I have a forced hot water heating system and some of the radiators were making sloshing sounds when the pumps were on - like they were not full of water. On checking the boiler the water fill valve appeared to not be working - the system should automatically fill if there is water loss which there should not be! I sent one plumbing company packing when they tried to tell me I need all sorts of repiping done because the system was not done correctly. My inspected 4 zone system was done correctly by a plumber whom I trust 17 years ago and has worked excellently since that time. I thought I just needed a new fill valve or something was plugged. I called Patey who came out within a few days, told their plumber Russell my problem, he checked the fill valve which was stuck. He was able to get it working but we decided to replace the fill valve. He found an overflow valve was also not working properly and replaced that also. A couple hours of work and the system was refilled and working well. No more sloshing radiators thanks to Russell from Patey. I would use them again. Russell knew what he was doing and did not try to make a mountain out of a molehill like the first plumber.

I used Patey several years ago to replace my heating system. They did a fine job and made sure that it was finished promptly. I recently called them to give me an estimate on replacing two boilers in an investment property. I called twice and each time I was told that someone would call me back. Two weeks later, I have not received a call. Last winter, one of my rental units was without heat. Being a previous customer, I called them and was told that the wait would be two weeks. Try telling that to the tenants. Shortley after my heating system, I had them look at doing something for one of my rental units. They did come but I never received an estimate. Overall, I'd say that they are not responsive of dependable.

Good advice over the phone on available options. Arrived on time and completed work, including removing the old heater, in timely way.

The bathroom is very old and the toilet was ancient. There is a second toilet elsewhere to be changed as well. Short of a total rehab there was no way to know if a modern toilet could be retro fitted. Originally we worried that a total demo would be needed. Patey suggested they bring a new toilet over and just see if they can get the flange right and get it done. If not, so be it. If it can be changed then the second bathroom would be about the same. Well, they came and worked on it and eureka it fit and was installed. Rick Patey himself came over just to check on it. We were thrilled that we did not have to pay thousands at this juncture to get it workable. Patey was professional and pragmatic. A local business that cares about their work. Patey has done all sorts of jobs here over the years from changing heaters to boilers to laundry spigots and so on. We cannot recommend them too highly and they remain a first class operation.

A leak under kitchen sink turned out to be a problem with pipe through the wall. It was a non-emergency so I had to wait about a week to get an appointment. The plumber who came out was on time - actually a couple of minutes early. Good job in assessing and repairing the problem. Courteous. Bill was very reasonable for an 1 1/4 hr labor, parts, and trip.

Lost heat some time Sunday night and by morning 1/21 our place was frigid with very low temps. We called at about 7:30A and we received a call back that someone was coming. by 9 AM the boiler was prepared and heat coming up. This is not the first time we have used Patey and I would say not the last. It is a pleasure to have such efficient and competent service, first time, every time.

We had purchased this water heater 10 years ago with an extended guarantee that had not yet expired. The manufacturer was not cooperative even though they had a clear record and these guys made an extra trip and came and took a photo of the certificate to make sure it was honored.

I noticed my water heater leaking, called Patey's on Wednesday afternoon and the new heater was delivered, installed, and the old one removed by 11 am the next morning. Great response and job.

I strongly recommend George Patey and Sons. I worked with George Patey and his son, Brandon. Both take great pride in their business and stand by their work. Brandon worked with me on planning and scheduling the projects. It was a pleasure working with him and the results were perfect. Brandon made recommendations throughout my projects that improved the end result each time. He gave good advice on cost/benefit trade-offs of various options and approaches for projects. I am very happy with the equipment he recommended. Patey and Sons have 2 jobs at my home – a complete kitchen remodeling requiring extensive plumbing and gas line work and replacement of a hot water heater. I kept coming back to them because of the great work they do. They were particularly good at working with the general contractor. They also worked very well with my homeowner projects that needed a very flexible schedule. The company is large enough that they can respond readily to most jobs. Patey and Son’s crew is dependable, neat, courteous, honest, and they do the job right to high standards. Their employees treat your property as if it were their own. I trust them completely. I would highly recommend Patey and Sons to anyone looking for top notch plumbing work.

They are out a couple of times in the year. We have an old fashioned heating system and they replaced all the steam traps and got it working properly. The amount we spend on their service varies. The most I have spent with them is about $10000.00 on the heating system. Usually it is a couple of 100 dollars for them to come out and replace a faucet or do what needs to be done or replace a hot water heater. They are a good company. Their pricing may be on the high end but they do very high quality work. It's a peculiar old house which they are familiar with which is a big plus. Sometimes when it is a simple job they send an inexperienced technician. I would recommend them. I would use them again in the future.

I have no reservations about this company. They came quickly, worked efficiently, and I am overall pleased with their work. They are also very professional. I have even called them for a telephone cosultation at no charge, they are a very good company for the customer.

They have fixed sinks, installed toilets, repaired our heater. They have done so much work for us over the years. They are very professional, honest and punctual.

It went very well. It seems that once you are an established customer with them, they are very reliable. If you aren't, you may have to wait longer. It is worth trying to be one of their customers.

Overall, I never got a shot at service. They need to be a lot more professional just setting up an appointment and being a bit more prompt or at least informing customers a better time window in lieu of w/n a couple of days.

We call and they almost always come within 24 hours. The work is excellent.

I called Patey Plumbing for a small job (installing a faucet and some toilet parts). They had been recommended by neighbors. The person who answered was exceptionally rude. He answered the phone promptly, but without saying the name of the company. When I asked if it was Patey Plumbing, I got a big sigh, and a correction of my pronunciation. I then described the job and was told, quite rudely, that he was not interested in "installing OTHER people's faucets". Sorry, but doesn't a plumber usually do that type of work? Needless to say, I won't be calling them again.

MICKEY WAS PERSONABLE, PROFESSIONAL AND COMPETENT. I'D GO BACK TO PATEY & SONS AGAIN IN A SECOND. WAS 20 MINUTES LATE FOR SCHEDULED APPT. DUE TO TRAFFIC--REALLY AN A- (NOT A 'B').
