It went well - Vanessa was quick to get on the estimate and move along the process with subcontractors. It actually felt good that she had so many subcontractors which meant - versus other quotes - in that she wanted the best job done so she would bring in the best people. There were some issues, as always, and some were ours (making changes, which we paid for as one would expect) and some hers (we had to reconfigure a few items in the bathroom) but she fixed everything that we weren't happy with at no charge when it wasn't a change order. Very upfront and proactive. She fell into the middle of the quotes and was realistic in estimating the timeline.

What can we say about Vanessa Flynn, owner of F & N Contractors other then she is a Godsend and we are so very thankful she took on our enormous job. We would absolutely hire F & N Contractors again and continue to refer them to family and friends! From day 1, we knew Vanessa was the real deal. After being burned by contractors previously, no pun intended, we were weary to have to go through this process but Vanessa's honest, matter of fact attitude set our minds at ease. At the time, we were living in a temporary trailer, feeling extremely helpless and overwhelmed. Vanessa was able to put our minds at ease very quickly and was also able to point out potential road blocks before they became a problem. Not only was Vanessa incredible to work with, her crew was awesome too, the neighbors dubbed them "the singing crew" because they were always happily singing while working. They were all extremely pleasant, they were fantastic with our child and even bought lemonade from the kids neighborhood lemonade stand. And Joe from her crew does some fantastic custom tile work! They were like clock work every day and any time Vanessa said something would happen on a certain day or we could expect a call, it happened. Imagine that, a contractor and crew that did what they said they would! Navigating the endless, confusing mounds of insurance paperwork, Vanessa has been there every step of the way to decipher, guide and give pep talks to us in a way only she could. She not only has been a phenomenal contractor but a sense of stability in a very unknown time. Because of Vanessa and her crew working so hard for our family, we are back home far sooner then we should be. And if that wasn't enough, she has gone above and beyond to help us pinch every penny, get great materials at a huge savings and stay on budget which with a project this large is to be commended. Our house before was old and loved but quirky with plenty of work to be done, then the fire happened and we were homeless and devastated. Now, we are truly home and not only is it lovely but it is done right! We feel like we were on a tv show where the good contractor comes in and makes everything right. F & N Contractors handled everything from floor joists, to stud walls, drywall, plaster, re-wiring the whole house, plumbing, painting, roofing, kitchens, hardwood flooring, porcelain tile, mosaic tile, bathrooms, even a new chimney. It all looks incredible and is done right the first time! It was excellent. They just finished the work. We had a lot of work done. They were very clean. They pay attention to details. They had some good suggestions on ideas that we were looking for so they were very helpful and creative. Their pricing was good and when we compare them with others they came in right in range.

They were great. We had no problems at all. They stayed on the job the whole time through. They never missed a day of work. They did an excellent work.

Vanessa (the owner) and her crew are THE BEST! Before meeting and working with Vanessa, I didn't know a building contractor could be responsive, friendly, helpful (lots of great suggestions), competent (both business dealings and actual construction), reasonably priced, and professional. We had a screened-in porch turned into a and quot;3-season roomand quot; (although the job is so tight and so well insulated it may actually be a 4-season room). Very responsive on initial inquiry. After first look-over, came back very quickly with detailed bid. Sat with us to review the bid. When time to do the work, the crew showed up on a Monday and had the job completed by Wednesday (tear down, framing, new windows, under-floor insulation, new door, siding, between studs insulation, and B-board walls). Actually did tear down, framing, new windows, Tyvek and plywood all in one day. Maybe a number of great suggestions as the job progressed (we agreed to most of them) and came back within 1/2 day with new estimates on the suggestions. What more could we ask for.
