+ -1 moreI have used Stuart Glass more than once and was very satisfied with the work they have done. First time they serviced a window in my apartment - changed broken glass. When i learned that they do shower doors as well i requested a quote from them and then had them install the shower glass. Took all in all about 1.5 weeks and went smooth. My shower glass looks great!

Description of Work: I dropped by the store with a request to make a glass shelf. Met with the owner. Very nice and responsive. He even stayed open past closing time to meet with me. Answered my questions and told me he would call me back with a price. I met on a Saturday and he told me he would call me back on the following Monday. I called the store on Tuesday. A women answered and said if i was waiting for a call back I should not have bothered becuse they never call back customers they are too busy --customer call them. She said she was all alone in the office and had no idea where the owner was. Her rudness and general demeanor was astonishing. I then left my name and number for the owner to call me back. I tried three more times to reach the owner over the remaining week. The following week, I gave up and reached out to another glass company. Last Friday, two weeks later, I finally recieved a call from them with the quote withg no explanation as to why no one called me back or why it took two weeks to get me a price for the work.

+ -1 moreOnly place I tried that actually responded to all my calls and submitted a written estimate. Worked with my schedule and showed up late in the afternoon when I know they would rather have headed home as the workmen had spent the day working in 90 degree heat. Very positive experience.
Description of Work: Replaced 1/4" x 36" x 36" pane in double hung window sash.

+ -1 moreThe installation crew brought in wrong measurement of glass and mirrors panels. Company spokesman refused to accept responsiblity, and that we would have to pay for the new panels. Homeowner produced the original drawing with measurements. Spokesman from Company never backed down. The case was settled through the help of the General Contractor's who called Stuart Glass for the job. The fact that the drawing was done by Stuart Glass' estimator, and the job would have been completed without homeowners being aware of the difference in size makes this negligence a major problem in remodeling, and the company spokesman's refusal to accept responsiblity is totally irresponsible, unethical and unprofessional.
Description of Work: The job was for shower enclosure and mirrors for a complete bathroom remodeling.

Description of Work: Don’t use this company. Here’s why, I did and they damaged my doorframe to tune of $1,000. They even supplied me with an estimate, yes they are not that bright. Reason two, when they came to estimate the job they in turn ordered the wrong glass and installed it. I have 14 brown windows and 1 brass window in a formally beautiful French door. We are currently going to settle this matter in court. You have been warned!

Description of Work: I asked Stuart to size the cost of 8 windows in my house plus two basement storm windows. It took them three months to get me a proposal ("We never sent you the proposal?") When I called two and half weeks before I really needed the windows done, it took me three calls to get to the manager because no one called me back. I had made a special request for antique glass so the manager said he needed to check his warehouse but would get back to me in the next day. That was two weeks ago despite calling three more times! Very annoying.

+ -1 moreWe needed 2 glass tops to put on top of our nightstands (to protect them) and they were ready for pick up when they said they would be. We have used Stuart glass several times, once to replace a large plate glass window for our front door as well as several other times to replace panes of glass in our super old windows (early 1900's). The shop itself can be a little intimidating as it feels like a real workshop, but the staff are friendly and professional. I can only hope that I won't need to replace anymore broken windows any time soon but I know that when I do, I'll be calling them for the replacement glass.

+ -1 moreTHIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE USED THEM AND THEY ARE GREAT. IT IS VERY HARD TO FIND COMPANIES, AT LEAST I'VE HAD TROUBLE, THAT DEAL IN MORE THAN AUTO GLASS REPLACEMENT. I RECOMMENDED THEM TO A FRIEND WHO HAD THEM CUT MIRROR GLASS FOR THREE OLD FRAMES SHE HAD AND SHE WAS VERY PLEASED. THE PLACE LOOKS SHABBY, BUT SO WHAT, AND THE GIRL AT THE FRONT DESK LACKS PERSONALITY BUT THEY GET THE JOB DONE.
