Description of Work: We recently used Able Home Services of Brockton to conduct a MassSave Energy audit. We were absolutely delighted when Greg Yunker came to our home in Sharon and changed all our remaining incandescent and CFL light bulbs to LED’s, 68 of them! He identified several areas of services that were covered by the unbelievably good MassSave program that would make a significant improvement in the comfort and energy savings of or 39-year old home. Able offered to essentially double the attic insulation, seal all openings in our basement, attic and exterior doors, around our recessed lights and provide an insulated “hood” over our pull-down attic stairs. Over 80% of the very reasonable cost to do this much-needed work was borne by the MassSave program upfront, no pay now and wait for a rebate! Where do I sign? On the appointed day, a phenomenal crew headed by Tim Fairweather (can’t make that up) explained what they were going to do, how long it would take and how minimally our day would be impacted. The first thing they did was perform, at no cost to us, a blower-door infiltration test to determine the starting “leakage” of our home. At the end of their work, they repeated this test and found a significant improvement in the “tightness” of our home. Throughout the day, Tim and Chris and Jake, were totally respectful of our home and protected our carpeting and floors, sealed their work areas so as not to cause dust or noise or dirt from the outside. We literally could not be happier with the quality of their work, the way they performed and we can feel the comfort effects of their efforts.
