone messages, getting back to me within a day. He also showed up with his team to start work exactly when he said he would each day, and was very conscientious about cleaning up in and around the work area, including washing down the sidewalks and our patio. And finally, when he sent the invoice, he factored in the Angie's List discount without any reminder from me. It was an excellent experience, and the next time I need a masonry contractor, I won't have to go through a long estimation process, I'll just call American Made.

Description of Work: Jim fixed my chimneys. He gave a very fair estimate and did the work with no problem. He and his workers cleaned up every day and were courteous. The work was done quickly and they did an excellent job. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Repointed my 100 year + foundation. Pulled out loose rock and old mortar, filled cracks and relaid fieldstone.
