+ -1 moreCalled 12/15 for service on 12/16, able to accommodate. Did call an hour before scheduled to arrive to advise of delay. Our closing was pushed back so it worked out anyway. They did keep shifting planned meeting time by 30 mins each time arrangements were made, but wasn't a major inconvenience. Work was done quickly & cleanly.
Description of Work: Replaced locks on 2 doors w/deadbolts & knobs & re-keyed one door, all matching. We didn't have keys for 2 doors so entire locks needed to be replaced or price would have been cheaper. We just purchased new home & needed locks changed immediately.

Description of Work: I had the locks changed in my house in anticipation of not allowing my son to live there anymore. I paid a service call fee, four re-keys and purchased one doorknob. Due to a change of circumstances, my son came back. I did not want to give him a key until some decisions were made so the front door was never locked. When I realized he was staying, I gave him a key. I then went to close the door and it just jammed and would not close with the inside lock engaged. I called Bay State within a day or two when this happened. The owner gave me a hard time from the start about fixing the problem. He insisted I had to pay another $35.00 for a service charge to fix the problem. When I said he should stand behind his work he started inventing all kinds of reasons as to why the problem was not his problem. He even accused me of purchasing a cheap ($45.00) doorknob which did not have a warranty. The locksmith he sent sold and put in that doorknob. I gave him dates I would be available. He said he would call but never did. I can't believe how rudely I was treated and the failure to stand behind the work.

+ 0 moreFrom the time I initially contacted them through e-mail, the entire project took less than two weeks. They came out two days after my initial contact to preview the project, and I had an estimate in hand one day later. After receiving the other estimates, we selected Bay State for the completeness of their proposal and the overall price. They scheduled the work for the following weekend, called fifteen minutes before they arrived, and the work was completed by the end of that day. It was a pleasure working with Scott and Deanna who came out to do the work. They were very professional, cleaned up after themselves and did the job right! They even did work we hadn't specifically discussed like providing a silicone sealant around the perimeter of the new exterior unit. We would use them again in a heartbeat and cannot recommend them highly enough! Thank you Ray.
Description of Work: They replaced the electrical strike for our front door and replaced the transformer and master unit for the building intercom/door buzzer system for our five-unit condo. They also provided a new exterior master panel and five new stainless steel intercom/door buzzer units for the individual condo units.

He discussed the technical details of the job and gave good answers to all my questions. We were sent an estimate with break down of all the options that we needed, we signed it, faxed back and scheduled the job. George, the technician, was courteous, cleaned up the job area well and completed the job ahead of schedule. Throughout the process, George answered all the additional questions that I had and continue to demonstrate the same quality of professionalism and customer service that I have received from all the previous Bay State Locksmiths associates.
Description of Work: Replacement of all the locks in our home. Adding peep hole to the front door. Replacing the mailbox lock.
